  1. You're new here Pinko, we all were once too. Understanding Oleg's comments require context - that of Oleg hisself. Also, there is a thread around here where Mr. Canada was going to film the Toronto Gay Pride last year. It was a hilarious thread which would explain the phrase 'bodily fluids' as context.
  2. Of course, it wouldn't make any sense to someone who hasn't a clue of what they are talking about in the first place. You're excused. Read the link and discover Ontario. I honestly expected you to understand something about Freedom of Information law in Ontario, but apparently I was wrong. Let me guess - you use domestic aluminum for your hats don't you? Pffft. LOFL!
  3. So? You mean like the revolutions in the Middle East right? That 15 seconds over there... How so?
  4. Why are you replying? I'll tell you why... When I was a teen I knew this Palestinian family, really nice folks, not political at all. I used to hang out with their son, who was a year younger. His sisters were mega-hot. I mean, model level hot. Anyways... The Mom was a really nice Mom and you would feed me from time to time. One of my favourites was this pizza like thing using pita as the crust topped with a spicey ground meat topping and some olives and cheese. Let me tell you, this was one of the best things I have ever eaten! Now if we are taken over by Muslims - especially the Palestinian Socialist Arab kind, and they force Dominoes to make this Palestinian pizza thing I am all for it! I mean, the Hawaiian pizza should be outlawed anyways right? I think Sharia will outlaw Hawaiian pizza and that's alright with me. The other thing: have you ever had Islamofacist Socialist Arab coffee? They make their coffee way different than we do. Slow cooked, kind of like how we might make hot chocolate. Well, a little cup of this stuff and the lights are on the engines are revved. So if the Islamofacist Arab Socialist Boot crushes Tim Hortons into making this type of coffee, I can go for that. And make them lower the price too. I bet Sharia law has some clause that requires equitable coffee pricing. Let's hope! So in conclusion, as long as we can still play hockey, who cares what law or religion or political party is going on? Seriously, for 8 months of the year most people in Canada are soma'd right out on hockey - and they aren't, they others who are. Except for the beer. We would want to keep drinking beer. And no picking on the Jews either. That would be no good.
  5. Yes there far too many needless deaths. But not all cases dealing with the mentally ill are equal and while we can't possibly know what is going on in the minds of those poor souls, some of them might be thinking suicide by cop. The other aspect is that we only hear about it when it goes wrong. I personally know of dozens of situations with regard to mentally ill suspects in which the police acted responsibly, professionally and the person was apprehended with safety for all concerned.
  6. Possibly, but in today's Twitter and Facebook age all it takes is a really dumb move like Minister Oda and it is out there. Not as a singular force itself, but as part of a compendium. No one needs to make an attack ad about it, but they can certainly mention it in passing...
  7. From the Globe Speaker rebukes Bev Oda over document in Kairos case Now in defence of Minister Oda...well, there is no defence on Minister Oda. She is on the hook for this one: MPs slam Bev Oda over ‘doctored’ document At least she admits it. Minister Oda cold not be reached for further comment as she was too busy taking a limo out for a spin with Jim Prentice.
  8. And let's not forget all those Irish Catholics who rioted and set off bombs in England and stuff. Oh wait, that wasn't because of "a place thousands of miles away from the riot" just a few hundred miles. Sorry about that...
  9. Sure, because those occupations have standards and qualifications. Did you seriously think for a moment that because a person is hired because of affirmative action that they are unqualified for that particular occupation? What was your reasoning - "just because?"
  10. Are you sure? Well, not riots, how about book burnings? New Testaments in city of Or Yehuda, Israel Harry Potter books (in various American cities) Of course you could say that those Harry Potter books were published in the US and thus not "thousands of miles away." Thus I concered the generalization.
  11. Of course it's not "free," but you have alluded to it in your OP: The section I have struck merely makes your notion specific, but does not excuse the general, especially when you say 'socialism.' One can make a very good argument that universal healthcare is a product of socialism as are many facets of our big welfare state.
  12. Then it follows that God did create the condition - "good" - for which evil can manifest itself. Therefore, either God made evil as a logical corollary of good; or that the "good" God made was seriously flawed.
  13. He won't though. He likes the free health care.
  14. Here's why: Dr. Henry Morgentaler, Dr. Leslie Frank Smoling and Dr. Robert Scott Appellants v. Her Majesty The Queen (Respondent) and The Attorney General of Canada (Intervener) I believe Bitsy is referring to a societal circumstance where education, prevention and birth control reduce the necessity of abortion and thus making it 'rare' and, when required, it is safe and legal.
  15. Interesting story from the Star about a soil dump on the Oak Ridges Moraine. Fears of contaminated soil on Oak Ridges Moraine The interesting thing here is that work for Federal government entities usurps municipal or provincial bylaws to protect the Moraine. One would think that DOT would get involved right from the get-go to ensure any of their projects meet environmental standards, but this doesn't seem to be the case if this issue has gotten this far.
  16. You are completely wrong, I have watched 'Little Mosque on the Prairie' and if anything, Muslims are amicable, peaceful people and humourous in a low-keyed Canadian Corner Gas kind of way. In fact, I think Sharia Law might be a nice change from time to time. If you end up in court, before you go in, you spin a wheel-of-fortune that includes Common Law, Civil Law, Sharia Law, Tribal Law, and a Get Off Free. That would make our system so cool. I mean, you might end up getting a 20 dollar fine or you might end up getting your hand cut off. But the really cool part is that you just might get off free.
  17. So you don't have to? If there something there that alarms you, please, do tell. Otherwise, you need to find better fitting tinfoil for your hat.
  18. Well that is easily explainable in Saipan-speak: the paid circulation is typical liberal/left number fabrication and the only reason they won all thoses awards is because they are all voted on by the other liberal/left bias media. (oh, and throw something in about the gun registry too.) I mean, seriously, that much should be clear already.
  19. Without qualification, "it's a dumb idea." Riiiight... There. Fixedit for you. So you would exclude yourself from the responsibility and process of justice in our society? No wonder concepts like community justice are beyond your reach. "If dem guvments dun do it, nun shuld." Gotchya. Let me guess: you hear a woman scream on the street and you just close your window and curtains and lock your doors right?
  20. No, there is nothing wrong with asking for personal information about any employee, it can always be denied. In this case, the request would have been made under the Ontario Freedom to Information and Privacy Act and they have constraints as to what they can release. If the professors are truly interested in who is making the request, they can raise a access to information request themselves although I am sure, through the institutional grapevine, they already know who it is.
  21. But of course, you understood my point to mean that only those commoners - everyone except the professionals - should vote for judges. That's what you thought I meant right, when you redefined it as "mob electorate?" Because I am pretty sure no rational person excludes the professional class when they talk about the "mob electorate." Well, except maybe you. I see, so that's your fear right there, the changing of "things willy nilly." Is that how they do it in the US or do you have some other horrid examples to cite of some "willy nilly" changes going on in some other western country? Besides, election of judges in no way implies "willy nilly" changes. Yes, that much is apparent. No? Is a farmer or miner a professional in your eyes?
  22. My apologies, I figured by using that phrase you would have understood it to mean "common" Canadians, those without any other qualifier. What are laws? You lose points for being elitist. Besides, practically everyone that votes is a professional in one way or another.
  23. Well, there are a some things wrong with your disagreement. 1. Elected judges are not necessarily non-professional and, in fact, good ones could be elected in perpetuity and make quite a nice career out of it. Some politicians do. 2. The "mob electorate" is that which judges - and the justice system - must ulimately be accountable to. They are going our bidding, not the other way around. 3. The "mob electorate" includes all professionals.
  24. See you and call.
