The information was in your own link. Some handle being wrong and being called on it differently than you.

It sounds like you are, knowingly or unknowingly, spreading misinformation. Is it because of 'capitalism' or is it because of this: "Libi, a Libyan national and al-Qaeda suspected third in command, railed against China's treatment of the Uighurs, a Turkic Muslim minority group in the country's far west who chafe under Beijing's rule. Uighurs complain of government discrimination, from being frozen out of jobs to having their language and religion suppressed. Those grievances and frustrations seemed to boil over this summer, when ethnic riots city of Urumqi left nearly 200 people, mostly Han Chinese, and were answered by a ruthless state crackdown." The above is from your own link, so I'm going to assume that you are spreading misinformation knowingly.

I wonder how many of us Christians and Jews are okay with bombing areas to kill extremists, knowing that innocent civilians will be killed. I doubt that the majority of those who are okay with our military killing innocent civilians (whether intentional or not) would commit the violence themselves. Without immigrants from the countries you fear so much, Canada will have a hard time filling our labour force with qualified candidates. We are getting older and having less children. We need the new blood and the new skills.Europeans are no longer interested in immigrating to North America.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rumored to have Jewish past

I posted the wrong link from the References on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnicities_in_Iran The link should have been from CIA factbook which puts the number at 51% https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/th...ok/geos/ir.html "Persian 51%, Azeri 24%, Gilaki and Mazandarani 8%, Kurd 7%, Arab 3%, Lur 2%, Baloch 2%, Turkmen 2%, other 1%" -
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rumored to have Jewish past
naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in The Rest of the World
I will change the title of this thread. I knew that Iran was a diverse country, but I didn't know that only 51% of Iranians are Persian, until I read this: http://lcweb2.loc.gov/frd/cs/profiles/Iran.pdf -
another 9-11 attack planned?

China, Mexico and Japan are the biggest trading partners with the U.S. after Canada, so your argument does not make sense. It's about the Canadian military being in Afghanistan. The end result is that they were not targeting Canada. They wanted to hijack a plane and hit America's symbol of capitalism and create a fiasco. They succeeded. Canada was not the target and Canada did not and does not have to concern itself with Afghanistan. A mess that is costing Canada unnecessary deaths, billions of dollars and increasing the chances of terrorist attacks. U.S. has helped to create this atmosphere. Canada should not suffer for US' mess. If you want our help during forest fires, hurricanes or earthquakes, we'll be there for you. But if you're going to create an unstable political atmosphere around the world and then ask us to put our lives at risk, then go somewhere else. -
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rumored to have Jewish past
naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in The Rest of the World
After reading the article a few days ago and before the article in The Guardian was posted claiming that he is not Jewish, I came across several other articles from the Middle East that have repeated the rumor about Ahmadinejad's past. The rumor has been circulating in the Middle East have in the past year and it doesn't seem to be a small story. It was even a topic of discussion during the elections in Iran. The Guardian article put forward a good argument, but it doesn't confirm that he is not Jewish. From what I have read, it's not uncommon to change last names in Iran and quite a few people with different religious and ethnic backgrounds have done this. -
The Haredi Jews are are looked at as annoying flies that cannot shutup and they have had little influence in politics until recently. Zionism has not been taken over by them. It was taken over by racist extremists a long time ago. The Zionist movement is losing power because Israelis just don't care for expansionism and the settlements anymore. They also realize that they are not under threat anymore. They need these God fearing fanatics to keep the vision going. This is why you are seeing a shift in the IDF, where the religious fanatics are playing a bigger role in the military.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rumored to have Jewish past
naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in The Rest of the World
Unlike you, I haven't done a full research into Ahmadinejad and his family's past and I haven't taken DNA samples to confirm that he is or he is not Jewish. So unlike you, I cannot confirm 100% that he is or he is not. There are many Persian Jews living in and outside of Iran. Why would it be so unbelievable that he could be Jewish? -
I wouldn't trust anyone of them with nukes. Israel, because of their nature of being an aggressive military country and history of attacking others and the Iranian government's obvious opposition to Israel's government. Both countries have been asked by the IAEA to have their sites inspected. Iran keeps stalling and seems to hide information while Israel doesn't even respond to the requests from the IAEA.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rumored to have Jewish past
naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in The Rest of the World
Then I made a mistake in the way I worded my statement. Neither articles have confirmed that he is or he is not Jewish. -
No. Just as much as I am not okay with Israel having one.
-
So then you would be okay with Iran's nuclear ambitions if they pulled out of the NPT. Then, legally, they should be free to pursue their nuclear ambition. Because, as you want to tell us, it is all about the law and you would never apply a double standard.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rumored to have Jewish past
naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in The Rest of the World
I'm sure like many, I don't read an article and conclude that it's 100% accurate. I just found the information to be interesting, so I posted it. Here is something I read in The Jerusalem Post not too long ago. Maybe Rue will find this article to be more credible: Iran Jews in Israel prefer Ahmadinejad Despite unrest and violence following last month's presidential elections in Iran, some Jewish Iranians living in Israel and abroad say life in the Islamic republic is better under President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad than it would be under challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi. At a conference of Iranian Jews in Jerusalem on Monday, leaders of the Mashadi Jewish community said that despite Ahmadinejad's blustery rhetoric against Israel, Iran is a safe place for Jews to practice their religion. During the 1979 Islamic Revolution, many Mashadi Jews fled to the United States, primarily New York City - where some 6,000 Jews with ties to Mashad now live. There are almost no Jews in Mashad today, though an estimated 25,000 still live in Iran, concentrated in Teheran. "They've found it very safe and pleasant, no problems," said Bahman Kamali, founder of the federation. "Actually, the regime during [the time of reformist president Mohammad] Khatami and the regime now have been very good with Jewish people. There has not been any problem." Kamali said Ahmadinejad's calls for the destruction of Israel were not the same as condemnation or encouragement of violence against Jews in the Diaspora. "There's a distinction between the two because Iranians, they respect the religions that have books, Christianity, Judaism," Kamali said. "They respect people freely going to the synagogues and praying there without any problems." He doesn't think the Jewish community in Iran will face persecution stemming from political unrest following the disputed elections. "I'm not concerned about that," said Kamali, who downplayed the political involvement of his group. "The purpose of this conference is not political. It's only our heritage, that we are proud of to be from Mashad, Iran, and we would like to preserve that." http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid...icle%2FShowFull -
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rumored to have Jewish past
naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in The Rest of the World
Unless you are an Iranian Jew, as according to your own words, you have as much credibility as the person you are accusing not to have any credibility. -
A good question. Dancer and many other pro-zionists seem to think Israel should receive exemption and impunity.

Because it's an interesting piece of news. Don't you think that it's interesting that a man with such a large international spotlight on him, who is perceived to be an anti-Jew by many, is actually a Jew himself? -
another 9-11 attack planned?
naomiglover replied to a topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Why do you always respond like that? That's an ugly way to debate. -
I am not sure how to react to this news. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...ewish-past.html "The Sabourjians traditionally hail from Aradan, Mr Ahmadinejad's birthplace, and the name derives from "weaver of the Sabour", the name for the Jewish Tallit shawl in Persia. The name is even on the list of reserved names for Iranian Jews compiled by Iran's Ministry of the Interior. "

another 9-11 attack planned?
naomiglover replied to a topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Then they will be seen as a target as well. Maybe less than Canada as their 200 or so troops do not have much of a combat role in Afghanistan, whereas, Canada does. I searched but I couldn't find any European countries, not participating in Iraq or Afghanistan, who have been attacked by terrorists or there has been an attempt to attack them. Tell me if you find any. -
another 9-11 attack planned?
naomiglover replied to a topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You mentioned that if you're part of the West, then you are a target. I showed two of many countries who are part of West that are not targets because of their disassociation from the Iraq and Afghanistan war. It doesn't matter how you want to phrase it. The end result is that, it's wrong and counterproductive to attack a country because a few Canadians were amongst the innocent people killed at WTC. Their target was United States as the WTC is in NY and NY is in the United States. Their target was not Canada. Okay. Looking forward to your response. -
another 9-11 attack planned?
naomiglover replied to a topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That is one of the reasons, but I did outline the other reasons in the last post that you've responded to. I included the word 'coward' because the post above yours mentioned it. I don't think I'm wrong. I look at countries like Iceland or New Zealand or many other countries who are considered to be part of the West, but they are safer than Canada because they are not involved. Canadians have been killed in many other countries. That's not a reason to attack a country. They attacked a symbol when they attacked WTC. I don't think they calculated to attack Canadians. I would like to see Canadians out of Afghanistan in every form. Mostly because after almost a decade nothing has improved in Afghanistan. If you are fighting in Afghanistan to curb terrorism, then the mission has failed. Having military control over Afghanistan (which still has not happened) is not going to stop an angry man whose relatives have been killed in Afghanistan or Iraq and who has nothing to live for except for revenge, to build a bomb in his basement in some US city and then blowing up a stadium. If you want to reduce the power of the Taliban and the extremist war lords, then the mission has failed. After almost a decade there, the forces only have power in 2 major cities. The rest of Afghanistan is controlled and run by different groups. It's also interesting that since the attack on Afghanistan, the opium market as flourished. If you are fighting in Afghanistan to help the Afghanis, then the mission has failed: Not only are the Afghani people are still unsafe, but we've participated by killing innocent civilians. I'm not sure what the count is for the number of Afghani civilians who have been killed by the allied forces. It doesn't matter to the dead and their families if they were killed by accident because the end result is that they're dead. We are talking about Afghanistan. The evidence is there for everyone to see that being in Afghanistan brings a lot more negatives to Canadians than positives. In fact, I cannot find one positive that it brings to Canada. I am looking forward for my country to be out of Afghanistan. -
This is not helping the peace process
naomiglover replied to GostHacked's topic in The Rest of the World
The proof is there and well-documented. I guess it's Ahmadinejad's choice to stay in denial about the holocaust committed by the Nazis just like it's your choice to be in denial about Gaza's deaths and destruction committed by the Israel military.
