All those European and Russian Jews arrived a few thousand years earlier? I thought they arrived in the 1900's and less than 10% of the population of the region was Jewish before 1910.

Afghan prisoner abuse trial
naomiglover replied to Sir Bandelot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The other thread was deleted, but my response to capricorn survived: You got it wrong. The reports on torture have been making rounds within the Foreign Affairs and National Defense departments for months. All this news we are hearing is not "new". The bomb you speak of dropped a long time ago without the public's knowledge. Now Mackay wants to know why these reports never made it to his desk, even though they reached others' desks. This is not about his sources. This is about the Harper government not acting on these reports and then trying to keep the information from getting out. I believe he is presenting a professional conclusion. Afterall, he is a senior intelligence officer who has been promoted to Washington. Trying to portray Colvin and this situation as 'personal' is dishonest. Sloppy character assassination will only reduce your credibility. Instead of sweeping the information under the rug, why not face them head on and try to fix the problem? All other NATO members have a protocol in accordance to international law, in how prisoners should be handled. Canada does not. This is an opportunity for the Canadian military to get it right. Stop trying to deflect and playing the ugly partisanship act. The current government knew about the reports from Colvin for some time and they did not do anything about it and apparently tried to sweep it under the rug. This is a problem that needs to be fixed. -
Around Jerusalem, the average ambulance journey time for a Palestinian is almost 2 hours. In the West Bank, there are more than 600 internal military checkpoints and roadblocks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zZhVekDq5Y

Afghan prisoner abuse trial

Good grief. Another Conservative vs Liberals war. The official(s) who knew about the abuses and elected to brush it to the side is/are at fault. Unless Colvin is a big fat liar, then Mckay and the Harper government knew what was happening. If it turns out that the Liberals knew about it as well, then they should also be held accountable. -

Good try. You have a habit of deflecting any chance you get. You fall on the same list as Wulf and Gabriel. The only difference is that they're honest about their obvious hatred, racism and bigotry towards 'these cats' and you, unsuccessfully, try to mask yours. -

You should be happy that I'm giving you another place where you can shrug off human rights violations. *edit - Oh yea, before you foam at the mouth, I should say, "alleged" human rights violations. -

Once again, Tel Aviv puts itself above the law. The US and UN have criticised Israel's approval of 900 extra housing units at a Jewish settlement in East Jerusalem. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said the move would hamper Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. Their remarks came after Israel's interior ministry approved planning applications for the new units. The planning and construction committee authorised the expansion of Gilo, which is built on land captured in 1967. The land was later annexed to the Jerusalem municipality. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8364815.stm Not only are they building these internationally recognized illegal settlements, but they are doing their best to ethnically cleanse East Jerusalem by demolishing their homes and making it virtually impossible for Muslims and Arabs to receive building permits there. Meanwhile, Israeli bulldozers have demolished two homes in East Jerusalem, a further cause of Palestinian anger. Thirty people were displaced when the first home was knocked down in the Beit Hanina area of East Jerusalem on Tuesday evening, rights groups said. On Wednesday morning, an empty building set to house 14 people was bulldozed in the Izzawiya area of the city. Israel says the homes were built without permits and it is simply enforcing the law, but Palestinians say it is extremely difficult for them to get construction permits. Obama is publicly speaking out against the settlements, but we will see how much he can really do in the face of Israel's powerful lobby.

So what if you have a video from 2008? What does this prove? Where do you get your 2009 date from? If you want to keep denying that the Gazans are not suffering and all these organizations who have been there and know the extent of the suffering they are enduring, then you will not be taken seriously. -
The 1000 civilians killed in Gaza were not terrorists. Neither are the 3000 who have been maimed for life. Neither are the thousands and thousands whose lives have been ruined.

I know who posted them DogOnPorch. 32 seconds into your video evidence, the date of the video is shown and it's from 1996. You claim a lot of things. -
You make it sound like any time we, the West, violates Human Rights, it's done to only 'terrorists'.
-
I have read them. Human rights law fall under international law. I will be here to discuss them once you've learned the basics.

For a second there, you almost came off as someone who cares about universal human rights and international law.

Censorship is wrong. Whether it's being done due to fear of violence and/or fear of government's response. Germany has a law in place for anyone who denies the holocaust: http://www.antisemitism.org.il/eng/Legislation%20Against%20Antisemitism%20and%20Denial%20of%20the%20Holocaust#Germany -

Those organization certainly are all Jew haters. This is all a conspiracy against Jews. Even when other Jews are involved in these organizations, everyone already knows that they're self-hating Jews. DogOnPorch has uncovered another plot against the Jews. -
Because they are no match for the advanced weapons that they have. Why else do you think?

U.S. media's great hope
naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It's not about the jokes. I don't think you get the information that is passed on through Jon Stewart's show. He shows the mockery that the U.S. politics has become and the failure of the mainstream media to hold them accountable. Don't worry, he doesn't just attack the conservatives. He also goes after Obama and his administration. -
