If that were the case, it would be 27 minutes ahead... not behind.

You are not outside of Canadian law. If you type the words in Canada, you're liable under our laws. Now... about the time. Why is it 27/28 minutes out?

Your logic doesn't compute. Those geese weren't Canadian. They weren't migrating. They were a local flock. They're American Canada Geese.
-
Then you agree that the birds that brought the plane down were American geese?

Knowing Norwegians to be of unquestionable character, I'd wonder why they hated me so much and do all I could to change my ways. Or I'd assume they were a bunch of berserkers and do what I could to cut off their supply of aquavit.

Canada Geese, people.

Because they're sports people like to watch and they're willing to pay for the privilege. Team sports are huge in the US, same as elsewhere. Stating that "the US is all about individualism" smacks of trolling. -
Steve McNair may have been a victim of domestic violence, or he may have been killed as a result of hid own DV tendencies. without any evidence, who can say for sure? and while male victims tend not to report... the same is true for many female victims. adding in SS relationships is a strawman.

As it stands now, community leagues play Canadian rules, as does UBC (and SFU for the moment). High schools play American rules... only in BC, so far as I know. The rest of the country they play Canadian. -
We've moved on to South Africa now? Someone seems desperate to make a point.....

Aw crap. BC high schools play American rules football. I was hoping this would change with SFU being inthe CIAU. So much for that. -
They weren't Canadian geese. They were American. They were locals.

And that's the way it is was. RIP.

Does someone have something on Palin?

jbg is right. There's plenty of research backing this. -
All of that and more. While we were allowed to wander around outside. too many parents won't let their kids do that for fear of something happening to them. We drive them to and from their friends and their ball practices. We don't really let them have their freedom. Along with the pop sizing... how about chips? If you look at the nutritional label, some of the "small" bags actually contain 2 or even 3 servings... as if they're going to be shared! Popcorn at the movies too... they're huge... and refillable. There's far too much sugar, salt and fat in kids' diets. Never mind what all else is being added.

You're free to surmise anything you want. I'm free to be amused by it.

In my opinion... the reasons kids today are fatter is because they're less active and eat far too much convenience foods. Back in the day... when I was a kid... we didn't sit around playing xbox and IMing with our friends. We went outside. We rode bikes or walked to each others' houses. If... not when, but if... we went out for dinner, it wasn't to McDonalds or similar, and a pop with dinner was a single 6oz glass, non-refillable. Have you seen the slurpees at 7-11 lately? 64 oz cups. That's 8 cups of mostly sugar, with absolutely no nutritional value. Go to a restaurant, and pop is refillable. Kids usually know what are good choices and what are bad. Most go for convenience, much like us adults.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be subject to US law... just that it's subject to Canadian law. A few people have found that out, to their surprise. They thought they were safe posting their hatred and stalking... only to discover they were accountable for what they'd typed.

Well done. You've successfully identified the black and white ends of the spectrum. However, I'm more interested in the various shades of gray. What's the cut-off? At what point does a kid go from being "big" to "fat"? For sure. However, fat doesn't necessarily mean unfit. Skinny kids who aren't fit face health risks too. Do you really want to give "the state" that kind of power? And again, you'd have to have clear guidelines for when the state could step in... and I don't think "I know a fat kid when I see one" will suffice. Holy shit. If I can't say that here, please amend my statement to holy crap. What the heck kind of kids do you hang around?

It's already been repeatedly pointed out..... One has little to nothing to do with the other. You'd see that, if not for blind partisanship.

From what I understand, it doesn't matter where the server is. If the words are typed in Canada, you're subject to Canadian law.

This can`t be right. It was the Libs who stole from the EI fund.... the Cons would never do such a thing.

Is There a limit to how Greedy and Self Serving Canada is?
lily replied to whowhere's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
A parasite to their economy? ok.... but there are other more parasitic nations ahead of us. Canada is something like 7th or 8th in exports. I'd love to see how you figure we're an affront to freedom and how "they've" defined life... and why we should really care about that anyway. -
Define "really fat". Who decides if one kid needs to go on a diet? Does it matter if the kid is active? Do lazy skinny kids get a pass? We need to increase activity and offer healthy nutritious food. PE a couple of times a week isn't enough. Allowing pop in school is not a good idea.... a lot of schools no longer have candy in their vending machines. Sure, the kids could bring it in their lunches or walk to the corner store on a break, but setting a good example can help. Pulling a kid aside and telling him he's fat.... you think he doesn't already know?

Urine: A 'Clean' Energy Source Urine-powered cars, homes and personal electronic devices could be available in six months with new technology developed by scientists from Ohio University. Using a nickel-based electrode, the scientists can create large amounts of cheap hydrogen from urine that could be burned or used in fuel cells. "One cow can provide enough energy to supply hot water for 19 houses," said Gerardine Botte, a professor at Ohio University developing the technology. "Soldiers in the field could carry their own fuel." cont'd.... Fill 'er up!
