Of course taxes will go up. If we want services, we have to expect to pay for them. I don't disagree that harmonizing the taxes is a good idea, but why add them together? Why not have announced that the GST and PST would be harmonized and it would be "only" 11%, rather than 12%? We'll be paying more, because now we'll be paying both taxes onthings we only used to pay GST on.

Ours don't. So far, anyway. A lot of the classrooms collect the juice boxes and use the extra money for supplies or extra field trips. It's an easy fund raiser, if someone's willing to do it.

Recyclables are different from returnables. They're both big words and they both start and end with the same sounds, so I understand your confusion.

It's kind of funny inthat case... police said that he was possible dead for up to 8 hours before he was discovered, but his wife couldn't account for why she didn't realize he was dead, even though she was in the hotel room with him. He was found in the morning when she woke up. Could she maybe have been sleeping during those 8 hours?

It's just a matter of how much money makes you rich in any given area... cost of living factored in, of course. When my son needed surgery, we went to the specialist our doctor referred us to, did the tests and booked the time. That's it. No fretting, no shopping around. Same with Dad's hip surgeries, Mum's elbow surgery, her stroke... everything, actually.

I work in the dental industry and I don't even have dental... go figger. We have decent drug coverage through Pharmacare, I pay a monthly premium in addition to the taxes for my medical. My son had a CAT scan fairly quickly several years ago... it was non-emergency, or it would have been faster. Colonoscopy? No idea. Rookie? On most forums I'd be referred to as a n00b.

It's illegal to pay your doctor. Why do you insist on keeping the "choosing him/her" in there? Yes, I do have a trusted family doctor, and when he retires, I can't see I'll have a problem finding a new one. My sister is a nurse... but that's completely irrelevant. THat's funny. I usually associate the "I'm all right Jack" line of thinking with those such as bush/cheney who prefer the American system because they can afford it. THey don't seem to care about those who can't.
