Yes I would think so. Since seniors tend to vote conservative, but they already are the most active voters then it would stand to reason that the influx of more voters would be from the younger demographic since the seniors already vote in large numbers. If so I think this bodes very well for those opposed to Harper getting re-elected.

I'm wondering if higher numbers of people voting benefit or work against the conservatives.

Harper gave $8 Million in tax dollars to GOP

The Democrats are Neocons too. e.g. Syria and Libya. -

I hope BC is watching this thread. Next time he tries to deny that Harper is a neocon will be amusing. -

"Purpose: Strengthening Multiparty Democracy" AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'm sure the cheque was drafted in the spirit of Orwell. -
"no worries! Harper has provided assurance this was a one-time only purchase that gave ownership control to a foreign country..." They also sold Talisman to the Spanish oil company Repsol. Predictably not long after Nexen was sold to China there was a massive pipeline spill that inundated 16 square kilometers with oil. Yeah great for Canada.

What would force each of the federal leaders to resign?

Strategic Voting - It needs to be done
G Huxley replied to marcus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It's really not so simple as often it's too difficult to tell which candidate has a better chance as often they are neck and neck. Anyway I don't think there is a snowball's chance of hell the conservative will win in my riding. I think people here have enough sense that when a candidate doesn't show up to any of the all candidates' meetings, but has a teddy bear show up instead that his party are a farce which doesn't belong in Ottawa. Unfortunately the polls don't bode well for much of the country especially in backwaters with low education. -
It is statistically shown that the more air time heavily effects vote numbers.

Again Democracy loses by May's exclusion. Hopefully Munks gets Justice in court.

It is literally 'rule by the few' in Greek, as opposed to Democracy 'rule by the citizenry'. As Aristotle wrote in his politics: politics (rule of the city) was a struggle between tyrants, oligarchs and the demos as to who would rule the city state. Nothing has changed in 2500 years. In Canada the oligarchs currently rule. Mind you since Harper has now silenced all his party members it's looking a lot like tyranny (rule by one).

Canada and the 14B weapons deal to Saudi Arabia
G Huxley replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How about we announce a new policy to balance the budget. Selling heroin to under privileged school children. What are you bleeding harts whining about? It'll create jobs for Canada! -
Canada and the 14B weapons deal to Saudi Arabia
G Huxley replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You're still crying about the bleeding "harts?" If you weren't making yourself look bad enough with such comments it would at least behoove you to learn that a hart is a deer, and a heart is a heart, but then conservatives wouldn't know what that means would they? -

"Lets all hold hands then." Can you not possibly of how Canadians can earn money without selling weapons to mass murderers? Electing you guys is like electing the pedophiles to run the daycare. -
Canada and the 14B weapons deal to Saudi Arabia
G Huxley replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We want an economy to make Canada better, not to arm murderous dictators. Then again that's what a conservative economic plan looks like doesn't it? Merchants of death. -
They have as many MPs in the house as the PCs in 92. No if it was fair they'd have a chance at the debate. In order to build support you need fair face time in the debates. If not then it's rigged in favour of the elite oligarchy, which is pretty obvious anyway by the desperation by the oligarchy to keep the Greens from the debates.

The only poll that counts is the one on election day. The opinion polls shouldn't be used to make the process unfair.

"I can't stand bleeding harts like you." Same I can't stand deer hunting for sport either. -
Democracy shouldn't be decided by polls. The only poll that counts is the one on election day. Your previous argument was lack of seats. And both the PCs and Reform had the same number of seats at one point or less and yet they were let in the debates.

I said antecessors to the conservative party. Are you really saying the Bloc Quebecois were the antecessors to the conservative party?

G Huxley replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well sleep well knowing that the weapons you sold are being used to murder thousands of people. -
Of course, which is why this whole thing is simply political theater to get Harper re-elected, an expensive and dangerous one at that.

Like the Progressive Conservatives antecessors to the current conservative party in 1993.
