Honestly, I believe the education system has problem. It create selfish, near sighted people, such as the nose broken kid and his parents. When the parent of the kid call police, he/she never think of if his/her own kids did something wrong. He/she did not consider the charge may destroy the other kid's future. If the you think the boys fighting is OK, is the parent join the boy to escalate the fighting to court OK? Is that good for their own kid? The education system made people no Moral at all.

So, in the case of this topic. because the Asian kid broke the nose of the other kid, according to the Canadian criminal code. He can be defined as a criminal. according to your logic, he should be deported. The Asian kid never crime before that, it is the environment in Canada make him do that. The environment include the laws, the schools. He was not treat kindly, and he was bullied, the principal did not do anything on that before. (It is not his/her problem?) However, Asian kid and his family is not weak, his father "runs the Keswick gym where Jack teaches young students.", So, he can be loved by many others. And the racism topic can be used by politicians to fight each other. If not for this 2 reasons, if Jack is just a worker's kid, can he be so lucky to be discharged? When you know the principal was so confident to suggest the district to make the kid "expulsion from not just his school but his entire school district". Do you have the statistics of the criminal rate in new immigrants compare with at least the 2nd generation in Canada? I believe it is the law and education system in Canada created more criminals. I don't think we should be ashamed because we don't buy some useless things. It reflects the actual situation of Canada. Canada's GDP is not ranking much better. Canada's patent application number is not ranking much better. Canada was in the 2nd list in the G20 in England. Canada's position in the Olympic metal list is not ranking much better. We have too many things need to do that are much important than this. When lots of people still need EI, why ask people to pay more for unnecessary?
