Harper threatens Ignatieff with old videos
bjre replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Those politicians can no nothing but fighting each other try to steal the privilege to creating laws and rules to steal more taxes from people. Nobody actually care about Canada's future and doing something really good for Canadian people. The education system is still generating such kind of people for future politicians, unqualified doctors and other unqualified professionals. -
Next round of US financial trouble
bjre replied to Jerry J. Fortin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
See what California did. To do it in such a passive way is worse than do it in a proactive way to abolish the unnecessary laws that cost so much and do so little good to society, some laws even cause problem more than it solved. -
Next round of US financial trouble
bjre replied to Jerry J. Fortin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The US just unwilling to say, the 2 wars (in Iraq and Afghanistan) the to most large cost they have spent the make the unbalance of cost and income. Canada does have the balance problem problem. Ineffective jail, court, cops, laws, CAS, army, and many others cost much, and income is not enough even import many immigrants try to generate more income larger than expanse people, that is still not enough to solve the problem. The most important is checking the laws to see if it is affordable for current economy situation of Canada. -
Obviously, you can afford to buy justice. Otherwise, how can you afford so much time to chat on this forum.

That is completely IMPOSSIBLE. For the people that can not afford the legal cost, when legal assistant runs out of time, they will have no way to be treated equally by law. That is the FACT in Canada. The employees in the shop may earn 15000 a year, a cop earns several times more than them. Small shops can not afford the the security company expanse. The police have not so many resource to protect them so that the theft will never be caught if they call police. So their property right have no way to be protected. So they are not be treated equally with the large shops that are able to hire security company. One solution is ask small shops add more security expense so that many small business can be closed because of the extra cost. So more people need to be feed by tax payers. More people will not able to pay tax. The other solution is ask tax payer to pay more tax for more cops. Your theory is good, but everyone need pay more, the overall cost for company can increase significantly, more jobs can go abroad. More people have no job, More people can not create their small business, more people try to be theft, then there need more cops. More crime will happen because of poverty, more cost need for the legal system, more jobs go away, until all people in the country become either a cop or a theft.

http://www.torontosun.com/news/columnists/...569326-sun.html Video Actually, now it will be hard to say, what is right and what is wrong, only what behavior is in the criminal code book or not. It is just a definition on papers by politicians. From movie we know, lots of people doing things already in the code book when it is not likely have large risk, how much respect in people's heart to the law still left?

That is another extreme. Law is necessary to protect people, but not the only thing we can rely on, education is more effective than law, education included in school, from TV, from home, from society. Too many laws is just as harmful as no law. People can easier to find a law to do legal attack: The law grant someone to take kids from their parents makes Harper at apologize to native people: The law grant someone to take kids from their parents makes 36% CAS in care kids end up in correction system Laws become a shield for hospitals to hide their error so that they can continue take large sum of money from tax payers with poor service that kills as many as 24000 Canadians a year by Medical error: New laws aimed to take more people's freedom and right away: And too many others and unknowns. Is the more laws, the better? No, Canada has too many laws, it will make Canada become worse because people's freedom becomes less and less with the increase of the laws. New inventions / new business will be illegal, Jobs, economy growth points will went away to find place with low cost, low risk, much freedom.
-
Just don't tell people what is allowed to do and what is not too much. The nation will pay for that. The more not allowed by law, the more bureaucracy will needed, the more people will pay for it, the more error will happen, the more corruption will make use of it, the more unfairness will generated, the more ability of children for solving problems will be disabled, the more nation and people's future will be worse. (edit to add) The more constitutional freedom will be recalled.

Just don't tell people what is allowed to do and what is not too much. The nation will pay for that.

Do you have any statistics to support that? I think the violence on TV / movie / x-box can affect them more.

Yes, other country has more or less the similar problem. But aren't politicians ask Canadians to proud of being a Canadian? If all problems other countries have becomes the reason Canada shall also have, what will your proud come from? What make Canada better? Should medical care be one of the advantages? Do you think if you should care about the health of your family members? Or at least, do you think if you should care about your own health? Are you so sure you will never go to hospital in your whole life? That is why we need some mechanism to avoid as many error as possible. Enterprise has Quality Assurance department. Consumers can decide themselves what kind of product they will buy. But for hospitals, we have no choice, we have to find a family doctor to wait one hour every time visit them. we have to wait 8 hours in the emergency department no matter which hospital in Toronto you choose. And many people just don't know the doctors they trust can make so many preventable errors. The current situation of hospital is decide by laws. Only laws can change it. * public should have right to know the truth of the error made by hospital and doctors * doctors that easy to make mistake should quit and do other low risk jobs. * more doctors should be provide to meet increasingly demand of the service. * competition is the reason makes capitalism develop faster and better than other system, Lack of competition makes business earn more money by provide bad service and poor product. This is the real reason of the problem of the system. They just sit there and ask more and more money from tax payers because they are protected by laws. Actually. it is an attitude, is hospital willing to make efforts to reduce their errors? Do politicians care about the life of Canadians? Are they going to make some real steps or just talk to cheat public through media? Are you care about health of yourself? -

See post #1 and post #27 Some study says: ( http://www.healthcoalition.ca/death-coverage.pdf ) I don't know how much we can trust such study, but at least the condition in private hospitals are not so good. Even if you have money, your life and health is still in the hand of doctors when you need them. -

So the people who has less money has less human right than the people who has money? That is your view of human right? Where do you go when you need a hospital? private or public? -

You suspect the validity of this report. But Mr. He is still protesting at the gate of the hospital until 3:00 today. It is still happening. Questionable doctors are still there, have not been dismissed. Actually, US is much better than Canada. according to the following report, us has " Up To 98,000" die for medical error, Canada has "up to 24000 a year. Us population is 306,480,000, canada is 33,658,000. So in US up to one die in every 3372 US people a year, Canada is one die in every 1402 Canadian a year. http://news.yahoo.com/s/usnw/20090520/pl_u..._medical_errors http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/us...ls,832203.shtml http://www.bio-medicine.org/medicine-news-...Errors-46489-1/ http://www.consumersunion.org/pub/2009/05/011324print.html Does Canada has such a consumer's union to ask for rights for Canadians? -

If China has a same rate (1/300 die from medical error in 10 years), China need 4,333,333 (4.3 million) die in 10 years for medical error. The problem is not the syndrome itself. The problem is the doctor did not find the women may have the problem before until too late. And they did not prepare enough blood for emergency. When they need, it took one hour for the blood come and another hour for it melt. And when the woman's mother, who was a doctor for 20 years, suggested using normal method would be too slow and she suggest to using a special technique, the doctor ignored that. There are too many chances missed to avoid the women from die. And the most important is, all those factor did not appeared in any English media (only Chinese media), that means if the woman's mother was not a doctor herself, no one would know that. How many other cases have similar problems, does patients has human right? why they were treated like that. That is why I believe legislation need to change to make the hospital hard to hide the facts for hospital and unqualified doctors, So that to make them unable to remain the doctor for possible make more patients to suffer on that. 24000 Canadians dead for medical error in a year, isn't that a very serious problem? If canada have not enough doctors, why make immigrant doctors unable to work in their own professional area? Did they kill 1 out of every 300 when they in their homeland? Laws should be used for adjust people's behavior, and make the society be more safe. Now it seems that laws are more often used for protect the group interests or help some industries to make more money even when it harm to other's basic human rights. This should be change. -

What has been improved, is there any new mechanism to prevent it from happening? Are there any legislation changes to prevent those? Why it still happen? Pan's mother was a doctor in China for more than 20 years. She was with her daughter that day. She is very sure her daughter's won't die if she was the doctor that day. She did give some suggestions to the doctor that day when the doctor ignored all. You can argue, you can disagree, until someday, it happen to someone you know well. -

I think no murder in Canada is so evil that kills one of every 300 Canadians in 10 years. -
Two Chinese community patients Ms. Chen Xiu Lan and Ms. Pan Min Hong, died while in labor at Scarborough Hospital within six months period is shocking and outraging the community. Increasingly, Chinese women have said that they want to fly back to China to deliver their babies. He Geshen, hasband of Pan MinHong, went protest Yesterday, today, and tomorrow from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the door of Scarborough Grace Hospital. http://info.51.ca/uploads/Image/2009/05/5_0J04Q37.jpg http://info.51.ca/uploads/Image/2009/05/5_0J524K4.jpg http://info.51.ca/uploads/Image/2009/05/5_0J43c91.jpg He ([email protected]) wants to find a Lawyer who is able to sue the hospital because he can do it only in two years, now, one year has already passed. From Chinese community media, the important factors were not included in the record prepared by hospital, include patient cough, legs shaking. And blood did not prepared for emergency. Medical errors killing up to 24,000 Canadians a year, http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2004/06/09/...rors040609.html That would be at least 100,000 Canadians for 10 years, if the population of Canada is 30,000,000, that means one of each 300 Canadians die from medical error in 10 years. IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU SOME DAY. I think, we need change, we need to change laws. The hospital is unable to comment on any patient information due to confidentiality legislation. Hospital also refuse to give the report prepared by U of T professor to the victim family. I think in many similar cases, the facts were hide, so that the unqualified doctors can still earn money with their oganizations. I think we need to abolish the related laws so that such kind of facts can be known by public. The laws that provent public to know unqualified doctors should be abolished. The laws that help hospitals to hide the fact should be abolished. The laws prevent immigrants to be a doctor or open their private hospital should be abolished so that they can compete with the existing hospitals. They can be shut after they cause problem. I think they will not cause more problems than the existing system that kills one Canadian out of every 300 in 10 years.

Death penalty is not for Canada. Canada is for nation full of errors (for example: Medical errors killing up to 24,000 Canadians a year, http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2004/06/09/...rors040609.html ) Canada is a nation personal interest can be pursued above anything else without responsibility without moral (for example, CAS victimize one kid out of every 100) If Canada have death penalty, it will definitely be used evilly for personal interest for group interest without trace. For Canada, the more important thing is establish a better Moral System, need to reform the education system to make people tolerate, understand, think of, care about others, instead of just think like "it is his problem, not mine", when a killer kills you or your family member, can you still say that? Is just killing the murder will heal your hurt if your child be killed? Penalty is necessary, but it can not be the only thing to rely on. A murder decide to kill others in a lot of time is drive by strong emotion like hate, anger, sadness, and others, in that case, he would not be able to consider the consequence even if it is a death penalty. The strong emotion may be caused by bully, feel unfair, and many others. If more people be nice to care about the people near them, and do some real help to them, even a criminal can be changed nice.

Before your so called "red neck" stay there, native people lived there for hundreds of years. did red neck invade? Why Canadian soldier still in Afghanistan, is that an invade? When Toronto city hall build in 1950s, the residents of the Toronto's first China Town there have to move away, is that an invade? That kind of speech don't help, just make people hate each other, it is no help to solve problem.
