  1. N.....R.....A! NRA, Republicans block proposed law to stop suspected terrorists from buying guns in U.S. .
  2. How the Harper government is manipulating the refugee crisis --- Harper is pandering to the dangerous stereotype that all Muslims are potential terrorists, whereas non-Muslims may be squeaky clean. .
  3. why didn't Rona Ambrose bring forward that gem of yours when she asked the question in Parliament back in March? Would Yazidi peoples actually need advice to leave... some 400,000+ Yazidi have left... they're called refugees! That profiled attack on Yazidi's and takeover of Sinjar was back in August 2014... if we accept the 'ISIS is on the run' pronouncements, I don't expect there to be many Yazidi left in the province - yes? But... do you have numbers? .
  4. "denial of what is going on over there"... what is going on over there, and what is being denied? uhhh... please if you're going to spout talking point platitudes, best to get your timing right on promise versus start/end of Syrian refugee resettlement. Can you further elaborate on what was, "screwed up, big time"? .
  5. no - that post from MLW member marcus was a perfect response to the standard DOPloy; he (DOP) who took it to much more than this localized incident focus. Your described collateral damage does have implications - yes? .
  6. a whole lotta people in 'shift mode'... why, a new 'experts-from-afar' position holds that this incident has little/nothing to do with 'Islamic terrorism' - simply because the guy was so unknowing and all over the map claiming ties/allegiance to disparate groups like ISIS/al Qaeda versus Hezbollah; groups that actually oppose each other. How does a so-called 'internet inspired' lone-wolf gain inspiration from and attachment to such dissimilar sources? Other "experts-from-afar" are now speaking to 'gay-on-gay' killing... that the shooter was so conflicted over his own sexuality that he went to such an extreme. Then we have the "mental instability" camp! Through all of this gyration, such a burning need to quickly place the guy in "one-box" and wrap a tidy bow around it! Throw in azzholes like Trump taking advantage of the situation... add in the gun-nutter crowd... and it's a multi-faceted palooza of swirling feces that plays to the best strengths of pliers of hate and the worst fears of the insipid meek/mild. .
  7. ya ya, kimmy... that's right, "Orlando Muslims" did that... all of them! It wasn't just "some number" within that particular mosque in question, right? It was your described, "Orlando Muslims" - all of them! .
  8. you forget the sarcasm tag/emoticon... right? If not, setting aside your wedge play, who/what exactly do you proclaim as, "leaving the bit whiter Yazidi girls to be tortured, raped and murdered"? .
  9. "instead of the thousands of war-hardened military-age Muslim men that our PM wants to let in"... citation request for your bullshyte statement .
  10. am I improperly interpreting your emphasis that presumes to 'help' within an active war zone, notwithstanding what Rona Ambrose politicized for purely partisan gain? As I understand, given the principal concentration of the Yazidi within a single Iraqi province, over 400,000 have escaped ISIS/Iraq as refugees... with estimates that some 5000-7000 girls/women have been targeted/captured directly as your described, 'sex slaves' (just in 2014 alone), with latest estimates suggesting there are some 5000 Yazidi girls/women currently being held by ISIS. Certainly, I would expect that Yazidi refugees would fall into the broader mix of the collective refugee assistance program efforts being led by the UN. The plight of those ISIS captured Yazidi girls/women has been taken before the UN and an assortment of country governments appealing for the international community to act. But, of course, in an active war zone, what does that mean... how does the international community 'act'... exactly? .
  11. no - sorry; the SCOTUS has ruled that burning an American flag... is not illegal - "flag desecration deemed symbolic speech". . both major U.S. political parties claim Big Tents... are you sure the Democratic Party includes your nemesis, "leftist Markist SJWs"? .
  12. since you're focused on expense with your post; given you've repeatedly flogged that most recent Denmark sale, will you finally answer my repeat request asking you to comment on the Canadian price equivalent Denmark paid for each of those F-35s? You know, that ~$145 million per plane? How does that price fit within your self-proclaimed "fiscal conservative self"? .
  13. that's right... you go with another fabrication... cause you can! What part of still being an active employee of uOttawa are you choosing to ignore? What part of the guy being on a leave given to him by his employer (uOttawa) are you choosing to ignore? What part of tenure associated with ranked academia are you choosing to ignore? What part of the guy being an academic are you choosing to ignore? . .
  14. "So why is Boeing pushing the Super Hornet, and not the latest Eagle?" what's to pretend about? How does 'gap-filling interim' have any relevance to Boeing itself? Did you actually read the question you're replying to? .
  15. oh PIK! The guy was on leave from uOttawa... an academic returning, as planned, to his tenured position to begin teaching again within the fall semester.
  16. if you say so! But... are you sure you've always provided cite attribution as to where you've sourced them from? Are you really, really sure? . so... you're now admitting to not properly source citing parts of your posts. Because... because... you're advised not to by those sites? Oh my! by the by... stating your reference sites don't want atheists visiting - is that like, "preaching to the converted only"? . the example of your usage that I highlighted most certainly was not "statement of fact"... it's certainly a part of your faith, but not factual. It may be common knowledge within your faith structure, otherwise not. but I'll ask you again: I provided a reference to one site (of 3 sites the tool I used found) that matched your multi-sentence paragraph wording... those 3 sites had identical wording to each other. For some reason your phrased structure wasn't exact; that is to say, you juggled words around slightly (or your non-attributed source site did), but the meaning/intent was identical. It's odd that, "factual common knowledge" would be shifted around slightly. Someone skeptical might think the 'juggle/shift' was used to give an appearance of uniqueness to counter possible claims of plagiarism. . so you say... well, except for those sites you claim ask you not to source cite them - except those, right? . if your 'stifling' presumes upon not permitting plagiarism or presumes upon not allowing cross-posting, I presume your 'stifling' concerns are misplaced and misconstrued. .
  17. whoa! The focus was on the Danes review of the F-35... and somehow you shifted to "service life". Let's recap: for their competition you suggested the Danes would have used the "F-35 Block 3F... or better!". Somehow you chose to ignore my pointed emphasis on the quoted statement that "completion of Block 3F development/testing by July 2017 is not realistic"... and you wouldn't bite when I asked you who said that! Now, of course, we know the evaluations within these competitions have been based on "specifications not yet realized/proven"... "on paper"! Argus... are you hearing this? but yes, as you say, "one of the key points of the whole (F-35) program..... "risk mitigation". Now, the significantly reduced numbers of committed purchases for partner nations (down considerably from initial commitments) is a direct reflection on "risk mitigation" - yes? That, and the significant cost of the F-35 and the long history of delay upon delay... there's that too in dropping those commitment numbers which, of course, means nothing in terms of what actual (eventual) purchase numbers transpire. so, in the case of the Danes, a part of their risk mitigation saw them reducing their commitment numbers from 48, to 30 to the eventual purchase of 27... to start in 2021 and complete in 2027. And pushing the start out to 2021 is also a part of that risk mitigation you highlight... since 2021 is ~2 years after the much promised 2019 full-rate production. But who other than LockMart marketing/sales believes that date... or do think they really believe it themselves? but on the overall risk mitigation: how much of joining and staying in the program is an attachment to risk mitigation? ... hopefully believing that LockMart (and the funding/driver resources of the U.S. military) will "just make it happen". Why, just look at the F-22 to realize just what can be done when the might of LockMart/U.S. military bear down to produce ... oh, right... sorry, carry on... risk mitigating! .
  18. U.S. policy... dictated by Israel! Why Only Israel Can Customize America’s F-35
  19. uhhh, no - but that's not the point in terms of the original question... and your subsequent answer. You suggested the Danes evaluated "Block 3F... or better" - or better! Now, that's still "on paper" right? But if completion of 'development/testing for Block 3F as July 2017... isn't even realistic... how could the Danes be using it as a part of their evaluation of the F-35 in the just completed competition? .
  20. what's the 'Canada need/role' to align with your F-15 promotion? .
  21. who said this: "The current 'official schedule' to complete full development and testing of all Block 3F capabilities by 31 July 31, 2017 is not realistic." .
  22. again, think Advanced Super Hornet or upgraded Super Hornet... notwithstanding who around here is forever decrying the Super Hornet as old... and not being updated anymore:
