Is the US dollar the next bubble to burst?
maple_leafs182 replied to Pliny's topic in Business and Economy
Na, I'm not selfish like that, I don't want to see people suffer and many will. The system is stupid. agreed They should of let all the too big to fails that were failing fail, it would of hurt I know, but what they did to try and save the economy is now going to make it hurt more and last longer. See, stuff like this is why having a monetary based economy is stupid. We shouldn't have to worry about stuff like this ever happening. I propose a better way, resource based economy. It is more logical, the wealth of the world would be in the hands of all the people and not the hands of a few. (When the dollar falls, silver and gold will shoot up, buy some now) -
not force people to do anything they didn't want to do. I don't believe in force. Just give them a place to call home.

you're right, not insane, that was a harsh thing to say. Providing for your family isn't wrong, I never said it was. I just think of all of us as one big family. We aren't taking care of our family. Is it wrong if you take food from a store without paying because you can't afford to buy it. You then use that food to feed your family. Is it still wrong, its still breaking the law. Then why do we have the poor, to scare the hell out of the middle class so they will continue going to their jobs. People will do some evil things to get a little more green in their pockets, why do you think gangs exist. Not everyone is motivated by money, some people just love what they do, love is there motivation. What was Tesla motivated by.. Why would life never get better off? Do you invent things now and why would people stop inventing. Whats considered a good life, Owning a big house and owning lots of things? Agreed, but our present will be our children's history. We can manipulate what we become. I wouldn't say its nonsense, it is possible. All we need is a little love. I just googled it, not to sure how it applies here. -

Since the Federal Reserve came into play, the dollar has lost 95% of its value. Inflation. The more they put out, the less it will be worth. Countries won't continue to hold dollars if the dollar keeps losing value, that would be stupid for them, they would lose too much money holding on to them. http://dollardaze.org/blog/posts/00751/mb.png If they continue to print this money to try and avoid a depression that is unavoidable at this point, the dollar will just continue to lose value. As of right now, it doesn't seem like they have any plans on shutting down the printing press. This isn't good, hyperinflation can and by the looks of it will be a reality in America. -

maybe it is just the people that are insane, most can't see passed dollar signs. We have no sense of right or wrong. Why not bring the rich down to the level of the poor. Lets put our luxuries aside, can't take them with you when you die. In the Nature vs Nurture debate, I side with nurture. Our passed may be responsible for who we are today, but we are responsible for who we become. -
Your welcome, but you missed my point. I resource based economy would be all the people of the planet working together and becoming rich together. Instead of what we got going on now, individuals getting rich and the rest being left out in the rain.

I wish Canada had a soul, maybe we wouldn't be fighting in Afghanistan and we wouldn't allow people to freeze on the streets because they don't have paper in their pockets. Canada was bought and sold a while ago. Why do we split these states when their can only be one, United States of Eurasia. One world, one people. How many world wars will it take for us to learn.

maple_leafs182 replied to Pliny's topic in Business and Economy
None, buy precious medals, gold and silver. They will shoot up when the dollar comes down. This is why gold has been going up the passed few years, the dollar has been going down. I guess it's a combination of both, supply and demand. But the more you more you put into circulation the more you dilute the value, I'm not wrong. True, but the printing press will be the demise of the dollar. -
Na, democracy is the voice of the mob, the mob can be easily influenced and manipulated. We saw this in Germany in WW2. The masses do ultimately have the power but it doesn't matter if they don't realize that. We elect politicians and give them these titles like their opinions are greater then mine or yours but they are nothing more then people just like me or you. In the states the Federal Reserve is an independent 3rd party regulator for the banks and look at how they are doing. I really think money should just be done away with already. Money tends to corrupt people. Resource based economy seems more beneficial to the masses then a money based economy. I have so many friends who are choosing their careers based on how much money it will put in their pockets in an attempt to buy happiness. They are missing the point, this is life, we are suppose to sing and dance the whole way through.

Power is the ability to influence major decisions. The people gave up the power a long time ago.

Is the US dollar the next bubble to burst?
maple_leafs182 replied to Pliny's topic in Business and Economy
Yes the dollar will come down. What determines the value of the currency is the amount in circulation. They are flooding the market with trillions of dollars, inflation is inevitable. If it looses too much value nations will drop it as the world reserve currency because they would be loosing too much money holding on to the dollar. This will lead to hyperinflation, the market will be flooded with dollars that nobody wants. Man, I hated paying $1.40/L for gas, what the hell is going to happen when it hits $3/L or more. -

I was going to reply to your posts, I even copied half of what I wrote because I didn't have time to finish it all. I think you aren't giving me any credit, I do understand how a lot of things work. You are just missing my point. Peter Schiff was actually on many main stream media networks telling us years before the recession started that there was going to be a recession and why the recession will happen. All the networks said he was wrong and some Fox news anchors actually laughed at him while he was warning us. He is now running for senate. We are currently relying on the same economists who didn't see the recession coming to tell us when we are going to be out. Idiocracy The game is rigged. How have you guys not noticed, You are trying to justify poverty, there is no justification, we are just a society based on greed. We don't work together to try to make life better for all of us, we work against each other only looking out for ourselves. The entire system is insane. Just for Bush Chaney, we live in the matrix, and yes people do control it. Blinded by propaganda. Everything is going to come down, we don't even have to live with the threat of something like this happening ever. Love should be our motivation for virtually everything, it's the only logical way. Lets open up our hearts with no fear of anything. -

Well I'm pretty sure we are headed into the greatest depression. Google either of these guys and listen to what they have to say. Peter Schiff, Marc Faber, Jim Rogers, Gerald Celente Many will suffer, its not worth it, system failure, lets devise up a new system that caters to all the people instead of just a small percent. Societal evolution. There is no time like the present. What the hell is so attractive about the system we have now. We really don't got a lot going for us and is just going to get worse. We haven't even solved poverty yet, poverty is the mother of crime. We have patents, we restrict people from using other peoples ideas. Why? I don't know what you guys see when you look at the world, all I see is oligarchs. -

I don't have all the answer nor am I always correct, this is why we have democracy, to learn and come to a higher understanding. Privatizing public debt is a problem. When you put all that power into few hands, it will corrupt. "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." If you don't see the danger of private banks, you will shortly. Private banks will bring America and many nations to their knees. He said Sorry man, you don't get to choose in this situation, your already an exemplary professional. What caused the entire financial crisis was America was over consuming. They were borrowing money they didn't have to buy stuff they couldn't afford. The government now is encouraging people to go into more debt and consume more to try and stimulate the economy. The problem was they were over consuming and in too much debt, how does consuming more and going into more debt solve the problem of over consumer and being in debt. They didn't solve any problem. The bailout bubble will kill the country. The country needs to start saving money and start producing more. The stimulus is producing practically nothing and it will all go away once the stimulus is done. The stimulus is whats propping up the economy, but it can't last forever. I don't know what else you need to know. What kind of evidence you want, you can see for your self that is exactly what is happening. From the Bank of Canada Website We people control the government, or at least the people should control the government. By extension we control the bank. I don't like our democracy. We should vote on ideas not politicians, so the overall idea is thought up by the people to benefit the people, the politicians would then only be the administrators of the peoples idea. That sounds more like a democracy to me. I think the whole system needs to be redesigned, what we have now doesn't work. -

The economy isn't growing, I mean it's a false recovery. Everything is going to come crashing down. It's just a matter of time. The standard of living for a lot of people will go down. DEPRESSIONS and RECESSIONS don't have to happen, do you guys not understand that. We make the game and the rules "Tell me why are we so blind to see that the ones we hurt are you and me?" This game sucks, too many people suffer, lets play something else. -

maple_leafs182 replied to maple_leafs182's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It should not be like this, fuck government incentive, it should be the peoples incentive. Billions of more dollars would flow into the governments hand thus leading to improved goods and services for the citizens, this would increase the standard of living for us all. It would redistribute a lot of the wealth to the people. Is that not a good enough incentive. If we feel government is corrupt, lets stop electing corrupt officials. Stop electing the people who don't care about us. Or maybe our form of democracy isn't the best, lets tweak it, make some changes. Get something that works. We've made mistakes, lets correct them. There is more money in business, why go into politics when you can simply buy politicians. -

The Banks loved giving loans to low income families because house prices were on the rise. Even if the family couldn't afford the mortgage, the bank would get the house which was worth more then the mortgage. That was fine and dandy for them till house prices dropped because of too many defaults and too many houses on the market. I know the government is to blame too, there was the Community Reinvestment Act passed by Carter 1977, it was then enforced on the banks by Clinton thanks to groups like Acorn(Barrack Obama was a lawyer of Acorn), and thus leading to the bubble. It is both of their faults, I'm gonna say this again, America is Fascist. Wall street and the government work together, and not to benefit the people, to benefit the rich, they are getting richer and more powerful. Simple, instead of people and companies going to private banks to get loans, they go to the Bank of Canada, since we own the Bank of Canada, all the billions of dollars of interest that these private bankers would of received go to the people instead That is it. Hey, if we wanna start fresh, transfer the loans from the private banks to the Bank of Canada, pay it off with Bank of Canada notes, then cancel the debt. It's our bank, we could do stuff like that. P.S. Private banks loan us money they don't have, then we pay them back with real money we get from our labor, we also pay back interest on the fake money they loan us. That is how new money is created in Canada. They just loan us bank receipts which are considered as good as money. Don't believe me, look it up. They create the money out of thin air they loan us, the Bank of Canada does the same, but at least if we loaned from the Bank of Canada, we would be loaning from ourselves. I don't think you really understand the problem. The problem was the people were buying stuff they couldn't afford with borrowed money. The problem was over consumption, now the government is encouraging them to go into more debt and consume more. They need to do the opposite, they need to start saving their money, stop consuming and start producing. What got them out of the depression in the 30's, World War 2, a productive capacity. They don't have that now. It is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. They need to abolish the Federal Reserve, that would solve many problems. Their government owes 13 trillion dollars to a private bank, how will they ever be able to pay that off? I don't like your thought process, your reasoning for attacking me are stupid, they don't attack what I'm saying they attack me personally. Yes the money was, and yes that was the reason. You don't get it, Depressions don't have to happen. Why do we self inflict wounds. We don't have to be banks/moneys bitches forever. I was thinking about that, but what's the point of a revolution if the people learn nothing, we need a revelation first. How does privatizing our debt make sense to anyone, I don't get it. It's not a fear of a depression, the depression is inevitable at this point. We are going to witness the greatest depression ever. I'm not trying to fear monger, but this will happen. It will all happen because of private banks and the governments that support them. Many will suffer and for what? It doesn't make any sense. -

Henry Paulson, George W. Bush's Secretary of the Treasury, former CEO of Goldman Sachs. Timothy Geithner, Barrack Obama's Secretary of the Treasury, former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York Wall Street hijacked Washington. I know the problem was they were giving loans to people who couldn't afford to pay it back. Too much debt was the problem and now the government is encouraging people to go into more debt with government incentives and putting interest rates near zero. The government is just making the problem worse. They should of let GM, Chrysler, AIG and whoever else fail and let capitalism work. The only thing propping up the economy is central banks world wide flooded the market with trillions of dollars, once that money stops flowing, reality will kick in. Money has to be in control of the people or crap like this happens. -

It has nothing to do with some obsession. I am just tired of seeing all the people of the world to being lied, deceived and taken advantage of everyday. I think your country learned a valuable lesson when they fought the revolutionary war. Sadly a lesson that has been lost in time. The people should always be in control of money, not banks. If you guys don't believe me that Nations can be brought to their knees by banks... America was the most prosperous nation in the world, now it is on the brink of an economic collapse sure to lay the country in ruin. I know the governments say we are in a recovery, it is a lie. I'm tired of being called a conspiracy theorist just because I don't agree with the government. If we always have to agree with the government, this isn't a democracy. Reality is going to kick in soon and everything is gonna come down. Either America will stop the stimulus and then take on the depression they caused trying to avoid the recession, or they will continue to try and spend their way out of debt, inflate their currency, other countries will eventually drop the American Dollar as the world reserve currency because they are losing too much money, the US dollar will then hyper inflate and America will have a currency crisis. I think either way a world depression is inevitable, America is the worlds largest economy, when they fall the world economy should take a pretty good hit. See why money must be controlled by the people. Money is considered wealth to us, the more money you have the more power and freedoms you have. If you control the wealth of the population you control the population. This is why it must always be in the hands of the people, not private bank(er)s. Banker quite literally control the world. It's sad to say but our future was bought and sold a long time ago. I have no reason to lie about any of this, I truly think this is the most important issue in the world and please debate me if you think I am wrong. -

America, before 1912 and the Federal Reserve. The American Revolution was fought over this. But the International Bankers regained control In 1912 or 1913 when the Federal Reserve Act was signed By then President Woodrow Wilson. John F. Kennedy Signed Executive order 11110 giving the treasury the power to print money backed by silver, he was assassinated 5 months later and no president has used the order since. Look at America now. The most debter nation in the world, one of the most hated, and one of the most corrupt. Does it not make sense for us to loan from ourselves instead of private banks. I didn't think so many people would disagree RBC made 1 billion dollars in Q1 2009, Canada would of got that money and used it on goods and services. How is this a bad idea. We currently use the system we have now...obviously, look at how the world is doing economically, terrible. So many nations are trillions or billions in debt and growing. International Bankers have hijacked the monetary system virtually world wide. As for wild bill, I never use the Post office, but If you don't like the way it is managed, that is a whole different story. -

maple_leafs182 replied to maple_leafs182's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If we can't trust our government, something is wrong. How does having private banks collect billions of dollars from us help us? IT DOESN'T. Why shouldn't the Canadian government collect that money and use it on goods and services to help the people. Why are we paying for peoples private jets. -
Right now if you want a loan you go to a bank, RBC, TD, BMO, Scotia, CIBC or maybe a credit Union. These are all Private corporations. We then pay a certain percent of interest on those loans, usually compounded. Right now, Our Federal and Provincial debts interest adds up to 160 million dollars a day. All this money goes to these private banks Banks reap in billions of dollars annually from profits. See the problem. Why do we loan from private banks. Why are we not loaning directly from the Bank of Canada so all those profits go to The Bank of Canada. Since the Bank of Canada is owned by the People, all that profit from the interest would be going back to the people instead of the hands of bankers. Why does the Bank of Canada contract its services to Private Banks who then reap the benefits. It is exactly like the government putting a direct tax on the people and writing the cheque to the bankers. Now see the problem? William Lyon Mackenzie King, 10th Prime Minister of Canada "Once a nation parts with the control of its currency and credit, it matters not who makes the nations laws. Usury, once in control, will wreck any nation. Until the control of the issue of currency and credit is restored to government and recognized as its most sacred responsibility, all talk of the sovereignty of parliament and of democracy is idle and futile." We don't have to live in a debt based economy like we do now. There is a reason why we don't learn the monetary/banking system in school, people would realize we are getting screwed over and take the power back. Want to hear the funny thing, we are told we have one of the healthiest bankings systems in the world. How so, we rob ourselves of billions and billions of dollars and give the money to bankers. Maybe healthy for the bankers. "The promise of yesterday are the taxes of today."
-
I'm sorry you are wrong. Banks don't have that money that they loan out, or at least they only have a small fraction of that money, usually 1:9. The money they loan is created out of nothing, it never existed prior to the loan. We then work to pay off those loans and we pay interest on those loans. The banks created the money they loan us out of thin air, and we labor to pay those loans back. We are getting screwed over. We should be loaning from ourselves, via the bank of Canada, so all the interest we pay would go back to us, instead we loan from private banks instead of ourselves. We now live in a debt based economy. That Bank act section 457. The primary reserve referred to in subsection (1)shall be nil, banks do not need to have a penny in their reserves to loan out money. If they do not have the money to loan us, where do they get it from? Thin Air. It's kind of ridiculous that we aren't taught how the banking/monetary system works in our country in school, but I guess if they did people would realize we are getting fucked over.
