Predicting the collapse isn't irrelevant. If people don't understand how the problem came to be then they won't know how to solve it. Ron Paul isn't dead wrong, just because rates haven't gone up yet doesn't mean they won't. Yes, the Fed is bringing the rates down temporarily by printing money but that can't last forever, I don't know why you think it can. As long as America continues the same fiscal and monetary policies you will see the economy getting weaker and the dollar keep falling...2008 will be a walk in the park compared to the economic crash that will take place in the near future. Dre, Ron Paul doesn't want to link the dollar back to gold he said he to end the Fed's monopoly by legalizing competition. If you read the constitution it gives congress authority to mint gold and silver coins so I assume that is what he would do. So there would be dollars for the folks who want dollars and gold and silver for people who want an alternative.

Ron Paul is the smartest candidate when it comes to monetary policy. The reason the US dollar is so strong is because people are scared of Europe so they are pulling their money from Europe and putting it in US because they think it is safer. If the Fed wasn't printing money to cover the American governments debts then rates on bonds would rise significantly. If you think printing money to cover debt is sustainable then you are wrong. Do you know how much millions if not billions of dollars have been robbed from savers by keeping interest rates artificially low? But I guess if wall street is showing profits that is all that matters. I don't know why you think Keynesian are so smart even though most didn't predict the collapse. The dollar will collapse eventually if America continues the same policies, if you aren't going to set up your investments for a post dollar world then you will see lots of your wealth disappear.

I can't speak on behalf of all Ron Paul supporters but none that I have talked to support Ron Paul because they believe he is anti-semetic or because they are anti-semetic and they want Israel to fall. They like his views of ending the wars and getting out of entangling alliances.

I agree. IMO I think monty has a biased against Ron Paul and no matter what Paul does monty will spin it as a negative.

Ron Paul isn't racist. I have listening to him for 4 to 5 years and he has never said anything remotely racist, I don't think true civil libertarians can be racist. As for his policies Paul would hurt the rich not the middle class and poor. The thing Paul talks about the most is central banking and the monetary system which I think most people don't really understand how it works and what impact it has on their lives. Establishing policies that would eventually end the Fed would hurt the mega banks, mega corporations and the rich that own them the most.

Some people are claiming the Ron Paul the civil libertarian is a racist because of some newsletter he didn't write in the 90's. It really doesn't make much sense and all the Ron Paul supporters I have talked to see right threw the BS. I guess the MSM doesn't really have any dirt on Ron Paul because he has been so consistent so they have to take things that other people have said in the name or Ron Paul and claim it as Ron Paul saying it.

That is not true, there are many democrats that would vote for Paul over Obama. Have you ever heard of blue republicans, democrats switching to the republican party to vote for Ron Paul because they like his message. Aren't most democrats against wars, against giving special privileges to corporations, pro civil liberties? I don't understand people, Ron Paul is clearly the best candidate for president. Senate past the NDAA 86-13...its heading to Obama now. In this bill it calls for tougher sanctions on Iran. I also heard that Greece is no longer allowed to buy oil from Iran...so along with that and these new sanctions, together are destroying Iranians the ability to make a living. I don't know if some people are happy about that but it is these kinds of things that make people hate us. I think we will see things escalate with Iran going into next year. Next year looks like it is going to be a very dark year.

What is the case against communism because it sounds really good to me. I have heard some people say it failed because it had supply and demand issues but couldn't that problem be solved by using the internet and computers to track supply and demand.

I've tried reading the bible, I got bored of it and quit reading it early on. The Communist Manifesto is rather short read and it makes some fair points. I don't agree with it %100 or anything but it was still good.

The government intervened during the great depression that is why it lasted so long. Look at the depression in 1920 or maybe it was 1919...anyways, the government didn't get involved and it only lasted one year. Also, if you calculate unemployment rate the same way they did during the great depression, unemployment is around 22 percent now.
