  1. I heard Harper is more machine then man.....twisted and Evil Iraq- martin hasn't ruled out going through NATO, and Jean may supported it had it been done through the UN......regardless, Jean never pulled our exchange troops out of American units.....couldn't have minded it that much...... Missile defence- Martin also agrees here.....perhaps it's you/your party that is not mainstream? Immigration- Doesn't Harper also want to allow skilled immigrants regonition of past training when they move to Canada......much like the NDP? Reagonomic tax cuts- Didn't Martin offer up close the same size cuts under Jean in 2000? Restricting a woman's right to choose- Where did he say he would do that? Banning same sex marriage- Where did he say he would do that? I think in the case of both your examples, he said he would allow Parliment decide.... Perhaps it's you that is not mainstream......
  2. Yes Slavik, it clearly marks you as potential prey to the elitist left wing that believe that based on your spelling, you clearly can't look after yourself, and because of that you should entitle all your earnings to a bloated, bureaucratic government that knows whats best for the feeble minded such as yourself I've never heard such bloody tripe and pure and utter snobbery in all my life caesar..much akin to the Liberal attitude that if your not a Liberal, your not a true Canadian......
  3. maplesyrup, you are correct, I am no going to admit that yes, Comrade Jack will be our Prime Minister in a little over 19 days, and because of that, I've now given up complete hope on Canada and have now found my future home: Our only hope So I now urge all of my fellow Conservatives to join me in this new "Exodus" to the new promise land, I think that we should elect Harper as our new Moses.....
  4. Are we reading the same thread? I've been saying that the Americans don't really care about our opinions for a while........And I for one would like to change that...(in a positive direction. I don't want nor do I expect for Americans to become "weak behind the knees" at the thought of Canada, but I would like a little respect/regoniction (as I'm sure most Canadians would).....and like they say, respect is earned, not demanded, so let's get on with it. Reagan "suddenly" became a great leader after he defeated the Peanut farmer in the 1980 election....... Something to do with ending the Cold War, and jump starting the American economy, which sadly, took longer then expected, and the rewards landed in the lap of Bubba.....
  5. At the end of the day, do really think that the American government, and most important of all, the average American, really care what Canadians (or most other nations) think, just so long as it dosen't affect them?
  6. I'm all for Harper's idea of giving more power to the Provinces, but as a Anglo Canadian, I don't want this to appear as pandering to Quebec and the rest of Canada gets to join in on the "fun". I want this to appear as what is best for Canada as a whole, and what is best for the ten provinces, of which Quebec is one. All for one......one for all I guess
  7. Has American been attacked since 9/11? I guess those "reckless and vile aggressive acts of the present American government" have been working quite well lately. Us or them really wouldn't you think? And I agree with Argus, the current government has been doing quite close to sweet fany adams about terrorism and security. I don't know what I fear most, a terror attack in Canada, or a terror attack in the States that is proven to have been launched from Canada.......
  8. I doubt it is that America really "encourages opposite opinions", more so that they don't really care about "opposite opinions"......... Trudeau going to Cuba was not really that big of a deal to them.......no harm, no foul. But as we can be given clear proof by recent events and looking back at history, when a country goes from yapping at the yanks to bitting them......watch out.
  9. I agree about the anti-US agenda within the NDP, but I diagree about Layton having Balls.....I think he has rocks .....In his head Thats why I very much beleive that the leadership of both the NDP and the Bloc are very dangerous to Canadians. Not only because they will destroy this country (financially or physically) if either was to ever gain an once of real power, but by their actions, I trully fear the potentail American responce. Does Comrade Organizer Jack Layton really think that Canada is in the postion to play hardball with the Americans over softwood lumber/Mad Cow by using Quebec Hydro Power as an example. What do you really think the Americans would do if we told them that we were going to turn the power switch off on millions of Americans?
  10. And what is that content?
  11. I don't know that Trudeau would be welcome.......I'd see what Brain is doing (if he is not going already) and ask him to go to represnet Canadians......I still think Martin should be there. Edited to Add: Maybe we should plan ahead and ask Harper to go
  12. Ahh yes, with such formor world leaders as Thatcher and Gorbachov attending, not too mention many other Current Heads of State.......we will send Ann McLellan or Bill Graham
  13. I understand that Comrade Organizer Jack Layton, if elected, will lobby the United States to "toughen up" on gun control.......After cleaning up the mess caused by my beverage going through my nose on to the carpet do to my laughter, I realized that Jack really is insane. Does Jack and the NDP now think that not only will Canada benefit from moving away from our close (yet strained) relationship with the States, but that Canada should now tell the United States how to run it's own house?
  14. So are you saying that there are still people in Quebec that want to leave Canada? *Yawns*
  15. [sarcasm]What No way.......get off the sauce buddy.......I'll predict a Conservative sweep in Quebec [/sarcasm]
  16. IMHO, Campbell is an idiot........the whole drunk driving thing and all......Even though I'd like to see sombody of Kleins mold as premeir of BC, I'll give Campbell his dues, at least he is trying to change the direction this province was starting to go after years of the NDP.....and the fact of the mater, people are afraid of change........I'd prefer a proper Conservative Government in BC (but I won't hold my breath), but I'd rather have Campbell then the NDP....hell I'd rather the Greens before the NDP
  17. That little Elf????? sure, why not.
  18. Since nobody else is going to, I'll dumb down for you: Did you ever think that, unlike the Liberals and NDP, the Conservatives believe that adults should be treated as adults, Hence, most adults are more then able to look after themselves and don't require big government to hold their hand all the time.
  19. There is a difference between the payscale for an officer and an enlisted man....... Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm all for bringing back "pride" to our Armed Forces, and purchasing all sorts of "uber goodies", but that still does not change the fact that we should be looking at the problems with retention. I'm not saying that this should be an either or issue, both need to be addressed.......I'm all for buying LHDs, new Destroyers, Tanks, Heavy Airlift and increasing the manpower within the forces, but well we are doing that, we should be also putting money aside for new PMQs, some sort of further tax break for serving members or a wage increaes that will mirror the pay of a job in the private sector, perhaps full/part time civilian employment on base for spouses in remote locations......etc etc No point buying all the toys if we won't have anybody to run them.
  20. Are you related to Joe13?
  21. Yes, pride is important.......but as I've said, "pride" can't always compete with the private sector. Say you were a plumber or a heavy duty mechanic in the forces, are you going to: A. stay in the forces after three years, make less money and go leave your familiy for extended periods of time. -OR- B. Leave the forces after three years, make more money in the private sector, and stay home with the "wife and kids". Now lets have an honest answer?
  22. You know a real live Frenchmen What is he kept in the Calgary Zoo?
  23. How is he supposed to get expereince without being given the chance?
  24. When is the first one? Is it on the tube? and I'm guessing if it is, it will be on CPAC/CBC...right? I agree, it should be intresting......even though I think they are all a lot of nut bars, I would have liked the Greens there....for $hits and giggles of course
  25. Nope.....granted I can't read though....being a western redneck and all
