  1. Didn't Pettigrew also have a bit of a faux pas?
  2. Of course they do, thats why the feel the need to "take care" of us from the cradle to the bloody grave........ I also find it strange how the NDP claims to look after the "little guy", but most of these "snobbish views" come from them.........
  3. Of all the current Conservative MPs in BC, how many were CA vs PC............Yeah not a single "Harper fanatic".......there is more to BC then Granville and Robson Would it be fair to say that BC has alot of Dummies because we have voted in NDP governments? I'm not a fan of the Libs, and I'd prefer a "stronger" provincal Conservative party, but I'll vote Green or Social Credit before I bloody well vote for the NDP....... Let me remind you also, that those "Lawyers, bankers, and stock market people" are not the vast majority of British Columbians...and let me also remind you, that the Conservatives don't have the same snobbish views of the "common folk" as you Limosine Left wingers do.....so you can go shove your "knowledgeable and intelligent " views up your arse.........
  4. Thats on the "extreme" edge of the scale.......The Spanish and British built or are building a "hybrid carrier" for half a billion euros, which is still under a billion per..... The Australians just bought about 60 rebuilt Abrams tanks, three years ammo, spares, tanker trucks, transporter trucks, simulators etc for 500 million......The Liberals plan on buying the same amount of the untested, lighter armed, lighter armoured Mobile Gun System for over 600 million........what type of pork is that? Who's riding is GM deisel in? Yes, because the government for almost 40 years have neglected the forces, and because of that, it's going to cost an arm and a leg to rebuild it.....if we had of been reponsible, we wouldn't be in this state...... In fairness to BD, the F-35, when you factor in dev costs, spares, simulators etc, will cost more then the Super Hornet......IIRC, the Brits figure on paying about 7 billion pounds for a 150.....you do the math. With that said, when 2015 comes around, we will have to bite the bullet and pay that to replace the (buy then) close to 40 year old Hornets No we do need tanks, and that is what the Cons are talking about......as for the JSF.....we all ready put a quarter of a billion dollars into the program so we can bid on contracts (support Quebec aerospace industry perhaps?)......I'm sure that will be the direction we will be going in in about 10-12 years from now. The point I'm making is that we are going to have to tighten our belts and suck it up and start paying to defend ourselves.......and all the NDP lovers should put this into persepective, because if we pulled out of NATO and Norad, we would have to pay a hell of alot more to defend ourselves........
  5. I heard Harper eats cute (only the cute ones) little puppies and kills baby seals for fun
  6. I only counted 11........if you had of had that 12th one.....I would have changed me mind Wasn't it Layton that said Harper is just a faster Paul Martin? If thats the case, I want things done fast....... Whats Paul Martin going to be doing on June 29th? Going back to CSL perhaps.....golfing? Does Paul Martin Golf?
  7. That was in 72.......the only reason I know, I watched the two hour Biography on Trudeau on Sunday.....IIRC it was in responce to his slight win over the Tories, after basing his campaign on "logic"....
  8. So if people from BC (which I'm one) think the Right is "scary", why is it that the majority of BC ridings are Conservative?
  9. I'm first to admit that I've some bias because I'm a Conservative voter, but aside from the first 15-20 minutes, I'd say Harper looked like the true Statesman. IMHO, he seemed very calm, cool and collected, and I'm positive that he will be our next Prime Minister. As for the other leaders, I tend to agree with most that Layton looked like a Clown........I've always thought that his politics were a joke, but I had some extent of respect for him because he appears to truely believe what he is saying (no mater how nutty).....after tonight though, my god.....All he needed was a Big Cowboy hat, two six guns and to be sitting on top of a elephant trying to sell a 1986 Dodge mini van with no brakes........ WRT Martin, he looked like a cross between a defendent in a white collar criminal trail and the guy on the cover of the Monoploy board game..... As for Duceppe, I always thought of him as being as the same cut as the NDP, with exception that he wants his own country..........I was actually quite impressed, and if it wasn't for the fact that he is a separatist, and say not the leader of the Libs/NDP, I'd acutally be quite worried for Harper.......Thank god that he is kinda on our side Very clever man, just don't like his politics, which is what I used to think of Layton (not any more).
  10. I tend to agree with maplesyrup, in that i don't think that Harper did that great.......don't think he did bad, just not great.....With that said, it's not like the Conservatives are going to lose votes in Quebec because of that performance...........I did like the part where Harper said to Layton something along the lines, that Layton would like to live on a different planet then the Americans Oh well, IMHO, all three leaders made Martin look like a boob..... "is Healthcare better today then it was 13 years ago?" "how much money is left in the EI fund?" "No we don't agree on anything"
  11. Or use Jews... Or use Blacks...... Or use Women...... Or use Christains Or use gun Owners Or use Westerners etc etc How about if a person kills another person in the first degree, we punish them equaly?
  12. Like I already said, I too would like more freedom given to my province......With that said, the Bloc won't solve the problems that face Quebec, just like the Reform Party was not able to solve the problems that the west faced. In the end, running away from your problems (separation) won't solve your problems, whether you're BQ or reform. IMHO, the best way to solve "beefs" with Ottawa are to work to change it from the inside, which Harper will work to do.
  13. BQSupporter, I agree with you 110% that Canadians deserve justice with regards to the sponsorship scandel, there sit in total agreement. I can also understand any Province (Quebec included) wanting to have more control over such things as education, healthcare etc......I do truely believe that certain needs/services will/would be different in Quebec to say British Columbia, and because of that, people in Quebec or BC know whats best for themselves, so I fail to see why the provinces shouldn't have total control in some areas.....Let the people of Quebec, BC, and the rest of the other provinces run their own house to larger extent... This is where I think that not only the Federal Conservatives and Quebec can come into agreement, but the other 9 Provinces as well. With that said, I'm 100% opposed to Quebec separation. Not only do i think that talk of separation hurts the country, but it also hurts Quebec.......Who in their right mind would want to invest in a unstable Country and namely that countries unstable province? Let's lose the separation talk, but at the same time, let's give the Canadian provinces (which Quebec is very much a part) more power to run their own day to day needs.
  14. I wouldn't say I'm being self-centered, and yes i do prefer discussing issues that are more "concrete", but in this thread, I feel the need to make a point pertaining to this thread.......quality. It's quite easy to call a person a Nazi when they don't agree with you eh?
  15. I'll answer your question, only after you answer the one I asked you in the post above it........ Me thinks your the one stalling........ And if you were not so blinded by your bigotry, you would have noticed that your question was answered before you asked it....
  16. I don't care to debate with a Nazi......
  17. Why not go after the people breaking the laws, instead of making new ones up? You know what one of the first things your buddy Hitler did when he took over........gun control...figures you would be in favor of it you Nazi scum.
  18. I'm sorry takeanumber, I never argued with your point of views for the most part, but thought you to be quite harmless.............but now your true Nazish colors have come out.....people like you make me sick, almost as sick as the elite left that think thye should hold the hand of the average Canadian.......
  19. So your idea or that of the Libs, is going to cut down on organized crime? Illegal firearms?........or are they to cut down on farmers/hunters/and general gun lovers/collecters?
  20. As I said before, why have certain laws for certain people? I thought we were all equal? Or is it that you feel some people/races/genders/religions/sexual orintations are weaker then others, thus need special protection? I'd think the only "group" that needs "special protection" are children.......... Do you feel a Jew/Black/Women/Gay is inferior to a white man.......perhaps you are the true Nazi. I feel that every adult is equal, regardless as to what "group" they belong to, and any crime committed against any of these "groups" should recieve an equaly harsh punishement. So again takeanumber, which people do you believe to be inferior to white males?
  21. Of all the murders in Canada each year by guns, how many of those guns were legal? I'm quite sure the Hells Angles will be more then willing to register their Hand guns and Assault rifles Or under your plan, I'm quite sure all the crimials within a "gun free city" will be quite willing to move to a "pro gun city" so as to not break the city by-law.......
  22. I've no problem with having people from Quebec in government (be they Tories), I just don't agree with a party that wants to split up the country and will use that threat as a form of extortion.
  23. caesar, explain to this poor uneducated western redneck, how the NDP would hold the balence of power if the seat projections are going to look something like this: Tories: 120 Grits: 108 Bloc: 55 NDP: 25 Now please, I don't fathom how "25" NDP seats are more important then "55" Bloc seats? please explain.
