Ugghh, c'mon guys don't be so naive. Mr. Harper will be able to govern as if he has a majority for a little while as no one party will be able to risk putting us back to the polls so soon. The Liberals cannot afford an election nor do they have a leader, the NDP would lose the seats they gained and the BQ would push many of those gains right to the Conservatives as they would be able to say that they tried to make it work but they wouldn't let us. Mr. Harper will get a few of his pet projects through for a while then things will calm down and he will work with other parties and things will be much as they were before this election. The sky won't fall and Canada will not become an ultra right wing nation, calm down. Fiscally responsible isn't so bad.

Harper reveals six-point economic plan
Mr.Canada replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What was he to say in an election? That he thought it was a great idea? If that was suggested then his handlers should be fired. It's just the game of politics as far as I can see. Absorb, deflect, repackage and voila a solution has been found. -
I listened to a few of this young mans interviews after his successful campaign and I must say that I was impressed with his poise and control. He actually has some personality not like Harper who seems devoid of expression at times. I would probably vote for him if he were in my riding and may support the Liberals in 10-15 years when he takes the reins. That however will depend on how he explains himself for his book in which he pretty much puts Fidel Castro and the whole communist system on a pedestal. He wrote it a few years ago and people mature and views change I understand that. He will have to answer for them at some point if he sticks with politics, trust me.

Harper reveals six-point economic plan
Mr.Canada replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hey, no one party has the monopoly on good ideas. Just because an idea is first brought up by a Liberal should it be excluded. We all want what is best for our country no matter of political stripe, I'm sure we can all agree. Everything cannot be partisan or nothing at all would get done which serves no one. -
Harper reveals six-point economic plan
Mr.Canada replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Would have been nice to hear of a Liberal plan, too bad Dion was too busy trying to explain a new Tax which he couldn't do in either language. Oh that and attack Harper which clearly worked great, keep up the good work! -
Last night, the best leader out of the choices given was taken. Plain and simple. Mr. Harper, love him or hate him was miles ahead of the rest of the field in terms of experience, vision, tact and delivery and Canada agreed with vigor. Liberals and others may say what they want but if this wasn't so then your person would have won. Mr. Harper isn't this big scary person he is constantly portrayed, if he were we would have seen evidence of that by now so give it up please. Lefties don't like him because he doesn't bend to the loudest minority so easily as a Liberal would, scrambling so as to not upset anyone. Plain and simple.

LIberals + NDP will only be about 110 seats not enough to form a coalition. -
If the Liberals get in, what should the west do?
Mr.Canada replied to TCCK's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
They always will as it does in almost every civilized nation on Earth. -

I agree with you, we do have a great many things going for us atm but those things will dwindle down further and further as more and more strain is added to our system. It is already happening with healthcare as many things are not covered by OHIP anymore that used to be in the 70's and 80's when immigration was limited and controlled. -
Isn't it time to slow down immigration?
Mr.Canada replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I agree we need skilled workers/professionals not unskilled refugees who work for only the minimum of wages. We need to close the door on the unskilled refugees and open the door to professionals. See, you finally agree with my point. Thank you. -
If the Liberals get in, what should the west do?

The quality of life in Switzerland is so much higher then here. The Swiss have much higher wages and take care of there own first and have tightly controlled immigration. Seems to work great for them, thus proving my original sentiment. -

The only places that have many openings are low paying hospitality jobs. Medium regular please. We DO need skilled people with the relevant credentials/experience that will better Canada. We don't need any more family refugees that have neither and will be a drag on our system. -

The best country in the world definitely not. I'd rather live in 1.Switzerland 2.Australia 3.New Zeland All three are superior to Canada. -

Mr.Canada replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
People are losing jobs, people are not getting good paying jobs back and in addition they must compete for these limited jobs with new comers. who will work for a lower wage then a naturalized Canadian might. Is that a situation that ensures higher wages? -

Well, smallc and PC that's is the reality. Sorry you fail to grasp basic math. People are losing jobs, people are not getting good paying jobs back and in addition they must compete for these jobs with new comers. who will work for a lowe wage then a naturalized Canadian might. Is that a situation that ensures higher wages? Please tell me it is, I need a good laugh. -
If the Liberals force an election in January they will be committing political suicide. The same thing was said after 2006 and that didn't happen either. It's too bad the left didn't have you two for consultants, the CPC would be better off.

It's common sense. I won't indulge your strawman. Thank you. -
NDP has largest campaign carbon footprint: analyst
Mr.Canada replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Interesting to see. Carbon credits are bunk however. -
I have no idea what that first part means but I understand the last part. So your answer is to do nothing but wait for the next election, got it. Thank you for your post.

The person with the most votes wins, perfect. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Also your vote is worth $2 to the party you voted for. EDIT- Alta - absolutely correct. IF these people go back to the 1997 and 2000 elections and add up the total from the Reform and PC's they would have lost that election by a long shot.

There is a loophole in the statute which is what was used. If the Tories did anything illegal do you think that everyone would be so quiet about it? They would be screaming bloody murder from the rooftops. Give it a rest already. Can we please try to stay on topic please?

Imagine how it'd be if half of the ones that are locked were out on the streets. Well it is all we can do as we don't have the Death Penalty, too bad if you ask me I'm sure they'd be really responsive to some nice counseling right?

I like the Green party. They have some good ideas. I'll stipulate the other quotes. 900k-1.5 mil

This was suggested on this forum about 9 -12 months ago and everyone called the poster paranoid, now you all agree with this that it is happening...lol. Too funny. Whats the big deal anyways. They have the EU and that is running well. No big deal. It will be the same thing. We'll have our country currency as well as the Amero. Great! -
