Harper accepts gift of fancy cowboy boots from Bush
PoliticalCitizen replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I agree. It's a gift from one old dumb ass of state to the middle-aged autoritarian midsection of another. -
Do we owe any loyality to the Queen?

You probably feel really good showing me how smart you are Either explain yourself or stop posting riddles. -
Do we owe any loyality to the Queen?
PoliticalCitizen replied to Hcheh's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And you are totally rude as usual, but that's beside the point. I do not hate the queen. I did swear allegiance. That was for the gain of Canadian citizenship. My questioning of whether Canada should continue being a Monarchy does not break my oath. I love my country -
Why do we have a Governor General?
PoliticalCitizen replied to PoliticalCitizen's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Only to people who rush to decisions. There are no Canadian royalties and yet we have a royalty who is not Canadian. If we indeed like Monarchy so much could we not have had a Canadian king or queen? Why borrow the England's? -

Well then you explain to me what Canada really is, cause there are no Canadian kings or queens yet we have one. -

Pardon me for not running a spellcheck on my fourth language What is the FLQ crisis? -
Evidence is within us. You feel the difference. You can measure different energetic levels but the "scale" is individual and personal. There are no "units". You can say you've achieved a small transformation (and there can be many such "transformations") once you became stable on a higher level. Now if you're genuinely interested I could tell you more or you could just start reading on your own. If you were trying to provoke me into sharing a "revelation" - give it a rest. I used to be a staunch materialist

Owning a gun does not "lead" to something else. It is a materialized expression of a will to KILL. -
Gun Control Doesn't work...Never did, Never will!
PoliticalCitizen replied to wulf42's topic in Political Philosophy
When you take a look at a medieval instrument such as an iron maiden, do you see it as a work of art? Maybe an agricultural device? Or a time-travel module? Does your mind decide an iron maiden is deadly? Or beautiful? I sense there's a great difference between how you and I interpret reality... -

Hahahaha... You really went out of your way trying to describe shit in a way that doesn't stink... Why would you be delivering bullets? To IM with your friend? Oh, you can try this: To temporarily or permanently disable some or all vital functions of a living organism, sometimes causing property damage via high-velocity impact... It's still KILL. -
Why do we have a Governor General?
PoliticalCitizen replied to PoliticalCitizen's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I am proud. I want Canada to become the leading country in the world in all respects. One of the most important factors a country is judged by is its social organization. It is hard to move forward when you haven't freed yourself from the authocratic past. We're no longer a colony, we don't want to be a dominion, we don't need a foreign ruler. -
We only got into the whole supplement and natural remedy discussion because of the C51 bill. I personally believe that everything is controlled by energy. As I said before - there are many ways to increase your energy levels: healthy lifestyle (physical and spiritual), meditation, practice of eastern energy techniques (tai-chi, chi-gong, etc.), nutritional supplements, natural remedies, falling in love, self-actualization etc. Obtaining a stable higher energy level transforms your life - you become happier, feel better, do more, tire less, etc. Each chooses what fits him the most. I think a combination of approaches works best.

Don't dump history - keep it. What I say is "Constitutional Monarchy" should become history We (the Immigrants) don't need it, find it archaic (even more than the electoral system) and insulting Let the queen of England occupy her rightful place in the history books, not on our currency. -
Do we owe any loyality to the Queen?
PoliticalCitizen replied to Hcheh's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That might have been relevant in 1867. I can't think of anyone I know (and I came to know quite a few people) that would dedicate any thoughts to, much less respect and definitely don't LOVE the queen of England. I do not believe English Monarchy really represents the will of Canadian people. -
The Federal Republic of Canada

As I said in the other thread I find the concept of Monarchy itself insulting. As a free man the last thing I want to be is "subject" to an authoritarian entity. -

With a quarter of a million new immigrants each year, none of whom have any particularly good feelings for the English queen or Monarchy in general I think it is time for us as a nation to make the next evolutionary step and leave the colonial past behind. -

Quebec aside, I think our country needs to move away from its colonial past and start looking into the futre. Let UK have their queen, let us have our democracy. -

Oh wow! I think it's the highest Green popularity I've ever seen! And 20% for NDP? Incredible! Well, now Harper's minority will have to deal with real opponents, not spineless Liberals... I bet his second minority will be as short-lived as the first one should have been
