Well at least he's not Prime Minister yet. Umm, I know Americans don't like to be told they're wrong (I quess in that respect they have something in common with Al Qaeda), but I think Amerikanskis is actually spelled A-R-K-A-N-S-A-S. Don't feel too bad though...I don't think many people from there can spell it either. Arkansas...a computer in every school by 2015!!!!

Conservatism vs Libertarianism in Canada
the janitor replied to Machjo's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I apologize Mr. Bush_Cheney, for the political lunacy of some of my fellow Canadians! I'd let Sarah Palin do whatever she wants. Does that qualify me as a conservative libertarian? -
Ah yes, Mr Michael Ignatieff...another American! What's he been doing lately? Oh yes, yap yap yap yap...

Heaven help us, Emeril Lagasse is now in charge of foreign policy! Next thing you know Ronald McDonald will be on the dollar bill! -
"the situation for the Palestinian people is intolerable."

The Palestinians look like they hold more power with the United States with Obama in the White House. Hamas and Al Qaeda will poop all right...all over Ameriqa! -
Oh sure..."who cares if there really are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, saying so serves our purpose." Good God man! Why are you still around? You keep saying the same things over and over and over again. There's even a new president in Washington, and he does the same thing you do: yap yap yap.... And Hillary Clinton, my God when will the world be rid of this woman? Canadians don't need Americans telling us what to do or think. America under Bush screwed up big time. Why can't Americans see what the rest of the world sees, how shameful America is, then maybe they could all just shut up for a year and give the rest of the world a break... ...except for Sarah Palin (hugs and kisses); her voice is lovely:-)

They have to prove she acted outside her legitimate role as governor. There are other issues involved, ones in which the governor has every right to fire the guy. I hope she gets away with it 'cause I like her. If it was Hillary on the other hand, I'd say roast her hiny.

Wasilla Alaska -- home of Sarah Palin (Or Juneau whenever she's there) Second choice: Wetaskiwin Alberta: home of the Reynolds Museum where you can see the sexiest old tractors on the Canadian Prairie.

Why Doesn't the US Respect Canada More?
the janitor replied to jbg's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Chez Helene! I'd forgotten about that show. Damn straight the Friendly Giant scares them. It's that talking rooster with the squeaky voice. It's just not normal. And I'd swear that Giraffe was on drugs. -
U.S. Presidential Elections 2008
the janitor replied to moderateamericain's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
All kidding aside, I don't think it will make a bit of difference who wins. You'll still have people starving to death in the world, wars, disasters, and world leaders doing virtual squat about it. -
No, but you're always crapping all over Canada like an insecure little kid. Maybe Americans don't spend much time thinking about Canada, but you sure as hell do. Somehow you need to justify the fact that you're not Canadian. You keep going on about how insignificant Canada is in the world scheme of things but then you're always ticked off about some aspect of it like some sort of schizophrenic. Just move here already instead of always nattering on about how screwed up you think Canada is. You'll be happier and I'm sure we can squeeze in one more somewhere...the high arctic perhaps.

Yes there are -- children. Strategic bombing in Dresden for example did nothing. Production actually increased, but there were still children killed. Besides, the allies screwed up and hit the residential areas and completely missed some of the factories. John Kenneth Galbraith discusses the Dresden bombings extensively. Soldiers lives, on the other hand, aren't worth crap in a war. Even if Japan hadn't surrendered without an invasion, better dead soldiers than dead kids. There is the possiblility many children would've died during an allied invasion of Japan, but the numbers are hypothetical since it never happened. Besides, the United States didn't have to drop the bomb on a populated area anyway, and this is where the culpability lies. If the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nothing more than a show of testosterone vis a vis the USSR, then it proves the bomb wasn't needed to win the war. Either way, it was a decision the US holds the sole responsiblility for, not the allies. The rest of the world is clear of any ethical or moral wrongdoing where the A-bomb was concerned.

Because the US is a bigger threat. Iceland or New Zealand can't do much to stop al Qaeda anyway even if they wanted to.

America can elect Krusty the Klown for President if they want. Heck, as long as Americans don't mind getting shot at or blown up, who cares. If you're always dumber after reading my posts you'd better stop reading; it's obvious you don't have much margin to spare.

Palin Derangement Syndrome
the janitor replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I agree with the passage of time, history might look more favourably on the Bush administration (especially if there is a subsequent Obama administration), BUT there is no way Truman was a better president than John F. Kennedy...No way, no how. -
Soviet Socialist States of America

Normally, I would agree. However I think the US has some pretty bed days coming... -
Bailout talks break down
the janitor replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I wouldn't say he's exactly adrift. Back in '60, Kennedy was behind Nixon 50% to 44% right up until polling day. The irony is that right now the meltdown is creating a more politically pressing issue than even the election. Americans can't get past partisanship even when their country is going down the pooper. Last night at work I was unclogging this one toilet that had a three-coiler stuck in it. Very hard not to imagine the words "America! America!" as it finally succumbed. -

Poll: World Wants Obama
the janitor replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You're the one who's making your country out to be better than anyone elses, not me. I couldn't care less what anybody else thinks about Canada. The fact is not everyone who came to America did it of their own free will. I can tell you about one person who was kicked out of Canada though... Americans love coming up here and spending thousands of dollars to shoot bears. Only problem is one yank didn't know the difference between a black bear and a Grizzly (or probably his ass from his elbow; lucky he guessed which end of the gun the bullet came out of). Got sent back south real fast after paying a hefty fine. CBSA kept his rifle for their trouble. Too bad really, he was about the only yank with us that year who was a half decent shot. He just didn't know what the hell he was shooting at. One of the guides told him to make sure it wasn't a Grizzly but the guy fired anyway. More Americans should listen to Canadians before they start shooting. Might keep themselves out of trouble. -

No no no, you have it all wrong BC04. Human rights Commissions come out with stupid statements all the time. They are just government approved stupid statements.

Wish I had that much time to spend at the range. Might head up to Alaska after this whole election thing is over. See if Sarah wants to bag a moose with me or something. -
