  1. I can appreciate what you say, but until you've experienced it........
  2. There should not be any bad stories, regardless of the out come, you should feel that our medical system did evrything possible.
  3. Ignorance is bliss. Explain the droves of Americans going south for affordable healthcare then. Ignorance is bliss explain why droves of Canadians are leaving Canada for healthcare then?
  4. Topaz all the bickering aside, you don't know how happy I am that you and your spouse were treated much better by our system then our family. I love surivour stories.
  5. Your darn right I have evidence, I have posted it all before the doctor that my mother was seeing recommended that the treatement she needed was south of the boarder, we applied to alberta health to al least have a portion of it covered, they denigned us. How many others has this happened to I don't know, but as far as I am concerned it should happen to one. If our health care was so great we would have no waiting lists, our elderly would get the hip replacements and other quality of life services that see to be deigned if you do not fit the criteria, we have buercrats decided what kind and level of service you will get, and its pathetic. Our citizens should get the best treatment everytime, not the only one the local/regional hospital provides. You show me the stat the 100% of people get the right treatment each and every time and all patients have had all avenues open to them and have not had to spend a single day on a waiting list, and I might change my mind. So far all I have seen from you is stats and reports of doctors comming and going from someone who has a vested inrest in the system.
  6. Go ahead, you have yet to have your life devesated by the level of "service" rendered by Universal health care.
  7. That exlpains it you want to protect the crap service you offer.
  8. I have actual experiences with it what you have nothing. I have gone through the pain of losing a loved one due to the inherent flaws of our medical system you? Didn't think so. You have articals that are based on nothing no real life experience, you got the words of some author who has never experienced the system failing first hand.
  9. Your artical misses the point so badly its not about the numbers of doctors leaving, its about the quality of doctors leaving. Its our best and brightest. Just a question for you werecar If Canada's healthcare system is so stellar why is it when you are searching for the best most innovative and quickest healthcare why is it you head to the United States? Why is health tourism such a big cash cow in this country, its because our one size fits all health care system meets our basic needs but is useless beyond acess to your family doctor. If this wasn't the case then insurance companies would not offer long term care insurance, critical illness insurance, and people would not be buying. It funny all you can quote is articals, you have never been affected by the current incarnation of todays health care. I wonder how you will feel about it when one of you parents or grand parents is deigned a hip replacement because they are too old, and you are forced to watch as their quality of life slips away from them, as they lose the mobility and subiquently just give up on life sit and stare out a window in an old folks home just waiting for death. Trust me it is not fun.
  10. Their is no pre existing contition at this point, that is why I was able to buy the policy. We were not able to buy able to buy the procedure and our healthcare system would not allows us to take the funds that they had allocated for my mother here and use them anywhere else where. My family was on the receiving end of getting what the government would provide, not what the best solution even the doctor that was watching my mother due said as much. A place which actually had a working treatment. Our Doctors are neither the best or the brightest just what is deemed adiquate by our government. Those that are the best simple fail to stick around, they go south where yhe pay is better and the resereach is better because it is funded by the private sector.
  11. I wasn't accusing you of being Dobbin just that the orginal comments weren't directed at you. Dobbin can hold his own, he has no need for multiple user ids. They did not realse anything about how they would spend the money together, all that was ever seen on the coalitions stimulus plan could have been written on one page of loose leaf. As for the stimlud money so far spent by the government is just over 7 billion, and since the country is now commng out of the recession at higher projected growth i hope they axe the stimulus as it is now as it was then unneeded.
  12. They were our solders they were Nato solders, as in us Nato against them taliban. The Taliban and its supporters sure new they were being invaded.
  13. Innocent playing war? in Afganistan? Do you accuse our solders of playing war? He was there aiding our enemies, there was no "play".
  14. To me I go with the side that abuses the least and to my calculation the conservatives abuse of 13% beats the liberals abuse of 87% of the funds, so the lesser of the evils is..... As for budgetary restraint the Liberals and the NDP were ready and willing to spend 30 billion with no plan right off the block, then as supporters of unions most likely sold the bank to give to the auto companies and unions. So I 'll take Harper over any of the alternatives any day. Btw i didn't know dobbin was posting under a new name.
  15. If only life were as simple and start forward as impetuous teenagers wished it to be. Are you ready to move on yet and address the merits of the argument or pout because i called your worship of a your so called "sacred cow" pathetic?
  16. And yet the liberals, NDP and Bloc cry for more!
  17. Why don't you read it again it clear states that the conservatives spent 7 billion, yet the accumulated EI suplus is suppose to be 51 billion where did that go? The answer spent by former liber governments. Do you not get that this is an unfunded liablity in general revenue?
  18. When the conservatives came to office that money was already gone. your artical says as much. Thoughnisn't funny that in all the abuse by Chretien and the liberals a charge was never levelled against them while they were in office....hmmmm
  19. does it matter? Not really, just proves you have nothing valid to say.
  20. I've made no excuses nor have I even brought Harper into the arguement are you capable of having any discoarse without bringing Harper into it? I suspect not. As for spending like drunken sailors who was it who pisses away the EI fund Liberals who wanted 30 billion spent on stimulus with no plan? And who was it that was willing form a coalition with the dippers right after an election before parliment even had to sit? Who has got nothing on this issue and a leader who doesn't even really want to be Canadan. I think I and most Canadians know the asnwer to this. I'll save you your response but harper........but harper........but harper......simulate..... but Harper snore!
  21. No we all know you are an impetuous 12 year old who understands nothing but the propaganda pumped into them by their social teacher. Obviously you don't seem understand to healthcare and the human aspect in it you are more interested in your ideology of socialism rather then actually helping people. BTW I would report you for your response, but you just made my arguement so I will over look it. My mis-guided friend.
  22. And yet the so called experts have been wrong time and time again. Just like your predictions. The liberals seem intent on flogging this dead horse, face it you missed your chance, if you leader had any brass he would have went over this last december or even in june, but well all typical liberal all bluster, no action.
  23. Insurance is a heavily regulated industry, simply when it comes to rate inceases they need to be approved by the government. Two its about disrabution of risk when times are good the money earned of stock investments subisdizes the premiums you pay, typically the price goes up after a stock market crash and a large disaster which makes the companies deficient on liquid assests to pay claims. This happened just after the Kelowna forest fires, and losses from the 2001-2002 stock market dip. This time its not a natural disaster it is the supreme court finding against the soft tissue injury cap in Alberta, which could mean that all capped claims since 2005 would have to be re-opened, and re-settled at much higher pay outs. Now lrts go back to the regualtion, it is regulated in each province what income ratio a company must have to contiune to operate and offer policies to new customers, which means at times a rise in premiums. As for those of you who think that public insurance is the way to go, I will have you know for claim payout and price public insurance is rated the worst in canada.
  24. to you it may be a sacred cow but you have not been on the receiving end of the health rationing. You look a ding person in the eyes and tell them that the medical procedure offered is adequate, but you know its not the best and likely will not do anything, yet unapproved treatment and unlikely to be approved because of cost (that is working across the boarder) is unatainable. Now that you have explained ot the mother that she will die despite the treatment, because it really isn't the right one explain that again to her son. Our health care system is a sham and a crock I have experienced it first hand, I have now bought the proper insurance (critical illness) so if I need it I can travel across the boarder to get the treatment I will require. If I had choice here in Canada, I would not need to buy excess insurance to get proper treatment. For those of you who think our healthcare system is a sacred cow are pathetic.
