  1. History proves that true conservatives in government in this province run it very well, and we do very well under them, when we stray from that path, we see the problems like the ones we have now. To deny this fact is to deny the history of politics in Alberta.
  2. cut down the size of government it has balloon more then 40% over the last few years. Cut the Carbon capture and storage until we can afford to pay for it, roll back the royalties to what they were before the Stelmach government. Cut government spending role back the MLA wage increase. Much pork can be cut out of the provincial budget. Liberals don't say stupid things?
  3. A centre right party gaining ground, and progressives fear of losing to a centre right party. Most progressive MLA's know that their competition will come from a principled main stream centre right party not the liberals or NDP they are dead in this province the progressives have become lazy and too liberal for the province, stelmacks approval ratings are abysmal. There is a political void in this province just itching to be filled.
  4. It is a symptom of losing our conservatives and having only progessives in government, but don't worry change is comming, we will go back to a small c government and lose these progressives.
  5. At least the fellow mentions above will leave his home to protest shows charcter, shows he cares. Those who don't want to leave their homes are just lazy, and don't want to be inconvienced to exercise their rights. With internet voting you have no way to verify the results or the methode, just some techies word on it. No thanks, I would rather drive the ten miles I have to drive to exercise my right. For those who don't think its worth thier time, or feel that they want to be inconvienced by voting then they don't really value thier rights, get what they deserve no voice in the process. I would commend the fellow you mention above who protests at the polling station, I bet he values his right. I doubt the countries you are talking about really could care less about the how we promote the spread of democracy. In the grand scheme 300 mil per vote is worth every penny, and those you speak of setting a better example for, our tanks and weapons speak more to them then the means by which we vote.
  6. Nothing is impossible (hackers hacking)raw electronic data can be tampered with, having to leave you home to vote shows that you care about voting. There is no better system then the polling booth.
  7. its pretty easy to blame the liberals when its been thier policies over the last 40 yras that have done damage to our country. You even have a party that wants to reverse its own Ei remforms from 96. As for the election, the tory base wouldn't care who called the election as the core base will never vote liberal or NDP any way, as the reform proved they will move but only to another centre right party.
  8. he wouldn't get away with it twice, and I'm sure he knows it.
  9. Doubt it, I would think the tories would want to go down on a confidence vote this, then they can say its all the liberals fault we are have our fourth election in 5 years. The first opposition day is the late part in September and Ignatieff will be itching to go before the jobless numbers improve. (Jobless numbers are the very last to drop going into a recession and the very last thing to improve when coming out of a recession).
  10. I'd like to see the peice of research material that would show the 2% drop in the GST would have paid the 30 billion of stimulus the liberals were proposing in nov.
  11. What i am saying is, both cities have recived a equitable share of reward from the provincial government. IF what either of them is getting is not ennough to bad.
  12. Your uncle is telling youu this? who is your uncle, this this a real person? which board do they sit on, and why would you be speaking for your uncle?
  13. Do you have proof this would bump you on the list or is that what the toaster is telling you.
  14. Who said I was blaming parties, I was blaming your mayor and council your elected city officials, the same officials you elected.
  15. hopefully it is a long time before he sees the government side of the commons.
  16. Considering all the money the provincial government has spent building up its infrastucture in edmonton the government employment in that city, no. ( As a side note I grew up around edmonton).
  17. There was nothing in the artical that said the party would do anything of the sort.
  18. Calgary is treated no better, infact, Calgary has always had disputes with the provincial governmetn over funding since the Klien days.
  19. really you think so I would image that type of club would be full of socialists too, as all historical facists came from socialist clubs.? How do suppose edmonton solve edmonton's problems. Should we all have to pony up because mandell doesn't know how to run a city?
  20. Maybe you should elect something other then the NDP mayor you have. Edmontons problems are because of your mayor and councillors. If Edmonton had managed its resouces properly it would beable to fund the co-pay requirements on the stimulus money. You have elected socialists into your city government and are reaping those rewards. Suck it up and deal with it.
  21. I question anyone who would willingly work for the CBC.
  22. What did you not understand abut shovel ready projects? Also money was set aside or rec centres, so as long as they fit the paperwork requirement, they get the funding, much like many of the rec centres in my riding that have received funding. Nothing was staed about use being public or private. As for Ms. Blade, unless you can prove something I suggest you stop slandering her name.
  23. Good Bye to another CBC hack.
  24. Is the employment of the construction crew not "simulus"?
