Is Canada's Science Minister a creationalist?
Alta4ever replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
NO its not because they have a professional job to do. Really the defense ministers job is not to decide whether or not to fight a war or how prosecute the war, it is the defense ministery that equips the military and makes sure that is ready to fight the engagements that the government has put it into. You people are just religious bigots grasping at straws. -
Is Canada's Science Minister a creationalist?
Alta4ever replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You are all discriminating against him based on his religious beliefs, that makes you bigots. He may very capable of doing the job as he is not the one who is creating theories. That is the scientists jobs, now if one of you can find some quote were he has stated that he doesn't beleive in science or research I may with draw my bigot comment but until you do it stands you are bigots and with the response to calling you people what you are I seem to have hit a nerve. Until you find something that is actually fact based and not religion based for him to be disqualified for this job you are all a bunch of bigots. Since when does the Ministry of Science deal exclusively with how humans came about, creationism, intellegent design or the big bang. In fact i doubt their is very little in this position about that has anything to with this arguement. -

You are the one who doubts his ablity to do his job, based on no facts you are just disriminating against him and his religion. You are a bigot. -
Unless you end up with a Stelmach or Dion.

Here is the difference between the liberal process and the conservative one, the liberals talk about and change policy handed down from the party elite, the conservatives talk vote in or out policy put forward by the grassroots, and then the grassroots decides which to add or change by vote. Liberls=top down Conservatives= bottom up.
-
If you read parties constitution (liberals have always had problems following rules) The party must have a policy convention every two years for the grassroots to decide what to add and remove for the parties policy declaration, as well as make changes to the constitution of the party. It was held so the grassroots would steer the party. As for Ryan Sparrow he is a hack, and knows nothing he and his boss can be removed by the grassroots of the party if it is desired.

Ignatieff's Liberals close gap on Conservatives
Alta4ever replied to Progressive Tory's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
who's frustrated we are hearing about how bad the economy is on every channel all the time this always drops the governing parties numbers what is astounding is that for how great Ignateiff is he Can't even bring the polls higher the CPC. He is in his honey moon period and can't jump ahead with the problems that have always seen a governing party drop in the numbers. After Dion became liberal leader the Liberals actually polled higher then the conservatives during his honey moon period. I understand very well what happens in these events and what is happy now is actually breaking that historical precident. With the economy and the current political situation the liberals should have buried the CPC. Harper is still both beating all the other party leaders in leadership polls and who would best manage the economy during this time of instablity. Sorry but I do see this for what it is, and that fact that liberals can't poll higher then the conservatives right now is pathetic. -

Sorry you link goes no where. The Demarais have been long time liberal supporters, along witha great number of the other wealth families, like the Irvings. but you don't like anything that contractidicts your love of image you have created in your head about what the liberal party is and who they support. -
Ignatieff's Liberals close gap on Conservatives
Alta4ever replied to Progressive Tory's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Do waste your breath Progressive liberal up there doesn't seem to understand Canadian Politics she is very happy to be ignorant of the polling reality. Under these Cirumstances with the economy Harpers support should be taking a beating. The liberals polling numbers should have changed almost over night, Ignatieff has really done noting but restore the liberal core vote, and it may just be that a few are returning because it isn't Dion in charge. She doesn't seem to gt that Liberal is more about brand than leader or substance. after all they are nothing a but a prinicple less populist party. -
What is the point of reprinting the new policy booklet with the changes in it?
-
I laugh at you FPTP will doom this country to minority after minority and give a soap box to the most extreme elements in scoiety. It is a big mistake to go that route. Band the Ind together and together you wil stand for everthing and nothing. You won't gt one member elected.
-
The share holders will dump the CEo's, obama doesn't need to do anything, the market will take care of it.
-
the CPC does it as well. 99% of what was at the Winnipeg convention was submitted by grassrots commiteeies from the riding assocaitions.
-
If we end tax subs and 1.95 per vote to the parties 2 of the parties would disapear tomorrow. The fringe element would disapear and we wouldn't have to listen to the bloc or the screeching coming from that horrible elizabeth may.

So you ignor the ones in the Liberal party as well, its part of politics all parties have these fundraising dinners what do you not understand about that, another poster even posted some liberal examples of it , but for you ignorance is bliss right? Just keep worshiping at the feet of Ignatieff, you seem to be pretty good at licking his boots. -

It was about how money was spent on regional advertising and local advertising during an election that makes it and election spending issue. But why let the facts get in your way. -

That is something that is unresolved about the election spending it wasn't about fundraising.
