  1. In their case, the proper passport IS the Haudenosaunee one. As I said Britain recognized it and would have this time if some yahoo in the US didn't try to exercise his ego. But all and all the "secure" Haudenosaunee passport will meet Great Britain's requirements, as well as the US. So perhaps it is Canada that is out of sync with the rest of the world.....
  2. I have been to the ER of a couple of major hospitals and had to wait very little. Of course I wasn't in there for a hang-nail, and if I was it is likely they would make me wait 8 hours or more..... But for serious ailments I was through triage within about 10 minutes in a bed by 20 minutes, and saw the doctor within 30 minutes. I believe that is pretty normal for people who go in for serious issues.
  3. Bill...ffs.... Your personal experience is not the experience of others collectively. And while you might have had one or two bad experiences it may likely be influenced by your apparent poor attitude towards the medical profession. In terms of deciding if there has been sufficient improvement in the emergency department government will look at your experience (if you are polled) and weigh it out against tens of thousands more to see if all results are the same. Obviously your experience is not the general trend, and therefore in isolation it has no relevance to this subject matter. If you don't get that, then you might want to go to a hospital and check in....
  4. The were refused by Britain once but were let in under the Haudenosaunee passport many times before.
  5. The slippery slope: If we believe we have the right to criticize other nations for poor human rights records, what about the criticisms of Canada for its poor human rights issues? Native people are marginalized, and must fight against institutional racism, and our treatment does not conform with the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, let alone our own Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We still have the residential school legacy where more than 50% of the children stolen away from their mothers' arms at gunpoint were alleged to have been murdered. Then we have 1 in 3 of the survivors being subjected to physical, mental and sexual abuses to which the offenders have not bee prosecuted. And even today we have more children in foster care, removed for reasons the United Nations defines as genocide (poverty) than all that ever went through foster care. We have a long way to go in their moccasins before we can criticize anyone else.
  6. Nope. See you are making things up again. Recognizing the flaws in thinking is not the same thing as believing in the mystical. I have never said that logic wasn't useful in some sort of way, but have maintained that it is entirely mind-orientated and therefore delusional.
  7. There is no such thing as "just a little bit Conservative."
  8. People ARE being hired on qualification. But all things being equal, being in a targeted group tips the scale in favour of the aboriginal or visible minority. That is the whole point.
  9. Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill. You make my case that logic is a delusion. Here you say: "However, it did say that only non-white categories will be accepted!" There is you make-believe - your delusional creations - your fanstasy! It said nothing of the sort. In fact if you can find a copy of the job posting maybe we can all look at together and see what is says EXACTLY, and not some made in your mind "logic". But then if logic did play a role int you turn logic into some delusional nightmare. If we "speculate" the it is highly likely ( and I draw from my experience of seeing these types of applications" it will say something like: "This is a position targeted for aboriginal and visible minorities" Your delusions are just plain stupid.
  10. That's good. And then you should know that Stephen Harper and his Reformers are bent on wiping out any trace of that heritage. If you are truly a Conservative, then why would you accept that....?
  11. And that is because Mr. Falange is still editing it....
  12. Bill Bill Bill Bill...... Not only did the Ipperwash find that the protesters including Dudley George were unarmed but it became a statement of fact at the trial of OPP Constable Ken Deane and a number of eye witnesses testified to it. What you said has no relevance to the facts of the case. But even if it did, the OPP intelligence unit had confirmed that there were no weapons in the park. They did confirm that one or two of the protesters had rifles at the barracks on the army base, but there were no weapons anywhere in the park, at any time. That too is a conclusion made by the Ipperwash Inquiry. And one last fact (lest your head spins right off its neck). The calamity of events occured because of the mis-communication within the OPP, the outside pressure placed on the OPP to enforce an injunction (when the enforcement of any injunction is within the polices discretionary authority), the rampant racism within the OPP and many other factors, not blamed on Dudley George or the protesters. That too is a finding of fact of Justice Linden at the Inquiry. You may want you hold your hands over your ears and sing la la la la I can't hear you, but the facts are what happened with a 99.9% accuracy.
  13. Better to rephrase it this way: "Conservatives don't like interference in their manipulation of government" I think it has a better ring to it, don't you?
  14. Nope it is an opinion on an opinion piece. It is true because it was in the findings of the Ipperwash report - the inquiry he tried for years to ignore and in the end was found culpable in the events leading up to Dudley Georges death. My bet is that you extrapolated that tidbit from some mystery novel you are reading. And you call me up for offering an opinion. Your opinion doesn't even meet the perquisites for reality, let alone por fiction. "I want the fucking Indians out of the park!" Quote from Mike Harris as witnessed by Attorney General Mark Harnick, and affirmed as fact by the Ipperwash inquiry. Harris was found to have participated and been the impetus of the chain of events that led up to the killing of Dudley George. I didn't say he pulled the trigger but that he was partly responsible and that is consistent with the findings of Ipperwash inquiry. The findings of the Ipperwash inquiry were that the protesters were not armed in the park and that Dudley George was unarmed when he was shot. Quit making things up. You look like a fool.
  15. Nope. She was discriminated against because she did not fit the target group. A redhead cannot demand a job at a blond convention. There is no racial group called "white". So she must belong to some other group that is not aboriginal or visible minority.
  16. Nope that will not have any effect. Because Duncan isn't imposing wage freezes. He is asking for them and so far he has the tentative agreement of OPSEU. That will give McGuinty a free ride with public service unions because he asked first and they will likely end up at some mutually palatable compromise. The optics are excellent!
  17. Nope. Because this kind of discrimination is permitted and protected under the Charter, in order to balance the workplace equitably. However, the idea that a "white" female is being rejected is nothing more than a media sensation because there is no such thing as a "white" race. If she was rejected because she is an uni-lingual English-speaking Caucasian female then perhaps that is identifiable as an excluded group. However, you have lost focus on the story since she was not rejected because she was "white" or English only. She was prohibited from applying for this particular job because she was not aboriginal or a visible minority, which means the position must have required some "need" for minority representation. Which would mean that the workplace was over-represented by English or French speaking Caucasians already. Under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the amelioration of this inequity allows the government to excluded certain groups in order to better represent the population fabric in the public service.
  18. You can't talk about me because your being wholly insane, you wouldn't recognize reality and sanity if you tripped over it. The best you can do is draw reference from your own myths and delusions. Most people here I suspect, get your detachment from reality and like a nearly dead mouse are just giving you a flip or two...
  19. I get all that. McGuinty doesn't fool ME. But he will fool a whole lot of people who will give him another majority government. And all that is bad with the internal issues, corruption and spies will be blamed on Harris...well.... because Harris is still very much hated by many voters. They remember.
  20. Calling yourself metis is not the same thing as being Metis. The latter requires that you hold status in a Metis organization, that you can trace your family back to one of the few Metis settlement areas and that you are active in the culture. You do all those things? Or are you trying to hide behind a virtual sash and fiddle as a point of trying to create a false shaman persona?
  21. As I understand it people are hired according to a blind scoring method. Qualifications score high, but all things being equal ethnicity tips the scale. Of course merit does not equate to being a kiss-ass or a misogynistic member of the old boy's club....
  22. Yup I worked for the federal government to, was evaluated on merit and my ethnicity tipped the scales to get me the job. And that was 30 years ago.
  23. Nope. He is actually elevating his status here. It is YOU that is losing ground towards oblivion.
  24. You should know that native culture is like the Borg. Resistance is futile and you too will eventually be assimilated into the collective.
  25. Of course trying to be stupid is your strong suit. Well done! If you look at some of the legacies in our society you will find a mixture of aboriginal and settler customs at its core. And that is where we still lie. Have another drink. You might be able to delay this hangover until Wednesday or Thursday of next week if you keep yourself as pickled as you are right now.
