Liberal Party= Criminal Enterprise
I miss Reagan replied to BQSupporter's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Except for the fact that the Pope's funeral is also the lead story on ctv.ca, canada.com and the globeandmail.com. Boo yah. That wasnt' the point. The point was that Kyoto, and sunny weather in Saskatchewan were top stories ahead of the biggest corruption scandal in Canadian History. -

What about it? It is just one more of a litany of examples of how the CBC is devoid of any journalist ethics. -

Nice logic Eureka. Everyone does it so it's ok. Who gives a sh*t what Mulroney did 20 years ago. He's gone. We're talking about millions our CURRENT government stole. -

Ridiculous. Duplessis. Explain Sweal. Tell me about a more corrupt government in Canada. -

The details of this whole Liberal operation remind me of how my Russian friend describes how the Communist party operated. What is frightening to me is Canadian apathy. Can you imagine if something like this happened in the US or someplace else. There would be mass demonstrations and incredible public outrage. It'd be nice if we could lock up Chretien. -
What say we ask Greg to change Cagerattler's name to 'Strawman'.

Are you kidding. I am dead center. We're all centerists, that's why we're on here to post our balanced opinions. -

Oh ya I forgot, you are balanced, right in the center -
Careful, the moderators are very defensive about calling Chretien names. Feel free to go at the CON servatives unfettered though.

Hyperbole. Now you're just looking for a fight. No. I'm more like the Quebeckers who vote for the alternative, (AA in our case) to send the corrupt ruling party a message. Bringing us back to the topic, the Quebeckers at least have guts. Besides, Gilles Duceppe is a far better leader than Layton or Martin could ever be, even if he is a communist. -

Good point but I wouldn't say identical. I believe the ardent Liberal supporters are ignorant and suckers to the scare tactics of the Canadian media. Me, I voted AA. But I prefer the tough talk of Klein to the ass kissing we'd likely see from the other parties. I also prefer Klein's keeping within the budget that we wouldn't see with the other parties. Of course I disagree philosophically with most of the libs and ndps policies. I just disagree with Klein to a lesser degree. So really I'm nothing like the ardent Liberal supporter. -

Power I suppose. Klein was good for a couple terms. We needed some tough love cleaning out. But as time goes on he starts getting lazy and drunk on the power. He starts spending more to maintain the power, he starts rewarding his pals. He does what ever the hell he wants. I'd take him over the libs or the NDP's any day though. What are you getting at BD? -

Please elaborate on the Albertan comment. And good to Quebec, glad to see the youth taking interest in politics. Alberta does a lousy job of standing up to Ottawa. All our government does is talk tough. Even Newfoundland put up a fight when wronged by PM by taking down the flag. Albertans continue to vote in a big spending PC government which continues the same kind of democratic deficit that we have federally. But they sure do like to lecture Ottawa. Klein refuses to implement the Alberta Agenda AKA the Firewall, which would give us more leverage against the Feds. Albertans bend over and take Kyoto, Gun Registry, etc. etc. -
Liberals Scrambling-Gomery Leaks

May I remind you this same sentiment was expressed last election and nothing came of it. If conservatives continue to hold that opinion they will get no where, something more needs to be done than relying on the liberals to defeat themselves. We deserve no less. I'm afraid Slavik might be right. There isn't much the liberals could do to not get elected. I have little faith in Ontarians. Weak people. -

Good article. At least Quebeckers stand for something. They don't bend over and take it like the rest of Canadians (including Albertans). Actually especially Albertans. I think Quebec could be a viable independent country. -
But she wasn't there at all according to the doctors. The lights were on but nobody was home, I thought. The autopsy will hopefully end the debate. I understand what Ceasar is saying, if Michael was compassionate he would have given up custody of her and let her family pay the bills and take care of her.

I thought she was brain dead and couldn't suffer?
-
It's not obvious at all. Whereabouts has there been hatred directed at Christians here? Come on, you know that his theme on this thread is the same as the others with his "culture of life" jabs. He started right off by saying:
-
Black Dog, We all know how much you hate religion, especially Evangelicals. It is obvious that, for you, this issue has nothing to do with the life of this woman but is just an excuse to spew your hatred towards Christians and the right. If you opened your eyes, and your mind, you would notice that this issue doesn't divide down religious/ non-religious or liberal/ conservative lines. According to a poll quoted on O'Reilly 60% of Evangelicals support the removal of the feeding tube. And while rightists like Kimmy and myself support the removal of the tube leftists like Caesar oppose it.
-
Thanks, this is pretty interesting stuff. But does she feel pain? is she suffering? If she isn't there at all anymore there isn't any point in keeping her alive. But by the same reasoning there is no reason for her husband to insist that she die, because she isn't suffering.
-
This is why I agree with the decision to remove the feeding tube. Ultimately, in the eyes of the law, the spouse is the authority on the wishes of the patient and I think in most cases this is how it should be. Although Kimmy has provided some good insight in to her condition, questions still remain for me. If she is indeed a vegitable why are her eyes open and why does she appear to react to people. And if she is in a vegitative state she is not suffering so why pull the tube?
-
LOL. Really? kinda like calling someone a "Fu*king hypocrite" or accusing the President of master minding 9-11 or accusing him of rigging voting machines, being clinically insane etc. etc. etc. Are those the kind of charges that could land someone in trouble?
-
Here's your definition of Scumbag:A person regarded as despicable. That's fitting for a leader who stole millions from his country. Unfortunately I couldn't find one for "fu*king hypocrite". We all understand the meaning of the classless insult though. I suppose we should call Chretien a "fu*king hypocrite" as well since he did things like promise to eliminate the GST... then didn't. That seems more "fu*king hypocritical" than anything Bush has done. So would the Bush bros. be wrong in intervening in a case where a family wanted to remove the feeding tube from a quadriplegic like Christopher Reeve or someone like Stephen Hawking?

All we are saaaaying is give peace a chance All we are.... BUSH LIED KIDS DIED! Altogether now... -
I think this whole thing has been blown up by the media. I think pulling the tube was probably the right decision. However, Black Dog lashing out at Bush, as usual, and the usual suspects gleefully jumping up and down in agreement it getting really annoying. I would like to ask the moderators how calling Bush a "Fu*king hypocrite" differs from calling Chretien "da little scumbag from Shawinigan". Another question I have with respect to Terri is if she is indeed brain dead then she would not have the capacity to suffer and feel pain. Why not allow her to live to be safe? Additionally why does her husband decide to pull the plug 15 years later? Why not shortly after the heart attack?
