  1. The last I looked no dealers were giving out drugs in child proof containers now were they? The parents who are pot smokers and hard drug users are not family concious people for the most part, and they are only trying to hide something where it is easily accesible but not easily found, when hiding their drugs. So yes they definitely is way more chance af a child getting into and ingesting them. Only an adelled mind would not see this. I do not have to lie we have all read and heard of this. The only wrongful shooting I can remember when raiding a drug house was the shooting of an unarmed man walking towards the officers screaming and holding a Rastafrican object that officers mistook for a gun. He lived and died 3 years later due to complication of that shooting. That is it for the Ottawa area. There have been others where wrong houses were entered in Canada but not where people were shot. Back in my day in the under world yes police would raid and sometimes they would shoot, but mostly because we shot first. I have had the back car windows blown out with ashotgun blast, but never was I caught and in all the times I was ever shot at I was armed and yes in the mind set of those days would have shot at them. But that was way back then, and yes I have seen all that, lived it and got through it without ever getting caught. But I also know that world well and believe me when I say it is as dirty and violent as any, and drugs have made it so no one can ever trust anyone else who is doing drugs. To the point that it is better to kill those with habits and are caught, then to trust them not to talk. That is just the way it has evolved and the way that you say you think should be legal. You really need to go away and do some thinking before you spout off. Some one may start to think you are dealing coke at that strip club of yours
  2. Real issues? The people are not evn trying to make the federal government responsible for the Haris years, which by the needed to be done at that time, and yes we now have better times for that. Real people know that when the budgets get tight they want to see, the un-necessary spending on things to be eliminated. That is what they do when there more month then money left. The harris years took the same attitude to the government, that real people had to take with their own family budget. And yes I think that the voters will rememner that, but I do not think they will be mad at those times. Instead they will remember a government that did use the same common sense to budgeting, as the real working people had to use in their everyday budgets. Of course most people do not want an election. Who would when things seem to be so good. If the opposition defeats the government on the throne speech or at any other time, they had better make sure the issue is one that the voters just can not stomach. As for backfiring on Harper goes, he has played this so well, that the people are going to see him as being a very astute politician. Not scarey scarey. Face it Harper let the opposition yap their demands to the public and now he will make them all back down because he is the leader in this and it is showing quite well, that the others are all just limpwristed wimps, who do not know when and where to keep their mouths shut. This was a great play by Harper. I am enjoying it immensely. Even though his party is in a minority position, he has shown leadership and goal oriented policies that his team will get past, even though the opposition does not want to get this done. He is showing how to make a minority government work for the people and give them the things they want. Maybe not as fast as they like but he is doing all he said in the last election and will continue to do so, unless the opposition feels they have to bring him down. Harper know that any election will only give his government more seats. Maybe even a majority of seats. If anyone can not see this as genius, then you are not looking very hard, or you are blinded by your own willful and spiteful ambitions. This is politics being played at its best, and if the opposition feels corralled and played for fools, well they should.
  3. First off pot is not victimless. Everyone who smokes pot and gets caught are become victims because they broke the law. Stupid pot smokers just can not see this though. The people killed in the pot gro-ops by rival pot growers are victims of a crime caused directly with the growing of pot. Children have gotten into parents weed and other drugs and have ODed, directly because their parents had an illegal drug in their house. That child is a victim. The three guys north of Cornwal Ont shot each other over a disagreement about shares of a geo-op. Again directly releated to the growing of pot. Two men on trial for murder of a dealer who sold pot and could not pay for the fronted pot. One dead and two more guilty of murder, directly related to the selling and using of pot. I could go on and on. But you as speaking out the wrong end when you say pot is a victimless crime. But as usual you and yours just will not comprehend any of this, probably due to addelled brains from smoking pot. So yes you are another victim of smoking pot. So is Shavluk who thinks he is some kind of green party dream member. He is just another victim of pot and many other hard drugs. He is so adelled that he really thinks he will get people to vote for him, which just shows he is delusional. Another victim as far as I am concerned. If this was not so funny, I might even take exception to it.
  4. Well as for it needing to be said in a throne speech,I really wish that all the opposition parties would grow up and admit they are the ones who will be able to say what happenes after 2009, if they leave this government stand that long. Having an election this fall and with the only possible winner in all of it being the CPC, how can they excuse this foolishness about saying words on a subject that the CPC could not do without others to support them. Palin bad taste, but persoally I never thought liberals had any good taste to begin with.
  5. I laugh at this quite a bit. Why is it so important to have Harper say he will withdraw by such a date. Harper has a minority government and he has said that it will be the will of parliament that says when and where the mission goes. It is nothing more then whining by Dion and the rest to even think that this shoudl be an issue and the voters, will see it as just being stupid. The extention of the mission can only be done with an act of parliament, right? So when that time comes they can vote to end it and withdraw, it is solved real easy and there is no need to panic now or even for the next year or so. Why are they making it an issue, when it really is not?
  6. Well genius, how many times have we heard about a child getting into Mom and dad stache? How many toddlers have ODed because they ingested Dad's hard drugs? You sure do not know victimless crime now do you. By the way you do not have the right to do what you want in your own home, and you never did have that right, and will never have that right. The laws of the land cover your home, your office and anywhere else in the country. If you do prostitution from your own home, you are charged with keeping a common bawdy house. No real victim there either. Face it, what these people want is to be above the law. Sweet and simple, they figure the laws do not apply to them. The prisons are full of these same type who have taken that same attitude to the next level. Once again I say anyone who openly smokes pot in public should be caught and charged, because he is stupid the endth degree. I speed all the time on hiways, and I know that if I go 120 KPH I will not be caught by if I go 125KPH I will be fined for that, and not just the speed over 120, but the whole amount over the posted 100KPH.. The same goes for this. Smoke your pot away from all others and never in public, and chances are you will not be caught. But if you are a criminal with an active history of crime and convictions, then even having it in your home, is a big risk now isn't it. I said before that out my way we have many busted each year for growing pot. We all know the planes and helicopters that fly over all the area are using spectrometers to fine outdoor grown pot and Infrared detecors to fine indoor grow ops. As I said people are arrested every year for this, and most have repeated records on this so they go away for 4-7 year stints and then are back. They loose their farms and homes and all they possessed, and yes they start again, mostly doing the same thing expecting a different result. The last attempt to change the laws on pot never came about and it still has the same law as it always was, but these geniuses think that times have changed, and so they become more and more public in their use, and then cry when caught. Get over it and grow up. The law is the law and if you are going to break it, at least do some thinking about how to do that without being dumb. By the way, it is those who do not understand this that cry the loudest and point all the fingers at others.
  7. It would only be reasonable to think that if a party supports the throne speech they for the most part agree with most of those issues. Now I do not think everything would be a confidence motion, and neither would Harper. I would even go as far as saying that he would expect some changes to take place and fluffying and puffing here and there, but the general concepts should be followed, or yes when he sees that he is not getting co-operation in good faith, then call an election. Too many around here keep trying to take everything word for word, and make political hay from it. The voters are much more reasonable in their views in this and I would say that it is just another slow news day, for this to be made into a story. We can all expect there to be many goodies given in the throne speech and yes there will also be a party line of what it wants to accomplish. If the opposition is not willing to work within those confinments, then they should vote down the speech and have an election. But if they find a point or two in that speech that they want to argue, but want to also work with the rest then they should vote in favour of the speech and then argue the points later when they come up. If the present government finds that later the parties are not working with anything and just tring to be obstructive, then they will call an election. Each side has to be careful on which issues they would disolve Parliament on, as the voters will exact a heavy price on certain issues. Harper is right in his view that support of a throne speech should also show that the parties support the agenda for the most part. He is wrong that every issue is a confidence vote, but he being the ruling party can make that so if he wants to. That is his choice to do or not to do. The opposition parties all have to be careful not to vote against issues that voters want to have, such as tax cuts and social spending and the list can go on and on. They too can push the government into calling an election simply by not working with the government and making it necessary for an elction to be called, so certain thinsg can then be resolved. I am kind of glad that the provincal election in Ont looks like the voters are siding Liberal. This in the past means that Federally they will move CPC. But that is not written in stone, it is just that has been the method that has been played out for all of recent memory. Harper is not seen as a scarey guy with scarey ideas, and that pig won't fly this time around. Most voters will see him middle to the right in his views, where Dion and the Liberal will be seen as too far left of center, to be given the levers of government.
  8. First off you said a guy got caught for smoking a joint outside a bar. Another pot head genius I guess. Of course he got caught the idiot should be be caught and charged with being too dumb to breath. Also you think that people should be allowed to do anything they want in their own homes as stated earlier. Well I think child molesting is probably done in their own homes, and incest. shoudl that also be allowed? Should you be allowed to due drugs like speed i n your own home? Where children amy easily get it and OD? You whole out look on this does not conform to what society will tolerate, and no your extreme views will never become law, not even in part. You hurt your whole cause because you take extreme positions. As I said earlier, this is in draft mode with the Harper government, and yes If the voters could take a reasonable approach to this like a one time, no criminal record and small fine approach, and get the masses agreeing to this, then and only then could we probably be able to things changed. Hell the Rantings of Shavlik, Tbud and Coot, plus many others will only do harm to what should be a responsible approach to this problem. Pot will never be totally leagl in Canada, because the vast majority of voters will not allow that happen. We might at best see it moved to the food and drug summary conviction, like speed was in the late 1960's, but even that would be a long road, and would have to be done in small steps over time. Speed will never again to back to that list. Hell I could make a whole wack of cash if they ever legalized drugs, but I am not so addelled that I would even think that it will happen in my life time. People here are getting caught up in the postings of many new comers here that, have rally disrupted the normal flow of responsible debate, with really outlandish ideas. While it is hard not to answer these positions, it really is not that surprising. The smart users of pot, are not that worried about getting caught, because they use it responsibly and do not try to make issues of it to draw attention to their misddeds. The ones screaming from the roof tops, are not very wise and judging from their rehtoric they have isses with being caught, because they are dumb enough to light up in public and probably right next to law enforcement. The one is supposed to be an owner of a strip club, and it should come as no surprise that most of these type of businesses rely on the addiction (usually Cocaine or Heroine ) to keep the flow of women willing to work there. That is just a fact, and no you will not find it in stats canada, but anyone who has ever been on the other side of the law will know this. For me I do not allow people in my home to smoke pot there, but if they want to take it outdoors that is okay, but they must keep all their stash on themselves. I have 20 acres so we are no where near any pubblic eyes. I will not alow any hard drugs in my home period, because due to my past and the fact that when I went back to college to become a biochemical engineer, I have been watched by law enforement very closely, so anyone bringing hard drugs to my home, will not be there once I find out, period. I have lost many an old friend over this thing, but it is better losing them then having to do worse after an arrest. I have taken my stance, and that is after having been involved, and knowing what it is all about. I stand by my beliefs. I also gave up drinking many years ago, because right after college, I stayed sober during many lparties and watched as people made total assholes of themselves and talked and said thing that could have easily cost them their lives or the lives of other friends. I have no problem with people drinking in my home and I keep a well stocked bar, even though I may only once ot twice a year half a couple drinks here and there. My neices and nephews all drink and they know that if I see them drunk I will not allow them to get behind the wheel, and they do not even try to give me a hard time about this. My adoptive children came from alcohol abusive back grounds, but by my raising them they all seem to be resonsible social drinkers. So, yes I walk the same as I talk. Drug use in canda is by and large a big problem. It is not one that will be fixed even in a generation. But I see hope with the younger generation now, that is more leary of those who want to deal them drugs. I live in a rural community outside of Ottawa, and I had a neighbour kid who has had many problems, ask me for help because a local pot dealer was after him for money because of the pot he sold him and he did not know what to do, and his single mom could not help. I did help him out, if he told me exactly who this dealer was and made me a promise he would not ever seek another source and I would see that his present source would never sell to him again. I also made him promise that he would get a summer job with a welder friend of mine and when done school seek an apprenticeship. Well that dealer never agin sold anything to him and he was actually pretty much taken out of the area as his own sources were not happy with him. Yes I paid off my heighbours drug debts, alos letting him know that if there was ever a second time, he would never be found in our area again. Seems to have worked. The kid now has his welders and gas fitters license and is working out west, making good money. But for a wile it could have gone in a bad way for this kid. That is why even soft drugs cause problems. Also why it will never be legal to the public at large. As for the dealer, yes he is living and is in and out of jail on a regular basis, but he now stays mostly on the reservation in Cornwall Island.
  9. Yes the polls have them both close, but if I was harper i would be doing everything I could to have the polls look equal. Does anyone seriously think that Dion in an election campaign would grow his support or would he likely lose support like a rock does depth when dropped in the lake. Does the NDP have anything to offer the voters that would change their minds in any of this. The Bloc has no where to go but down and they can not count on their PQ brothers to help them out. Duceppe is retiring after this election and the party really does not have an obvious leadership choice in sight that would come close to Duceppes popularity. The greens well they are green. People should by now have seen that Harper has engineered all of this and yes there will be more candy and tidbits to be anounced before the election call. I said many time large tax cuts will be in there, and money for cities and infastructure repairs etc. Mass transit and Hybrid auto rebates on taxes and many more. When Harper is thru, anyone forcing an election will be making Harper very happy. The face of Quebec will change big time and it will only favour the CPC. Since it is pretty obvious that the only gains will be made by the CPC, and most people have said this, then the only one who should be happy with an election call will be Harper. I think the voters would gladly want to see this same minority government keep going, but they will give Harper his majority before they would give any other party a minority. But hell only 9 more days till we can see just what is in that throne speech. So then we can all be better informed at where things will turn.
  10. Harper has most likely smoked pot at some time in his youth and I am almost sure his biker loving wife has taken a toke or two in her day as well. But what does that really have to do with this. I said I thought there should be a one time non-criminal event. After that the whole shebang should kick in. There are reasons for medicinal use, but that is not really the point now is it. The vast amjority of people who smoke pot do not have medical reasons to do so, and would not qualify for it to begin with. So today if you want to smoke pot you had better make sure of your source and also never let that source know who you really are. It that simple. Be extra cautious and you will not be caught, but if you light up in public you are going to et caught and only get one free pass. After that you will get all that the law wishes to give you. Seems more then reasonable to me. And before you all go running off saying that is not what Harper is proposing, remember it is only a draft of things for now and it can be changed if there was over whelming support for it. But this garbage about full legalization will never fly and it only hurst the discussions in most cases. Some of the posters are not only way out in the field but some are in the next stadium with their thoughts and opinions, at least those we can understand when posted.
  11. I doubt that Dion will have much sway as to how his party votes because most liberals will go to fall back and just try to protect their own seats and leave Dions wishes where he found them. Right now Dion knows he can not win an election and he also knows he will be removed as leader before there would be another election after this one, if it actually happened. There will be very little unity in the ranks for an election this fall, for the Libs.
  12. Tbud what you posted ahd noithign to do with any nmedical association or organization. It was a group of doctors peading for its use to help Cemo patients and give back appetites. They were not for legalization and definitely were not in support of the rest of what you were saying. Even you must have enough grey matter between your ears to understnad that. Shavluk is well... lets just say he should be acquainted with Mental health care workers, and I think you may benefit from joining him. For one thing, the support for controlled medical marijuana is legal now and after that use, 99% of that support drops off the subject. What the two of you are proposing is nothing short of comedy at its lowest denominator. There is no sense in persisting with you on this as you just do not comprehend anyything.
  13. Personally I think that any repeat offeder to using drugs should have a criminal record and if caught dealing Seven years for each time he is caught would be in order. By that I do not mean multiple counts are seperate, but for every seperate court trial. Therefore third offence you get 21 years. Yes I used used drug illicitly and no I do not think they are harmless even though some may not be as bad as others. It is like saying that we should make stealing just a fine and no record, because everyone has stolen something before, so lets just make it legal.
  14. What medical association did such a thing, as the Medical Association here in Ottawa sure did not and I am not aware thet any of the accredited health organizations did not such thing. They may have been a rogue doctor or two that have said such garbage, but there is not properly mandated organization that would even think about doing this. The only medicinal use for Marijuana is to stop the digestive problems of some cemothearpy users, and some for relief from severe glucoma. It is not a pain medicine and it does not react well with pain medicines. This would not even be akin to saying that you do not need aspirin because you can chew yellow willow bark and get the same thing, as Marijuana is not the same as any drug thta is prescribed. The active THC is not used medicinally.
  15. That is a good question to ask the border services of each country. It is mostly in the perception of the offences that I am sure we get the most problems with. As I said with my father ( now deceased by the way) he wintered in West Palm for years with not problem then around 1999 they turned him back because of his youthful DUI. He got the pardon here and had it file with the US Embasy here in Ottawa and never agin had a problem. So yes there are pardons and I guess if you have to ask about whether that is acceptable, you should write to the embassy or to the border services of that country. I do know that the embassy had a letter put in dads file about this and it was never questioned again.
  16. Harper in his throne speech will have an method of tax cuts and many other really wanted and wished for thing in there, just hoping that the opposition takes them down. First off he will have offered these cuts, so any party to then offer the same will be seen as coping the CPC format. There will be many other tidbits that will be there as well, so that voting this down will infuriate the voters to the point of them seeing the opposition as denying them these cuts. Lets face it, until we see the speech it will all be speculation. I still stand by my feelings that there will not be any election this fall, and if by any means I am wrong and one is called, it will be the people, who will be mad at the opposition rather then the CPC.
  17. I really do not care who knows who I am or does not know. I, because of my summary conviction here in Canada, would not ever try to enter the USA, as they would have a romm and board waiting for me for a restful 7 years. So I just do not go there period or fly with connection to it or any of its holding like Peurto Rico, US Virgin Islands etc.. I like Europe way more for holidays and Thaiti is way more fancinating to me then Hawii ever was. I did travel the USA coast to coast before my trouble and have seen most of what interested me. I will not go into the deaths I have seen in the under world drug trade, but let me just say there are some in this world that give animals bad names. The worst were the Tong wars in Toronto's China town during the 1960's. That was a messy time. The Dubois family grabbing power in Montreal in the late 60-early 70's was also bad, but that was then and this is now. While marijuana may have never killed you by overdose, just do not pay for what you got and see the end game. As for you or anyone thinking I am a hypocrite for my views goes, well I consider the source and then smile. Do you ever read what you post? My father used to winter in West Palm Beach, and the only criminal record he ever had was drunk driving when he was young, and yes once he was turned back from the border. He did go and get the pardon and had it filed with the USA Embassy in Ottawa where he lived and never had a problem since. When it comes to drugs though, there is no legal use and so they will not honour the pardon now will they. I am not so sure that they want you in Canada more then I want you in the USA , but such is life. Maybe after you get to be an elcted green party member you will be allowed into the USA. I have been on both sides of the law when it comes to drugs and personally I feel that Harpoers approach is probably too weak in some areas, but it is a start in the right direction. O yeah you were going to stop the war on drugs by making them all legal, remember that. Once the world has gotten stoned they all will want it more right?
  18. I was lucky enough not to get caught, but everyone the risks at the time and yes a criminal record is what you get. Most companies will overlook youthful records, and you can get your record sealed and pardoned after enough time has past, but yes it will still be available to police and the courts sytems, as it rightfully should be. I have no criminal record but I do have a record being kept by CSIS that is a very large pile of suspicion of this and that type stuff, but because as I said early in this thread thatmy teenage youth I knew alot of organised crime people and we were friends, so this was to be expected. Later in life I was convicted of a summary conviction, and still do not have a criminal record. Just because you get a criminal record, it does not mean you can not have it exponged and pardoned. So what is the big deal. You did break the law and you get that kind of thing when you do. Now would it be nice to see simple possession as a summary conviction? Well yes, but only for a first time, I would say Ok to that. But any repeat offenses should be then given the full weight of criminal behaviour. If an addict can stay clean for 10 years, he can get his record sealed and pardoned. It sounds liek a workable method and is being done now.
  19. My bad the set date is 2009. But as for who would the backlash be? Well, for one it would be for the opposition parties as a whole but mostly the LIB, and NDP. The bloc being in Quecbec will not face the same kind of backlash as most quebecers see them as perenial force against federal government. It is almost expected of them to vote down goverment. But they have recently lost a lot od the soft seperatist to become federalists, so their seats are all going to be in play, with many that will go CPC. The LIB in Quebec are not finished yet with scorn of the voters and so I think they will lose seats as well. Being that the NDP only won its recent quebec seat, I think it more of a protest vote then actually idealism, they will probably lose that seat as well. So I think Quebec will be the ripest place of all for Harper. As for the Ontario side of things, it will be a mirror of the last time but with maybe some seats in the cities going CPC just to hedge these areas bets. It will be strategic voting in the cities and Harper will still have all of the rural with maybe a seat ot two more in that. The NDP as I said will probaly lose the quebec seat, and Laytons cut and run approach to Afghanistan may well cost him a couple more, but of all the parties the NDP will lose but they will lose less. I personally think Harper will still get more seats. If not enough to a majority, then it will be a very slim minority.
  20. I have used pot and it just makes me sleepy and hungry. It does not affect me like I see others who do it. I saw early in my life that it was not something I would crave or even wanted. But I did not stop others from trying it. I can still say this though, that once kids try this and see they are not raving howling at the moon types they then try LSD and MDA and Meth, and Cocaine and even Heroine. For the most part they do not become addits to any of these, but a small percentage go on to abuse these harder drugs, and that is where we are today. I do not know of any people who started out with the hard drugs as their first use, and then went on to lesser drugs. The simple fact is it is against the law. While Harpers plan does not change that, it will change where and how the efforts at stopping this will take place. It is a good method and the plan has merit. While Canada does grow a lot of soft drugs, we also import alot of the hard drugs. The times are changing and the making of meth and ectasy, and others was just starting to be a big thing here, only because all the necessary ingredients were legally available here. With this new plan they will not be. Not that some enterprising person will then start making the precursor ingredients and keep them under ground from that time on. But it will be one more layer that will be open to the enforcement agencies. This will stop the all medications with Effedrine from being sold, as it is just an easy cooking step to make it Methadrine (speed). Anyone with a willful curiosity can find out how easy this is to do. The part of the plan to outlaw these products will crimp the style of many of the meth cooks out there, as most do not know enough chemistry to get around this kind of attack. For me the Harper plan is workable and well targetted. The opposition is only trying to poopoo the idea as it something they can try to make political hay with. I think the voters will see that and call them out on it. Scary scary liberals
  21. I love all the speculation about dates and timing etc.. But I will just have to put in my guess as the set election date in Oct of 2008. There will not be an election call this fall and it defies me as to where anyone would think it would be done. The Liberal party finances will not be in any shape to run an election the way they would like, and I do not think the NDP would be either. The Bloc will have less as the ruling liberal provincial government in Quebec, will not be as easy coming thru with the cash and the provincial PQ also will have less money to help out their federal cousins. Also are the facts that no one stands to gain any seats except the CPC, and all at the expense of the other parties. Does not even come close to being fertile ground for an election call. The Liberal will not be ready and Dion definitely has not unified the party yet and is in no position to run an election. But maybe the party does not care and only wants to have an election so Dion is defeated and leadership convention can be called. While I do not think it is that way, I will not say that it is without merit. Layton and the NDP, did ok last time out, but I do not see them winning much in an election at this time and to be exact, they may well lose the only seat they hold now in Quebec. It would be somethig they should be leary of. They relly would not have much to add to their last platform and right now voters will be more concerned with tax cuts then using that for more social spending. Just the general public feelings should tell them that it is not their type of time, for their ideas to be accepted. Even with all the pomp and posturing, I do not feel that the government will fall on the throne speech, and I do not see any real ripe times for that call, before the set date coming next year. I also think that most of the voters also feel this way and backlashes will be big for anyone calling an election before then.
  22. The criminal under world will always have its murders and killings. If it was not about drugs it would be about prostitution or something the like. What really kind of makes me nervous is the fact that the rantings of some, while mostly incoherent are really not in any way mainstream. Yes Canadians hate the word war, and would rather other words used. Most of the canadian public has had some time or other used soft drugs, and yes they can see curiosity as being a big cause for this in young people. So they do not want these to end up serving time for that. But this initiative is for going after the dealers and manufacturer's and making sure that they serve long prison sentences for their part in this plague on the lives of the drug addicts. I see this as a winner with the people, and I do not think it will be allowed to be turned against the government who brings this about. Only time will tell on that though. I was in my early time involved with drugs, and I do not mean so much as doing, but the dirty under belly of organised crime. It is no myth that most of the crime families will not allow their people to become addicted to drugs, as an addict can never be trusted. I saw more then my share of drug deaths and settling of accounts in my day, but I was smart enough by my early twenties to get out and away from those times, and the people. Many of that old gang were either murdered or are serving time. Which is what I figured was going to happen and why I left that behind. Harpers initiative will take the fight to that level and hopefully up from there, and that is where it needs to be done. The crime families will then be short handed for true non drug users to fill those ranks and will then start having drug users do this. That will be what weakens the "Omearta" of that way, and will be the opening to the family heads and all those beneath them. It is a good theory and yes the trouble with theories is that they tend not to do as well in execution. But they will still target the levels that need to be targetted. Shavluks thinking reminds me of those drug addelled people who used to sell drugs for ever trying to make enough to serve their habit. They never do,and in the end, always end up being used as an example to the next person who does not pay the piper. As for his running gren goes.... well I like comedy as much as the next person. I still though can not tie most of the sentences he wrote in his first post in this thread, to coherrent ideas, or even what I would say are fringe ideas. Sometimes in my life I try to look over the ledge and see what is going on underneath the normal street, and even with that in mind I do not see where Harpers plan should make anyone mad. It will make a lot od mid level dealers more nervous, and also by now outlawing the ingredients that are the precursors to cooking meth, that is all going to hit above the lower level people, and go to the more serious mid to high levels. This to me is better then anything else that has been put forward.
  23. The rich are taxed at 50% on their highest amounts. Would you tax them even higher?
  24. Not sure of just what your end game is in this post, but I see more reason to vote for Harper. But then again I am more inclined to think along the same lines as those people who burnt down the crak house in Ile deux Madeline. If more communities were willing to do this, or at least show proper support for the police in cracking down on this, then maybe there would be less of it. The longer we let the issue of hard core drugs go by the more users there will be. But if users seen by the community are basically ostracized by that community so they will have to leave, then maybe there would be fewer. The police can only make arrests. The community must set it social expectations and stick to them. When this gets done, there will be less drugs. When children are seen doing drugs the community should be first to act and let the parents know and then also act as a neighbourhood watch type plan to keep all aware of any further instances. I support Harpers view, but I also think that it is the communities that need to get off their apathy and do some local clean ups.
  25. Congestive heart failure is when the heart muscle fiber hardens and can no longer function well enough to do the job sufficiently. The cure is a heart transplant, at least now a days it is. In the not so distant past death was the main thing that happened. Many of the older preWWII times they used to call a lot of this consumption, so the early data about this will truly be skewed. If Chretien had congestive heart failure, then it would be interesting to see just where he would land on the transplant list. Even friends in high places should not be able to jump that que, but then again maybe someone would be willing to take that heat. But that is not the case we have today. My views on Chretian have not changed, but yes I can say that his timely operation, if it was done by his surgeon friend and did not bump any one on a waiting list, then it was above board.
