Pretty hard to argue with what Wild Bill is saying. Natives do have very serious credibility issues, not just in Caledonia but across the country. Why? Well perhaps it has to do with the widespread habit of ripping people off. Out here they now have problems buying major equipment, Combines, Trucks, that sort of thing. The reason being that many would enter into purchase agreements for items, take posetion of the items, take them to the reserve, make one payment, then never pay another dime. A car dealer actually went bankrupt around here because he sold too many units to Natives that were never paid for. He had a few problems with other folk but overwhelmingly his main problems collecting were with Natives. Of course he didn't get too much sympathy as the general belief was that he should have known better. So are these credibility issues racial or deserved? Well part of it might be racially motivated but I believe the majority of it is earned and based on experience.

Okay, thats enough of trying to be accommodating. As in they all suck. Given that I'm not a TV watcher I think the vast majority of shows suck so my opinion is entirely subjective. Well most do suck, especially those so called reality show pieces of crap. I have seen Corner Gas twice though, I did enjoy that. I have some friends from Saskatchewan and they've told me that small towns in Sask are very much as portrayed on that show.

Well this fellow is obviously already brain dead if he thinks not wearing a helmet on a bike is a good idea. Well what you wrote has absolutely nothing to do with Physics, but thats a rather quibbling point. I really don't agree with what you are saying though. I still hold to the belief that if you want it badly enough to do what it takes, then you shall have what you want. The only basis I can state for this belief is my own personal experience. It appears to be true though, I came to Alberta wanting a better life and willing to work for it. Now I have that better life and all else just seems to be undergoing a "snowball" effect. Everything in my life is getting better and better. Certainly I've had to work hard for it, but its all dependant on how much value you place on your wants. As an aside, I only came out here about 20 months ago from Ontario, so it doesn't take very long either. Thats why I cant agree with your Black man in 1930 assessment.

Hmmm, you got me again with this one Rue. I'm not really sure what you mean by the shower bit. I don't think I hate anyone, there are those I despise, those I hold in contempt, those whom I wish nothing to do with, but none I truly hate. It appears that skin colour is very important to you, it's not really important at all you know. I understand how you could become disheartened and even hate after what you say has befallen you. In my past I've had some very bad misfortune. It never occurred to me that I should hate all people of the particular colour shared by those who were instrumental in my misfortune. Instead I despised and held in scorn those who were a part of it, never hated them though. Hate is self defeating and also, I believe, the most powerfull word in our language. Not a good power though, a destructive power, as destructive to those who hate as it is to those who are hated. I already stated that I prefer to approach people on an individual basis rather than as a collective. If I find those who are parasitical and of low moral character I judge them as such. You may ask what gives me the right to judge anyone, and you would be correct to ask that question. The answer is that I have no intrinsic right to do so, merely my own standards that I use as a guiding light in my life. I ask nothing of anyone but myself and I offer what I can to those who may need it. Most certainly the colour of a persons skin does not enter this equation. Instead the colour of their character is the determining factor. Really it is a terrible shame that you suffered these misfortunes, as it would be for any who suffered such. Well thanks Rue. Nothing like starting the day with a little uncalled for insult. I don't quite see how you can make this claim in good faith. How do you know if he is or not? Because he doesn't pigeon hole nicely into what you perceive as Aboriginal doesn't mean he isn't one. I prefer to decide such things based on the merits of what he says, not what I believe he should say. If indeed he is not Aboriginal I'm sure it will come out conclusively sooner or later. If he is then I don't think any of us should be making claims to the contrary based solely upon our preconceived idealized version of what we would like things to be, rather than what they actually are.

I don't flinch because I don't believe it happened. Even if there were some attempt at the aforementioned I would attribute it to mankind, not some god or other. You could steal it but I'd just phone the on star people and they'd locate the truck, lock all the doors and disable the engine. Pretty hard to steal a vehicle when it shuts down on you and locks you in. Of course I'm sure you already knew this. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. The part that did come through loud and clear is the fact that you feel a great deal of hatred based upon racial parameters. All I can say is that such feelings are generally not good and will taint your own life experience. Not to mention the fact that you will probably miss out on knowing some very fine people because of this hatred. I prefer to deal with people on an individual basis myself, those deserving of respect receive it, those who are not will not receive it. This method seems to work rather well, thats why I don't hesitate to recommend it. Once again though, I really do think you should consider another occupation.
