I agree with you to a degree in that statement. Not all of them are dying though. Many times in the past I've mentioned that I work with some really great ones, have quite a few who are good friends and know others that I have great respect for. These are my "token Native friends" (as another poster has claimed) the one thing they all have in common is a desire and the motivation required to better themselves and improve their lives. They don't sit around wallowing in self pity, they get out there and do what they have to do in order to improve their lives, and they are succesfull. Those are the ones who aren't dying, they're embracing the future and moving into it instead of clinging to a dead past that no longer exists and actually can not exist any more. Unfortunatelly they appear to be quite outnumbered by the ones who want to be paid "forever" and live in the past "forever".

Actually no, at least not rabidly so, like some around here. I think you are more a creature of consciene who acts and speaks from a basis of sincere belief tempered with common sense and a fair bit of knowledge. Also a pretty good sense of humour. Does that answer your question?

Hear Hear! I second that. HiSself, grow up! All you are doing is showing people an example of the pampered spoilt self indulgent Western person. You obviously have no idea of how fortunate you are to live where you do. You live in a place where you can spout vitriolic juvenile displays of anger against your country and many of your fellow country men without worrying about a bullet in the back of the head one night. You live in a country where you don't see people walking around looking like living examples of the death camp survivors. Where you know you can eat, even if it is at a shelter or from a food bank. A country where you can ask for help and you will receive it, not a visit from some rival group and the bloodshed that goes with it. As I said, an example of the spoilt Westerner, enjoying the luxury of a freedom that allows them to rail against the very things that make their life, and temper tantrums, possible in the first place.

I'm an atheist. Jesus doesn't have any more spiritual significance to me than Ghandi. They both lived, they were both great men in their own ways, but not gods or godlike in any respect. I'm not trying top offend you but I think I'll skip the book. It sounds to me like it will mostly consist of a bunch of spiritual mumbo jumbo and claptrap that has no bearing on real life other than a few rather crude metaphoric instances. Whats wrong with the other group motivating themselves and making improvements to their lives? Why must they be paid "forever' in order to survive or prosper? Has there never been another group of people at a severe disadvantage who have managed to prosper without the benefit of handouts "forever"? If you think any sane person in this country would agree to pay another group of people "forever" then you really are severely disonnected from reality.

Honestly, I don't really care for Bose. The Brits make some of the best speakers and components around, Missions are good and KEF are outstanding. For entry level audiophile components its hard to beat Rotel. Canada has a good reputation amongst the high end crowd for excellent speakers, I always wanted some Mirage's myself. The Dahlquist, as mentioned were very good as well. I use Klipsh Pro Media Ultra's on my computer, they're not bad, not audiophile by any stretch of the imagination though. I am thinking about going to M-Audio's for the computer though, they're about the best you can get for computers. I like to keep my audio and computer systems seperate.

Some interesting points so far, on both sides. I feel the quoted statement should be addressed though. Quebecers are actually quite Zenophobic, this has been demonstrated time and time again. Personally I'm pretty sick of their whining and demands, their constant attitude of poor lil ole me. Cut em loose, they contribute nothing of value or worth to this country and merely continue to take a disproportionate amount. My ex wife was Quebecois and we spent quite a bit of time in the province. It always amused me when we'd go to a buisness of some kind and the people working there would start with the rude and racist remarks. That was my wifes cue to go into action and let them know that everything they were saying was being understood, and returned with interest. So, please do not attempt to alter the reality of the situation. Zenophobia and racism do exist and are quite common in Quebec.

Well, I hate to disagree, but I will. Let him have his voice, who are you, or for that matter myself, to try and stifle him? Let him talk, he has as much right to say what he wants as anyone else does. Most of the time I may not understand what he is saying but I'm sure it has meaning to him. So I think we should let the man say what he wishes to say, you can always ignore it if you find it offensive. Honestly, I don't think he fabricates or outright lies as others do to make their point, I think he honestly believes what he says.

Well I guess that answers my question. The reason I ask relates to what I said when the thread first started. that is, if used positively it could be a good thing. however, if used in cynical fashion it merely becomes a tool to further an agenda. It would appear that it is no more than a tool to be utilized, at least by the Mohawks anyway. So, back to the question. Does anyone know if all groups reject it? Or is it only the Mohawks who do?

Wearing no clothes at all as an esential part of ones identity is stretching it quite a bit and is so improbable as to never arise. Being a Transvestite is a lifestyle choice, I don't know of any religion that dictates transvestism (?) as a requirement of the religion so no, they would have to wear the male uniform. For now, until someone challenges it in court, then that would probably change. As for the point that no statistics exist from WWII showing turbans to less safe than helmets. Give me a break man! However, plenty of countries have been minding there own busness and been invaded anyway, so in that aspect you are hugely incorrect. Have you actually seen what passes for Culture amongst Canada's "artistic" crowd? Given the utter garbage and irrelevant tripe they produce then I would say yes, it doesn't matter. If what they produce can be classified as "culture" then we'd all be better off without it. When we give tax credits for Canadian cinematic efforts we are in fact operating a form of welfare. I've yet to see a Canadian movie that was worth wasting the time to watch, without Government assistance these movies would never see the light of day. There's a damn good reason for that.
