I agree Cap, the do appear all the same. Why is that? Non-stop bickering instead of moving this country forward. Everyday the Politicians try and win browny points with the public using not the issues but perceived failures or "Supposed" scandles of the current PM. I'm tired of the Liberals squacking, in fact they piss me off to the ninth degree. The public is knumb from corruption and Politicians that are loyal to their party but not to the people who elect them. For things to change Politicians need to ascertain who do they work for? We the public who voted them into office or the Party they Represent. Many moons ago if you elected an MP he fought for the people who elected him, do that in today's political climate and it's suicide. I am tired of inept, petty narrow minded narcissistic politicians. They are the ones who need to change not the voters. In Cape Breton they use to give away a free forty of rum if you voted, I suppose that could help. It is not possible to NOT lean left or right, and it isn't the voters fault it's the Poltical Parties that have divided this country by using Same Sex Marrage and Abortion as weapons to beat the right about the head. The left force their idiology on society, like it or not we are divided by our political and ethical beliefs. To state one should not lean one way is nonsensical and absurb. If the issues were what really matter than Lian Brian wouldn't be the hot topic our economic growth would be. Ottawa has become a freak show and the Liberals are the main attraction.

Currently our immigrants come from all over the globe, I not sure of all of the requirements but it's a labourous process. Language and education are key areas that must be met though. Our refugees are the ones that get immediate access to social programs, they can also sponsor family members. The EU has no restrictions on immigration, and it's members are told how many immigrants they HAVE to accept. Canada's Immigration System is so broke that qualified immigrants often give up out of frustration. We won't be flooded with immigrants or refugees anytime soon because the system is inept. In lean times I take on contracts that I don't normally do, one is processing Rental Applications and in twenty years I've had no immigrants apply for an apartment who were receiving welfare. Not one. I've had two refugees on something akin to welfare apply and that's it. The ones that drain the system, my opinion only, are young white females. Of those that have applied forty percent have no employment history, no rental history and appalling credit history. These are the ones that get welfare for life if they have enough children. In my small town the recent new immigrants are from Africa, Muslims yes but very moderate ones. The females don't cover up, they don't pray five times aday and have the odd beer. I often have a chat with a couple on their new life, they are so grateful to have fled the violence against Moderate Muslims by the radical Wahhabi Arabs they shed the extremism like a cloak. They stated they hated the Wahhabi Islamist for forcing their version of Islam on them using violence. These new comers started a thriving business (brick masons) and are a valuable asset to Canada. I have no issue with Immigrants, if they integrate and come to love this country as I do. Everything in moderation is okay, it's the extremist that can go else where. Merci.

This issue isn't about "Whites" subjugating blacks it's a few blacks demanding segregation and apartied. How will these children advance academically by segregation? What does not make sense to me Smallc is that Social Agencies enforce ridget rules to punish those on a barely livable income from earning a livable income? In NS a welfare recipient can only earn 2000 a year, instead of allowing them to work at a full time min wage job and still receive full benifits. Why aren't these agencies updating their programs to make them progressive. A single male in Canada receives 8000 a year on disablity, gross, to survive. How can anyone survive on this? I'd like to see programs in place that encourage people on Social Programs to get into the work force without losing their core benifits. I have no problem allowing them to get full benifits for five years if they work full time. This will allow them to establish an employment history. After five years they should of moved up the pay scale in the service sector to be weened of benifits. It's if the Social Agencies want to keep them on assistance.

Great story jbg. My community is a farming community and our community is popular with Polish Immigrants. When I was in grade six several Polish Children became students, they spoke no English. It was the custom at the time to pair new immigrants students with a "Buddy". It was my job to work with her to teach her English and help her in her integration and studies. It was a wonderful program, I learned as much from her as I hope I tought her. The ironic thing was her name was the same as mine just spelled and enunciated differently. Kids helping kids, regardless of language and culture and race is the first step in aiding new immigrants. They could be a wonderful source of aiding new immigrants, children are tought how to be racists if we get them to accept all people while they are young the future is indeed a wonderful one. Could someone please explain who's suffering from "Poverty"? We have generous welfare programs, to generous because they stay on it for a lift time in NS. We have disability, The Compensation Board, UI, parental leave, the list of social programs is endless so who is living in "Poverty"? The homeless choose to live on the streets to feed an addiction and the youth want to partyyyyyyyyyy hardy thus they live on the streets instead of their bedrooms at home. They don't like rules and restrictions. The only true victim of poverty that I'm aware of is the Mentally Ill, we shut down institutions and small option homes in the name of "Diversity" and "Compassion" but these people can't 'function outside of a controlled environment. Yea I know Capricorn, my husband served in Bosnia and Croatia-two tours. He was lucky he came back sane, a friend came back broken and he aged forty years suffering from TB.
