  1. I can't wait to hear about this one. Come on, spill the beans so I can formulate an application to the International Criminal Court in the Hague. The future of humanity depends on it.
  2. You don't intimidate me one bit HE with your insults. You may now continue with your off topic unintelligent inane postings.
  3. Now don't get mad at me if I'm being honest here, but unlike you, I have a life.
  4. I doubt you know many Americans. How could you when you don't leave mama's basement.
  5. You really are a 2 trick pony. "US are terrorists/war criminals" and 9/11 conspiracy. At least you're consistent.
  6. Khadr is out on bail as of April 2015. In essence he is a convicted criminal on release from prison with strict conditions. He was charged and convicted of a number of crimes and is currently appealing such conviction. Should not have the $10.5M been placed in an escrow account pending the outcome of his appeal? What if the courts uphold the guilty verdict? If that should happen, no way would Khadr be entitled to access that money. It's a well established premise in Canada that convicted criminals not profit from their crimes.
  7. Correction. It was Harper's government that orchestrated his repatriation to Canada. I wouldn't call that refusal to help.
  8. Of course, any opinion that does mirror yours is crap.
  9. Without researching it, I can tell you offhand that Human Rights Tribunals do assign dollar awards.

  11. I did not complain about it. I simply stated it as a fact.
  12. Goodale was caught off guard by some of the questions of reporters. He won't release the monetary amount but agreed with the reporter that the amount will be released in the fall when claims against the Crown are published. Oh boy! He's out buying socks or accepting socks as gifts.
  13. No, I suggested the government should have taken its chances and gone to court to answer to Khadr's monetary demands.
  14. According to one reporter, we should find out in the fall the amount of the settlement when the government publishes financial information on claims against the Crown and how much was paid out.
  15. If that's the case, why did the government and its lawyers spend $5M in court fees before coming to that conclusion?
  16. Five years ago this month I quit a 30-year pack a day smoking habit cold turkey. Best thing I ever did. Better lungs and more shopping.

Hey Army Guy, one year is fantastic congrats. Yes, the odd time cravings pop up but not enough to go back to the cancer sticks.

  17. Spoken like a real Islamist apologist.
  18. In mulling over the comments made by Goodale at the press conference, one thing sticks out for me. We know that the Supreme Court did not put a dollar figure on the compensation to be paid to Khadr. Goodale stressed that agreeing to the negotiated compensation was done because not doing so could have resulted in the court setting a higher amount, perhaps $20M, the amount claimed by Khadr and his lawyers. Here's my question: how does Goodale know that the court would not have set the compensation at a much lower amount than $10.5M? How does Goodale know the court would have awarded the maximum claimed by the plaintiffs? Or, is it that the government does not have confidence in their lawyers to properly argue the case before the courts. Bottom line, I would have more respect for the Liberals had they enabled the process of compensation to go forward in court. At least the Liberals could have said "We tried to get the best financial outcome possible." Seems to me most Canadians would have responded well.
  19. A press conference is scheduled for 11:45 this morning where 2 Liberal cabinet ministers will formally apologize to Khadr. No cheque presentation as the cheque has already been been given to Khadr and cashed. All this done while Trudeau is conveniently absent from Ottawa and unable to deliver the good news to Canadians himself. The wording of the apology should be interesting.
  20. That would explain why so few FNs join the military.
  21. No can do. HRCs are the closest we have to Sharia Law, for now.
  22. Kim Jong-un is flexing his muscles, not just to make threats against the US and his other enemies, but to impress North Koreans. He needs to have the populace cowing in fear that should they provoke their President he would turn his rage against them. As I see it, all long lasting dictators have used this ploy to hold their iron grip on power.

      From the same link:

"Late last month, the name of founding father Hector-Louis Langevin was stripped from the building that houses the Prime Minister's Office on Parliament Hill.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the government was responding to feedback that there was "deep pain" associated with seeing the name on a government building."

This gives me "deep pain" too, and it's not hemmeroids.

  24. You should work on new material as you're boring and repeating yourself. Or, you could stick to your 9/11 conspiracy thread where your real talent lies.
  25. Rue, I share your outrage at this obscene payout to a traitorous jihadist. Unfortunately, successive Canadian governments have failed to address the problem of Canadians of convenience who suck on our generosity then leave to fight against our military and our allies in foreign countries. We need a government with balls to tackle this head on, not one led by a celebrity who compares his socks to those he happens to be sitting by.
