  1. Three polls this evening re my pick for Conservative leader.

  2. I vacationed in the mid-eighties in Venezuela. Such a beautiful country, thriving and vibrant. I can't believe what is happening there now. As explained in the following linked article, Venezuela is oil rich but cash poor. They no longer even have the means to get their oil to market. http://www.dw.com/en/5-things-to-understand-about-oil-rich-cash-poor-venezuela/a-38478166 As Argus said the country on the verge of civil war. It's difficult to ascribe a motive as to why Venezuela's leaders chose to seize the GM plant. I haven't found anything on the web to shed light on said motive other than Venezuela's leaders don't know what they're doing. It truly is a sad scenario.
  3. Could it be that the (make believe?) hijackers carried those fake airplane parts in thermal body armor and then deployed said parts shortly after impact. I mean, that there alone would confuse all of the experts wouldn't it?
  4. I prefer all 9/11 conspiracy theory discussion to be centralized so that I know exactly where to go for my daily entertainment.
  5. Don't we already have a 9/11 thread? Realistically, how many do we need?
  6. Reading some posts makes me feel like MLW has its own Deep Throat. The Twilight Zone redux.

      Hahahaha.  Speaking of Twilight Zone......

  7. Lawyers can be president, politicians can be president. heck even actors can be president. Therefore, I can't see why a businessman can't be president. Of course, in Trump's case it would make no difference what his profession, he simply doesn't appeal to many people.
  8. No doubt. Yet, we've no choice but to accept Trump was elected POTUS and for all our sakes, he needs to succeed in these critical decisions.
  9. So he discovers he has a lot to learn. And exactly what is wrong with that? This is not exclusive to Trump. In Trump's case he must learn quickly given the impact his decisions have are far reaching.
  10. My ads are on the side too. I prefer them in that location rather than between forums or topics. The problem is many of the products I see advertised I've already bought.
  11. I doubt that's the reason. Trump came into the POTUS job without any political experience. He is growing in the job and I'm sure he's now realizing the magnitude of his responsibilities as Commander-in-Chief. Seeing as Canada largely relies on the US for its defence, I wish him well.
  12. "lil old ladies" is not a race. It's OK though, I know what you mean. Waiting in line behind them while they dig around in a small change purse can challenge your patience.
  13. For the first time I'm seeing ads on this site. What's up?

  14. To Eyeball and Topaz, and others on here whose relatives have served, I'm so very grateful for their service.
  15. This may come as a surprise to you, but some people join the military simply because it is a JOB. I would rather see them working in the military than being unemployed.
  16. That's probably because they were not killed while they were younger fighting off a cougar and they're pissed off because of it. A number of my geriatric relatives have said to me "don't grow old in this country".
  17. I heard one comment that dictators/tyrants use such terror attacks to bring their citizens to heel. It is one tool at their disposal to discourage said citizens from opposing their command over them. Purges have similar outcomes.
  18. There is a good chance that you, kimmy, will one day fit that demographic.
  19. The proof is solid enough to convince Trudeau that Assad is behind the chemical weapons attack. With that, I would not be inclined to insist that the US intel community make public what they know. http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/trudeau-convinced-by-u-s-info-that-assad-was-behind-gas-attack-1.3358828
  20. You're not a clairvoyant and neither am I. Unlike you, I am prepared to accept that once Assad is neutralized, that situation will be addressed and resolved. And you never know, the solution to the "power vacuum" that you so dread, might just come from the Syrians themselves.
  21. Oh I see, you're major concern is what happens after Assad. So you would keep a war criminal in power because you fear the result of taking him down. Power vacuum means nothing when a country's innocents are being wiped out. I say let's deal with one problem at a time.
  22. Hey that's fine by me. If it makes you feel any better, I don't doubt millions feel the same way.
  23. Sorry to disappoint you, you won't see any such proof here.
  24. Assad is a madman. He doesn't need incentive to kill his own people. The Syrian army is there to carry out the madman's orders lest they suffer the same fate as those he executed. Why does a madman wait to do anything. Your guess is as good as mine. I would say that Assad knew that Russia had his back and would be there to help him out of the pickle they caused by killing civilians.
