  1. or the ultimate in hypocrisy from the US! http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3508909,00.html US warns Russia not to encourage Georgian separatists The United States warned Russia on Tuesday not to encourage separatists in the Republic of Georgia by comparing their cause to Kosovo's. never mind that's what we did , don't you do it!
  2. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml.../wserbia223.xml Serbian settlers plan partition of Kosovo Kosovo, the world's newest state, is facing a partition of its territory only a week after it unilaterally declared independence from Serbia. I notice the use of the word 'serbian settlers' great bs phrase! did they just move there? lol!
  3. Do you think the US government has not thought of that already? still the benefits outweighed the costs.
  4. I am aware of that, and it is all smoke and mirrors. I am aware of that also.
  5. If that is the case wrt Katrina, and I cannot recall, to be honest, then why sign an agreement, at all? Why just not leave it as it has been?
  6. but, no matter the word dancing, you employ clearly they can be deployed here or `stationed`here. with there weapons they can kill Canadian citizens in their own country. Wether by 'invitation' as nonsensically as you put it, or otherwise the end result is the same they, are here, and canadian citizens are under there authority.
  7. Any foreign troops on Canadian soil is an issue that begs for debate, and the consent and knowledge of the people of Canada.!!! you said there is accountability , where is it?
  8. Another thought? Canadian troops will be facing a much larger, armed populace then the American troops here, therefore, how do we feel about Canadian troops being potentially shot at by American citizens. For Americans is this a way for your government to circumvent posse comitatus. Posse comitatus is a U.S. law that prohibits the use of federal troops from conducting law enforcement duties on domestic soil unless approved by Congress.
  9. Was it debated before it was signed, it's already signed , you do realize that? So your claiming accountability, where is the accountability? when was there even the debate? I am not an elected representative btw.
  10. was it debated in parliament? let me know?
  11. you finally get it leafless! The war on terror is all smoke and mirrors! The US recognizesd Kosovo, cause it serves their interests to do so. They even got their favourite gun runnning/drug dealing terrorist KLA in as the government, how beautiful is that for the US, it is the government of their dreams corrupt and easy to manipulate, get it?!
  12. I don't think Americans would feel to OK with Canadian troops on their soil. i could be wrong, but I don't think so. American woman what do you think? Do you have some issues with this?
  13. we know about it after the fact. We didn't decide on this,we the electorate did not choose this. well where is the accountability??????
  14. wow magrace do you notice the rhetoric heat up? rather then discuss the issue, we got the buzzwords flying around! I was waiting for the 'anti-american' shrieks of hysteria to start up, isn't it amazing? No problem with foreign troops possibly killing Canadian citizens during what kind of 'emergencies'???? totally non-specific.
  15. lol and how foolish, Are you at all pro-canadian? controlling our own sovereign issues? and civil or domestic issues that concern canadians? Or are you so anti-canadian, you display zero concern about foreign troops on our soil? How about UN troops? You okay with them too?
  16. Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other's borders during an emergency, but some are questioning why the Harper government has kept silent on the deal. Neither the Canadian government nor the Canadian Forces announced the new agreement, which was signed Feb. 14 in Texas. that qualifies as behind the electorals back, without accountability
  17. capitalism is a wacky scheme. It encourages people to hold a pipedream of "we can all be rich if we just ???" work hard enough, fill a need, hatch a scheme .whatever. It totally ignores the fact that it, capitalism, needs a class of poor/dependant, the kept, so the rich/keepers can succeed. It also relies big time on exploitation, of workers, environment, resources, etc.,
  18. http://www.canada.com/topics/news/story.ht...79d&k=14984 who is going to control the American soldiers???? one doesn't have to be 'left wing' or 'right wing' to find numerous issues with this one, always with the labels, how petty! Why didn't Harper or his gov announce it? Why is this even necessary? Gosh, did we in this democracy vote to have foreign troops on our soil? Aren't foreign troops on someone else's soil generally invaders? occupiers? Did the Americans vote for foreign troops to rule them? North American Union here we come?! The integration of the use of the two militaries on each others soil could indicate that? Or is it simply that the american soldiers not being our countrymen would have less of a qualm about shooting a canadian and vise versa? Or is it something else? Personally I find this quite worrisome, clearly Harper gov did not announce the agreement, because of the bad press it would have inevitably got had he stood in front of the camera's. I don't recall an election platform that would allow foreign troops on our soil being ok'd?
  19. can harper seduce women? do we have a barfing icon? He's like a cold gust of wind on an already frosty day. Frigid. and sneaky.
  20. I enjoyed family day in ON, I spent it with my family! no shopping necessary. we already have every other day for that. how much shopping does anyone really need to do anyway? over all 2 thumbs up!
  21. You won't catch hell for this. I don't think it's values, it is IMO the breakdown of a cohesive society, wether it is family, close, extended or otherwise. It is people not talking to people, not talking to neighbours, people not interacting and alienating themselves. to blame families many of whom struggle with low paying jobs , difficulty making ends meet, is counter productive. They already struggle. Wages have been stagnant in real terms for something like 30 yrs, meanwhile look at the price of homes? I don't think being aware of emotions is problematic in fact I have never heard of that before? I have some serious issues with that!!!!! That is problematic to be sure, but it goes back to overworked parents, overcrowded classrooms, governmental guidelines, the goal of conformity , and more.
  22. as opposed to marcinmoka, the "decider"? The "judger' of other's reading habits, intelligence et al? LOL. I have a different opinion then you , live with it. No need to be insulting as you so choose. Ah if only your judgement were remotely correct.......sigh. Your humorous , if nothing else, though I'll give you that. BTW: I am glad you know your place! wrt : the cartoon, they were published in numerous places, they were available on-line ,widely available, so the "right to free speech" arguement is superficial.
  23. lol, reading is very much my forte. You should see our personal library! 1000 plus books BTW: I prefer history and politics, media , philosophy etc.,(esoteric) My spouse prefers gardening, green energy, solar power, etc.,(practical) I simply choose to read, less about nonsense then some people suggestion read up on the history of wartime propaganda then you willl get a sense of the purpose of these cartoons, k? and when you have read as much literature as I know I have and I question how much you have read , we can discuss scapegoating, the need for an enemy and how it all works in to propaganda useage. Like I said I simply don't see the cartoons as a 'free speech' issue, but it sure sounds nice that way, eh? well to some anyway? Isn't their another thread in this forum on that topic, that you can discuss the subject to your hearts content?
  24. I think you are on to something, it is not the ease of access to guns. I personally think people should have the right to bear arms. I believe it is a disconnect in society, a sense of hoplessness, despair, etc., As a whole, society has lost it's cohesion and people feel they do not belong to their society at large.
  25. BC chick your mistaken only 'arabs/muslims committ these types of acts, in the whole entire world. random murders, not superior and civilized western people, who have more superior civilizations and superior ethics and morals. oops sorry I was spoofing off of the usual suspects who always allege our superior ways, and rabidly over simplify complex issues, and the fact that as a society we are so civil and non-violent, LOL! It certainly doesn't appear that way now does it?
