  1. Wore a hoodie today. I love them. I'm not a "gangsta". Ban backwards ballcaps, that's the real enemy! How about we ban friggin' morons who shoot people?
  2. China and India, our future masters. All hail Asians.
  3. I see lots of overweight cats, it must be a widespread problem. I don't remember seeing a lot of dogs and saying "wow that's a fat dog". But all those monster cats... Sorry to hear Teddy.
  4. This is the future. I want self-driving cars. I want my own robo-cheffeur. Driving kinda sucks. It's the most dangerous thing we do everyday by a long shot. There are risks in this, like hacking as mentioned, and technical glitches, but if ironed out this could be a revolution. Car accident rates could plummet if they master this tech, so many lives could be saved. And no more a-hole drivers to contend with! Instead of worrying about steering I could catch a nap or read the news on my way to work. I would also like self-driving ride-on lawnmowers so I don't have to cut the grass. And self-driving snow-blowers!
  5. When I was a kid my dad bought me a new bike at Canadian Tire with all of his saved up Cnd Tire money. The bike was almost $100, and the cashier looked mighty PO'd she had to count all that money up AHAHAHAA!! It was such an epic wad of Cnd Tire money. And yes, they're getting rid of the money, I don't think they give it out anymore.
  6. Same. I hate pennies. Women, with purses and better means to carry pennies, probably dislike them a bit less. They'll round up or down depending on the final after-tax price, and they can't predict how many or what items people buy in total at their store for the most part, so they won't really be able to manipulate prices by pegging them at a price to always round up from say 9.95 or 9.96 to $10. The exception might be companies that usually only sell one item at a time, ie: cars, but then who cares lol. But services (ie: haircuts, oil changes etc.) could manipulate their prices like this to take advantage.
  7. There are albino animals in nature, maybe even rhino's, so this case should be thrown out. Some people are short, ban all shortstops! Batting averages go up 100 points!
  8. I like that guns are allowed on TV at basically any hour of the day, but not tits. Boobs, natural to human body, are offensive, but not machines designed to murder.
  9. From Wikipedia: Wasn't even draft eligible anymore by the time he started working for the government. A baby I can understand. Wonder how he got the other ones.
  10. I would have done the same if I could, but that's because I probably wouldn't have agreed with the war at the time. I imagine that Cheney supported the war, but just didn't want to man-up. Wuss. Smart wuss, but a wuss.
  11. He never apologized to him personally, clearly implied by the victim himself.
  12. Oh for Pete's sake, more of the same AW defensive nonsense, getting your back up like a porcupine when a Canadian criticizes the US. Who cares about the "moral high road". Your government killed hundreds of thousands of people based on lies. Deal with it. Expect to get a little heat when that happens. And no, I'm not glad Saddam is dead, but I'm glad he's out of power. I don't care if you have any respect for my or others' outrage. I'm going to criticize anyone and any government I choose and there's nothing you or BC's or anyone else's whining can do to stop that.
  13. Agreed, legal precaution.
  14. Cheney wasn't upfront at all! Crown that idiot for being one of the all-time lying, deceptive, & crooked politicians in the history of liberal democracies. Everyday it was more BS, and he'll keep it up to his grave. Chretien was a liar and an arrogant crook throughout his time as PM. The reason Canadians are more upset about Cheney over Chretien is how many more people Cheney killed as a result of his policies. Chretien is no perfect saint re: Iraq, but we don't really know the details of what, if any, covert support he provided the US. Yes the Chretien gov should be investigated 100%. I don't apologize for going after Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld and co. far more vigorously. Your government LIED to my government re: intelligence, and every other gov in the world in trying to build their war case and to get Canada & everyone else on-board. That should be a massive crime in itself. The US is lucky that Canada didn't fully join the coalition and many Cnd soldiers didn't die over the lies, or there would be hell to pay in Cnd/US relations. Bush/Cheney/Rummy etc. should be in The Hague, rotting. I've always stated that one of the biggest travesties of the Iraq war is that none of the key perpetrators were held legally accountable, and no new significant laws/procedures were put in place in the US to prevent such a monstrous deception from happening again. Iraq 2 could happen tomorrow, and could even happen with Iran.
  15. He also applied for and was granted 5 draft deferments during the Vietnam War. He is a wuss. There are legit security concerns, but I wouldn't think that would bother such a wannabe hardass.
  16. Pro: you can save up money and figure out what career you'd like Con: many people who take extended time off post-secondary school never go back. High schools should do so much more career-testing, counseling, and job shadowing, as should post-secondary institutions, to help kids figure out what they want to do. I just think it's really hard to know what career you'd like when you're 17/18. I didn't.
  17. I agree. Universities and colleges should be job factories, IMO. They are just too expensive, even when highly publicly subsidized, to waste the time/money on learning unemployable knowledge. Knowledge of the arts/humanities etc. is extremely important, but you can get it free with nothing more than library card. There is something to be said for being able to critically analyze and to write well, but when everyone can do it it's not very employable. Graduating with a degree in Sociology, or English, or History etc. with no plan on how to use that degree in employment is such a travesty, and it's often not really the kids' fault as they don't really know how the world works right out of high school, and by the time they're in 3rd/4th year and figure out they are a bit screwed it's too late. The gluttony of Arts degrees is one of the reasons I'd theorize that so many grads go into teacher's college, or the gov't, since those are the major areas they can qualify for given their Arts education.
  18. Yup pretty ironic that he'll send other people's kids into a warzone, but he won't send himself to Canada out of personal safety concerns.
  19. Agreed. Peaceful protesting is fine, but blocking people's right to speak is just wrong. Although, some speaking engagements have been cancelled in Canada seemingly just have from the shher size of the peacefully protesting (though loud and vocal & seemingly not happy lol) crowds being a safety concern in themselves even though they posed no imminent threat, which is understandable. I think that's what happened at one Ann Coulter event if I recall. But still, there have been more than enough other not-so-pleasant incidents. Also, I apologize for being rude to you in one of my other replied. Not called for, I'm sorry.
  20. Neither do I, we agree. The young people here in Canada especially I have noticed, on campuses and whatnot, do not seem to have any idea what the Charter is or what it entails, or at least have no respect for it. I've taken university classes recently in political science, and the kids are smart as a whip, but for some reason when it comes to political action outside the classroom many of them turn into idiots, and scary ones at that. Let's just say, I'm quite concerned for the future of Canadian politics.
  21. K, only Canadian songs from me from now on!
  22. Well, on topic to your response then, what I took the comment I posted to mean is that if Canada is too dangerous a place for Cheney to come visit then virtually any country is unsafe for the man. Nobody is claiming Canada is without crime, but given Canada's low crime rate, where would it be safe for Cheney to speak then? Antarctica?
