  1. there is a nuclear threat, but it is dismal. WMD's are used for deterence and are not that practical for many situations. a large portion of the USA's and Russia's arsenal are mounted in ICBM's, or are high yeild bombs to be dropped from planes. now with a 1 superpower dynamic, currently, there is no nuclear arms race. it is because of this the US envisioned "civilian safe" nuclear weapons, which they named tactical nuclear weapons. they said they were safer because the explode 30-50 feet underground, and are half the size of little boy to 6 times as large. to make it even worse, a 3 star general can order the use of these tactical nuclear weapons in any theatre... theses nukes are still nukes nontheless, they are just sugar coated to get approval. and even more threatening now is the build up of directed energy weapons. as of now the US is an industry leader. it is now possible, using THEL, to shoot down multiple incoming missles and mortar rounds. these lasers can definetly shoot down ICBM's with a little fine tuning, if they cant as of now. they also have force fields :|... yes it is now possible to destroy the warhead before it comes in contact with any tank or vehicle equipped with this technology. the us currently uses microwave weapons in iraq. these penetrate the skin only a fraction of a millimeter and cause no lasting damage, but it hurts alot. as of now theyre called active deterence systems, but they're currently only using a fraction of the power available and could easily become a horrifying weapon. all of these technologies the US posses's could effectively start a new arms race. and it might have already...russia has repeatedly voiced its concerns about the USA's star wars program. an arms race wouldn't end up with other countries utilizing this incredible technology, it would most likely cause other countries to find other ways to attack using nuclear ordanance, which is much cheaper.
  2. the subordinate was mentioning prepared. good or bad in the grandest scheme equates to life and death. im saying that could survive climate change, but as of now, the majority is unprepared, and we have no real plan of action. as you said "There have been huge swings from Ice Age to interglacial period" yet we still exist, yet life still exist. surely you do not think a change in climate means an end of all life, it means that the animals that evolve to the changes will survive, and those who don't die.
  3. to be honest with you, ive never read that much into it. im not even sure if this is in the realm of possibility but ive had an inkling since the war in iraq started. couldn't he stay in power and justify it because the country is at war? he gave himself presedential authority, which is the power to do anything. bush also -made it legal to tap phones without a warrant -made it mandatory for phone companies to monitor phone conversations and if you read the patriot act you will find about 800 ammendments that contradict the constitution
  4. climate change is happening, wether or not its good or bad depends on what we make of it. weather has always led to evolution. a changing enviroment demands a change in the way of life. the only question is can we adapt? for the most part i think we will be fine. global warming does not only entail warming of the planet, it also causes sporadic weather patterns, and potentially old cycles are disrupted (our seasons). a tornado in london england, how rare was that? here in ontario we've been fluctuating between -30 and +4 celsius. we've only had 1 major snow fall. in BC theyve had the costliest season yet. vancouver had a snow storm in november, then later had several sever storms that caused millions in damages. and if we look south, yes south, we will find MORE snow. in upstate new york they got 6 feet in 1 week... as of now i dont think we are prepared, but i doubt we will act until it becomes essential/profitable.
  5. your guess is as good as mine. it doesn't automatically validate his past actions, perhaps he didnt care about the mid term because he has given himself presedential authority. how about adressing the legalization of the torture, the use of incindiary weapons, and an unjust war...maybe its just me but those all seem to be alot more important to me ;\ and the supposed issue between the republicans and the democrats is the war. even though there a majority of dissaproval that didn't stop them from sending 21, 000 more troops. does that sound very democratic to you?
  6. if youre an american citizen you have not yet felt the toll of the 1 trillion + spent on this war. you will not be forced to enlist in the army. and there's a pretty damn good kill-death ratio if you're iraqi your country is in shambles. 3 sepperate sects are waging war for control of the nation. the one leader who was able to contain this violence had been assasinated, and even worse by the other sect, causing even more hatred and violence. your vast oil fields have been sold without your consent, the only value, the source of your GDP, everything is gone. the infrastructure is barely functioning, and very little has been spent on rebuilding. many see all the negative things going on, and decide to act agaisnt what is causing this, the americans. these "terrorist" are doing nothing more than protecting their interests. the reason they use terrorism is because they have no other means. picture the USA saying to the UK "we believe you are a threat, and we're going to take all your capital, and all your assets, in essence your soul". if such a statement was ever procured, and acted upon surely the UK would protect themselves from the american agressors. and this is what the "terrorists" do, they try to beat an enemy thats pretty much invulnerable, and has the backing of the oil giants. if you're among the select few who actually decide policy, you're ecstatic. you have succesfully privatized the nationalized iraqi oil. and even better yet, solely with american and british corporations. the profit being made is huge. they get it for nothing because they killed for it. their kids will never have to fight in these wars. and most assuredly these people do not need any more money, but its what they hunger for. you see it's unfortunate. none but the latter actually have a vote that counts in all of this. this is based upon the corporate/super rich agenda, and believe me, they're DEFINETLY benifiting from our suffering.
  7. i perfectly agree with chavez. bush has made it legal to torture pow's and suspected terrorists, suspended habeas corpus on terrorism charges, he has used phosporus weapons in iraq contrary to the geneva convention, he(his masters) completely fabricated the evidence for a war in iraq WHERE'S THE EVIDENCE, he gave himself executive authority, he defined terrorism as anything. straight from the patriot act `(5) the term `domestic terrorism' means activities that-- `(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; `( appear to be intended-- `(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; `(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or so wait, if the citizens try to change the governments policy it is and act of domestic terrorism? if anyone tried to change the way of the population that would also be illegal? and any act that is dangerous towards a humand life, like what smoking? do you see how broad these terms our. it's even worse when in a g*d damn legal document they use "appear to be intended" ...this whole thing is just an excuse to control us.. he RIGGED both election, etc, etc, etc if ww3 is the only way to stop this empirical war machine, so be it.
  8. what do we have to be afraid of. 3000 people died of 300 million in the us they just want us to live in fear so we sacrafice our rights and liberties for a false sense of security. wether you are willing to accept it or not, this is the exact same thing hitler did. we are now united against a common enemy, 1st identified as terrorist extremists, but if you listen to fox news or CNN it appears thats its shifting. it is shifting towards a broader category, that of muslims. and if you asked an american why they attacked on sept 11th, it was because of their religion, or because theyre jealous of our freedom. LOGICALLY how does it make sense, look what the "terrorist" have brought upon themselves, if they actually are responsible. an attack on the US is the EXACT opposite thing they would want to do. and for the most part we hear of al queda in the news. it was started and initially funded by the US, and was implimented to fight of the red invasion of afghanistan in the 80's. and if you dont think they're controlling us, or trying to straight from the patriot act `(5) the term `domestic terrorism' means activities that-- `(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; `( appear to be intended-- `(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; `(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or so wait, if the citizens try to change the governments policy it is and act of domestic terrorism? if anyone tried to change the way of the population that would also be illegal? and any act that is dangerous towards a humand life, like what smoking? do you see how broad these terms are. this whole thing is just an excuse to control us.. i also reccomend that you read the patriot act, its 1000 pages + taking away rights, it's ridiculous. it grants bush immunity, what about the magna carta... this whole thing serves the corparate agenda perfectly.
  9. Moreover these bankers seem to take this pretty seriously... some things for consideration -there is no set value on paper money, it is based on floating exchange rates -the us dollar is worth 4 cents of what it was in the 30's after the bretton woods trade agreement -we are now off the bretton woods trade agreement and currency is no longer backed in silver or gold bullion, the only real testament of value -the us founded OPEC, which controls 70% of the earths oil. it standardized oil production as a commodity. it funtions like a cartel, they agree on a set price per barrel, in USD's of crude oil. this then means that non oil producing countries LIKE CHINA need to sell goods and services in USD's to get oil. -OPEC creates an artificial demand for US currency, thus keeping it afloat. -these bankers have held the reigns for quite some time now and dont want to speculate but.... on June 4 1963 John F. Kennedy issued Executive Order 11110. This granted the government BACK the right to print and coin there OWN money backed by silver bullion. Within 5 months 4.2 billion was released. This meant that the government issued there own money, without having to pay interest. wow doesnt that make sense? but wait that wouldn't take control away from the Fed if enough money was issued? precisely the point. 5 months later JFK was assasinated, you could say thats a coincidence but........since then the US has not issued and silver backed currency. IF THEY HAD CONTINUED CIRCULATING SILVER BACKED MONEY THERE WOULD NOT BE A 9.8 TRILLION! DOLLAR DEBT. because you see, debt is a noose and it appears we've walked right into it. ofcourse thats just the way i picture that, seems to make sense... - and if that wasnt bad enough, they control our entire agenda. we think we fight wars to protect ourselvs, to free children, but the truth is we wouldnt be there unless someone was trying to steal from us, or we're trying to steal from them. take a look at iraq. suddam hussein was supported and backed by american initially. they fully supported him aslong as he traded within OPEC. 6 months before the invasion of iraq, suddam hussein began selling oil in euros. this would of greatly hindered the USD, decreasing its value, and would of most likely caused many other countries to follow suit because the USD isnt backed, its loaded with debt. - and last but not least there are approx. 500 billion USD in circulation + their total debt is exceeding 40 trillion USD = money whos value is in the deficits?? how can this become the most powerful currency? military backing. Pax Americana and the Project for the New American Century spell out what they intend to do, and what they have been doing. The us dollar is backed by its military. they have over 500 bases. military dominance is their answer. any threat to their economy they neutralize with their army... -and just a little preminition hear, seems pretty obvious to me... china has 1 trillion worth of reserves, 70% of which happen to be in US cash or treasury loans. we already know the us dollar is virtually worthless, and china has already seemed to be picking up on that. and we also know that china wont be too happy when the USD collapses(inevitable) and besides that we also know that if the US cant even pay off its own multi trillion dollar debt, how can they pay that 700 billion? that sets things rollin for ww3. do ne of u remember china 30 years ago, and if someone said in 2005 they would surpass the united states GDP you couldnt even imagine it. and back then if nothing had changed, it wouldnt have. the key difference is OIL. oil is what any country needs to become a 1st world nation(atleast a 2nd). Prior to the the rise of the iotallah(spelt wrong?) in iran, there was a dictator incharge. A US installed dictator, which ofcourse during the cold war, could only trade oil with capitalists. however this dictator was overthrown and once in power began trading oil to china. it all began. without iran china would still probally be the sleeping giant it was in the 70's. and now there is a Russo-Irani-Chinese pact. now the us knows this, so logically what does it make sense to take out first, the power of the machine, or the machine itself. and thats what the us is doing. iraq, afghanistan, and more and more you hear of iran. very few know the real implications of attacking iran...
  10. I chose the bankers as the threat with the most catalyzing outcomes. Bankers (and people with lots of money) have controlled the issuance of ALL money in Central Bank countries. Our governments of the world no longer print and coin money. Here in Canada it is the Bank of Canada. In the US it's the federal reserve. They lend the govt's money, with compounding interest, then make us, THE PEOPLE pay off this debt. "Well hey wait a minute i dont pay any tax of that sort, my income taxes help my country". However your income taxes go to pay off this interest, not pay for your education, healthcare, roadcare, etc. Property taxes go to education and healthcare, gasoline taxes go towards the maintenance of roads, etc. If you find this hard to believe, consider when we 1st started paying income taxes, if im not mistaken it was 1934, the same year the Central Bank of Canada was introduced. The power to tax, is the power to destroy. The select few, who issue this money have absolute control over the populatio, because WE THINK our paper fiat money has value. It only has value if you accept it. Our dollars are no longer backed by the true testamanents of value: gold bullion, silver bullion, and oil. The government will no longer convert our paper money, into gold. This means it has absolutely no value. To them its a big game, but to us it could be then end of life as we know it. They want to own everything...
