  1. Don't treat poll results as firm numbers. Do an average over the last few polls. If a poll comes out and says 50% than the next day another one says 60%. It doesn't mean opinion has changed by the whole 10% in a day. It just means both (or just one) poll is on the opposites site of the error margin. We'll need to see the next few polls before we can make *anything* of these results.
  2. Well two for Dion: "Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion insisted yesterday that he will not stoop to negative attacks against Prime Minister Stephen Harper" (G&M) and a week or two later and he is running attack ads. Dion insisting that he can meet the Kyoto targets, after he admitted a few years ago he wouldn't. "In 2008, I will be part of Kyoto, but I will say to the world I don't think I will make it." (National Post, July 1, 2006)
  3. So who do you suggest we vote for? The Liberals have shown themselves to be bigger liars and hypocrites.
  4. Insurance and energy (where prices sky-rocketed after de-regulation) are two examples. Canada has extremely poor cellphone usage due to lack of competition. Prices are way too high. When I lived in the US for a bit, I had more choice and wasn't nickeled and dimed near as much.
  5. Is finders keepers what they are teaching in school these days? Back when I was a child, I was taught that it was wrong. I guess things have changed. I'm sure if Holland ever found some tax money being misspent (say in advertising contacts) he'd make sure the LPOC kept some of it.
  6. The boxes were labeled to be moved out of the office. Someone labeled them. If he wasn't smart enough to know how to use a map or a telephone he should've asked for help from someone. Exactly. They could belong to someone in my office, so what I'd do is look to where they were to be delivered. No need to open the box. If I couldn't work a map, I'd ask someone else to teach me. I've done this many times when people misplace stuff around in my office. Never once have I had the need to go through boxes to find out where to deliver them. The fact is, even if as you say, Holland isn't a smart person, why did he have to go through the whole entire box? Did he have to go through the entire boxes contents to find out where they were to be delivered? Your whole argue is ridiculous. Even if the markings on the box weren't enough to tell him that boxes were to be moved from the OLO to the PMO, the first page or two in the box would've. If you think it's the Conservatives fault because they left the boxes behind, just say that. But don't say that Holland didn't know they were the Conservatives. Anyone that has worked in an office building and gone through a move like this knows that argument is erroneous.
  7. Folks, the boxes were sealed, with the destination address labeled on them. There was no need to open them. Even if, you Liberals think Holland is that incredibly stupid, he still didn't need to open them. The destination address is on the box! He could've asked someone how to work a map, or called the contractors which move boxes. Seriously, this isn't rocket science. I've been moved by contractors like this before. Put your old office # on the box and your destination office on the box as well. If there is a problem someone calls the contractors and they make sure the box is delivered. There isn't really any confusion. If a box gets misplaced, the person who finds it notifies the moving company. This isn't too complex, even for an MP. I don't see how you can argue with this. The destination was on the box. Do you think he's not smart enough to look up the address 320-3? Do you not think he could've called the contractors that move boxes? Do you really think he is that stupid? I've even found laptops (in my office building) with less descriptive markings than this and got them returned without feeling the need to turn it on.
  8. They're two independent issues. If the RCMP wants to reopen the investigation against Day, they can do that. The Holland issue is separate. Holland has been exposed as a liar and thief, will he get punished for this? Unlikely. He'll most likely get rewarded by Dion with the task of pulling off much larger thefts.
  9. You've obviously never worked in an office environment. The actual moving work is contracted out. An honest person would've contacted the moving company if they had in fact made a mistake. Obviously Holland isn't an honest person.
  10. Oh, well as long as you believe that Holland must have known what 320-3 meant, I can rest assured. I mean, who doesn't know what 320-3 means? Duh. ? Did you even read my post. Read it again. You can be sure he knew those boxes were leaving the OLO. What party was moving out of the OLO?
  11. Ummm. You can be assured Holland knew the boxes were the Conservatives. The boxes were marked as leaving 145 Well and moving to 320-3. 145 Well is the OLO (Opposition Leader's Office). Who was in the OLO before the Liberals moved in?
  12. And it seems like Stock is working hard to ensure there are no convictions in the Conservative party. That is just SO out to lunch I don't know why you keep writing it. Well, I may have an idea about why... Anyway, there are not serious indications of any wrongdoing on Holland's part. But the fax he revealed does tell us pretty clearly that someone did something that looks like it runs against the political corruption laws in engineering the resignation of MP Hart. Day should step aside until the RCMP get a good look at the situation at least. Why do Liberal supporters have nothing against theft? Theft seems to be a party motto. The sooner the Liberals rid themselves of liars and thieves the sooner they can start to regain the electorate's trust.
  13. 1. Do you mean Liberals? 2. I'm sure the Liberals would agree with you about Hart. I ment Holland not Hart
  14. Yeah but the Liberals/NDP are allowed to keep their "war rooms" though right? The Conservatives have no right to have one as well.
  15. Wow. Another Dion flip flop. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...PStory/National This guy has flopped on almost everything he's stood for at one time or another. The Liberals need a new leader and fast. Who would vote for this clown?
  16. Is Hart STILL trying to brazen this out? C'mon, the guy practically admitted stealing the documents. The liberals should admit that Hart can't stay.
  17. True but more people will also see that Dion isn't much of an alternative. There isn't really any party that most people can safely vote for other than the Conservatives in the next election.
  18. A better analogy would be you see someone drop *their* wallet. Would you open it up first before giving it back (or in Hollands case not give it back at all)?
  19. Sure the issue needs to be dealt with. However, the Liberal wanna-be Rat Packer Mark Holland lying about how he obtained the document ranks up there with the Gurmant Grewal fiasco. I guess we can call this Stephane's gang that can't shoot straight. Exactly. We don't know if Stockwell is guilty or not -- but we do know Holland is and he should resign. At the very least, this situation has shown that Holland shouldn't be trusted as he is definitely not a man of integrity.
  20. More and more countries are participating in it including many states in the U.S. I don't know if it actually reduces carbon emissions. The Liberal plan was not working at all. The Conservatives didn't have one at all until recently and even now, it is hard to see what overall direction it is going in. There will be increasing international pressure on Canada to comply to the treaty though. So the only reason we should do it is because some moron politician signed a treaty? It would've been nice if the Liberals considered the country before signing on to Kyoto for the sole purpose of making themselves look good.
  21. Does any Liberal supporter here actually like the idea of Canada participating in an international carbon market? To me it sounds like the Conservatives plan to reduce the GST even though an income tax cut would've been a better choice. Except that this could end up being a few orders of magnitude more costly.
  22. A senior staffer in the PMO on tape calling her American counterparts a**holes is professional? A sitting MP from the Government caucus steps on a doll of the President of the United States on public television is professional? What do you consider to be a lack of professionalism? Exactly. While the Conservatives have done some small embarrassing things internationally. The Liberals were much much worse. Insulting/pissing off your largest trading partner over and over again is a really really bad idea.
  23. Wow. So the Liberals support international emission carbon trading now as well? What a disaster it would be if they ever get elected.
  24. So.. If we shouldn't vote for Harper who else can we vote for? NDP? Nope. Way way to left Green? Nope. Even more left than the NDP Liberal? With Dion? Nope. Guy is way too out of touch. See http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=8395 Looks like it's Harper until the Liberals get a new leader.
  25. I don't get what people have against Harper appointing someone as a Senator on a temporary basis. Senate reform takes time. Why not use the seat until then? Seems logical to me, but who cares about logic when we can bash Harper
