  1. Actually, no. Liberals and Conservatives may not see eye to eye on every single domestic issue, but by no means does that mean Liberals are "soft" on crime. However, the smear-campaign style adopted by Stephen Harper could have very well been written by Carl Rove himself. From Bush's attacks on Ann Rice about "teaching kids about homosexuality" and being "soft" on crime which won him his Governorship, to the overtly unsubstantiated attacks against John Kerry during the 2004 election campaign about Kerry's inability to lead the war on "terror"..... both Harper and Bush are demagogues who use fear instead of their own platforms to win elections. No one in this country uses fear to win elections as much as the left. Remember the ads from last election with soldiers in the street? Or the famous hidden agenda myth? Martin's *entire* campaign last election was on how "scary" Harper is.
  2. Wrong. Why can't the loony left figure this out? Harper doesn't just want a majority. He wants back to back Conservative majorities. He wants the Conservatives to become the dominate political party in Canada. If Harper does get a majority, he will be just as concerned with getting a majority in the following election as he is concerned with acquiring one now. You can rest easy, when/if he achieves his goals
  3. What the #@#$@? Did you see this in a Liberal campaign advertisement?
  4. If we seriously wanted to meet the targets, we should have started many years ago. There is too little time left to meet them. Of course Dion is being dishonest for political gain. He has to go. Off topic question: What is the earliest the Liberals could replace Dion? He has proved to be a horrible leader.
  5. Harper's promises are still a lot better than the Liberal's promises. When he makes promises he at least intends to keep them. Remember the Liberal's "scrap the GST" plan? They had no plan to do that. Or meet Kyoto targets, they know full well they can't be met. Most of the quotes from Harper were not believing in Kyoto. He's as correct now as he ever was Umm. Haven't heard anything about this, but not reporting who donated the money pisses me off a lot less than stealing it from the tax payers. Majority of Canadians? Don't think so! I'm tired off wasting my tax dollars on this socialist crap. Having a robust military is important. It lets us be a stabilizing force and also gives us the ability to aid Canadians in need.
  6. Can people please stop saying this ignorant trash? The Conservatives got ~36% of the popular vote last election [1]. Chretien won majorities with only ~38% of the popular vote [2]. That's only a 2% difference! He has as much of a mandate as Chretien ever did. 7. I liked the ads -- straight forward and truthful. If only the Liberals behaved the same way
  8. You're not too bright are you? Why don't you read his post. LOL
