  1. remember those speed boats. and hover crafts they are essentially mobile missle platforms. and helicopters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEuprQgTl2g&feature=related and land based 3 years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJx0W3Vk0JU
  2. It seems municpalities can enact gun registries.. http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Fredericton+registry+even+covers+Nerf+toys/6065613/story.html and provinces. This just seems to be a "no need to hide your guns in the west and waste billions of dollars that provinces and municipalies in Ontario Quebec and the Maritimes will end up paying all over again. Such an arse to be deleting the records. Now gunowners can be hit with provincial and municipal fees.. rather than just the federal registery GTA has upwards of 287000 “nonrestricted” weapons on file.. that is half a million dollars atleast...for the city at $2 a pop. Also this is just the long gun registry Data on restricted and prohibited weapons will be retained by the government.
  3. Really suprised china is gifting so much to the AU, when it is running a debt.. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/african-union-embraces-generous-chinese-financing/article2318897/?utm_medium=Feeds%3A%20RSS%2FAtom&utm_source=World&utm_content=2318897
  4. "traffic lane is six miles (10 km) wide, including two two-mile (3 km)-wide traffic lanes, one inbound and one outbound, separated by a two-mile (3 km) wide separation median." Emirites built palmtree shaped islands surely iran can build a dike. 85% of the exports that pass through the straight go to asian countries. I'm sure one sunk tanker would be an econologicalcatastrophy for the whole area. figuring that is a million barrels of oil.(it would meet or exceed deep water horizon spill) heck the us wants to blow up a whole mountain, can't betoo hard to put it in the water. "On 18 April 1988, the U.S. Navy waged a one-day battle against Iranian forces in and around the strait, launched in retaliation for the 14 April mining of the USS Samuel B. Roberts (FFG-58) by Iran. U.S. forces sank one frigate, one gunboat, and as many as six armed speedboats in the engagement and seriously damaged a second frigate." "3 July 1988, 290 people were killed when an Iran Air Airbus A300 passenger jet was shot down over the strait by the United States Navy guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes " "11 August 2008, more than 40 U.S. and allied ships reportedly were en route to the Strait of Hormuz. One U.S. carrier battle group from Japan would complement two more, which are already in the Persian Gulf, for a total of five battle groups, not counting submarines" what happened to those boats? "20 March 2009, United States Navy Los Angeles-class submarine USS Hartford (SSN-768) collided with the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans (LPD-18) in the strait. The collision, which slightly injured 15 sailors aboard the Hartford, ruptured a fuel tank aboard the New Orleans, spilling 25,000 US gallons (95 m3) of marine diesel fuel" who did the cleanup? Also what about the current flotilla that is assembled off the coast of Iran? "return to the presence of two U.S. aircraft carriers off the coast of Iran." and what of #3... 3 aircraft carriers off your coast.. isn't that enough to clog the straight right htere.. http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012/01/iran-aircraft-carriers/ (note the article is dated. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/where.htm note the groupings George Washington Strike Group GWSTRKGRU / GWCSG John C. 5. Where are the non christian countries in that list? also the vatacan isn't a country it is a state.
  6. So, there is all this talk about the closure of the st. of hormuz so what would happen if this were the case? Would it be war? with nato? even if no ships were attacked, and the us threw the first blow? how do you see the situation evolving?
  7. that would only demonstrate the issue. pointing a gun at someones head doesn't make its yours. Hopefully you will understand there are no borders other than between enlightenment and failure. rule isn't by force it is by reason. there is no culture that grants reason it is recognition of the reasons for culture that is enlightenment.
  8. who says anything about how they think. You are bieing culturally ignorant. One persons right is not anothers. Its like people punishing their children.. not acceptable in inuit societies etc.. it all depends where you come from. intantacide is not too far in the distant past of many societies. women were owned in many societies. it wasn't until this past 100 years that women started regaining rights. who is to say right and wrong. it is common sense on some matters but those who are not enlightened, and americans arn't can't claim superior culture.
  9. All I can say is that its good they are holding back a couple months on this, no one likes the cold especially 50 and some 60 year olds. the russian defence won't be available to stem off public outrage. but meh, hopefully its good and not just you're poor deal with it. although it really IS a provincial issue. and provincial welfare will just suplate the OAS if they are broke I think it is $460 or something here in Ontario, not afar cry from oas. only it is workfare *unless you got a medical condition` provinces should love that first a billion more for the pot laws now 2 more years of supporting seniors on the plates of municpal welfare providers. but with pensions drawn, I`m guesing it willbe almost negligible and they will be forced to a slave labour or a maximum of $460 per month.
  10. murderes happen all the time, its not like white hicks don't kill no one for cheaten on them neva too. suddenly you put a turban on it and give it a fancy name like it came from the marines corp slogan and it becomes evil rather than misguided and wrong.
  11. Nope but a Romanian subsidary likely does. Its their law... fack an american company wants to tear up a giant strip mine to the north of where we live to extract billions of dollars of chromite, there are gold mines all around where I live, and I live next to an old uranium mine, fact is that this stuff happens in Canada too, but no they don't have the right.. they have the capacity. its their government. Do you think America or Canada doesn't have these same facilities on our doorsteps..they do. It is a global standard of negligence.
  12. So we know how militant the Americans are invading ever god knows inch of land that exists on this planet, can they really be trusted with nuclear technology even if it is just for producing energy? What if they make a bomb with it? What if they use that bomb against another country? Surely we must consider military options to insure that nuclear weapons arn't made and used against other humans.
  13. It is funny how as soon as the backdrop from the mass media occurs no one cares the government that replaced gaddaffi is just a tortureous and contrary to human rights as the one before it... so the murder and carnage didn't stop with NATOs bombs http://ca.news.yahoo.com/libyan-commander-says-retake-bani-walid-081705385.html where is the democracy, humanrights and good conditions... where are the elections... just more military dictatorship?
  14. Doing a 2 year inrease out of no where is just foul. I proposed a graduated system where every year the age is increased by something like 3 months Over the next 16 years it would equate to a 4 year inrease. I also proposed that OAS be funded from a senior tax where the highest proportion comes from family members closest to the senior for individuals earning over the $30,000 "comfort" threshhold after hardship considerations. payment would cycle out by nearest family. Everyone who is directly related 1 link away pays 1 cent then everyone 2 links pays 1 cent (and it goes back to link 1 with 1 cent) then 1 2 and 3 removed 1 cent then 1234 then 12345 then 123456 and so on until the person has an above poverty line income provision. While wealthy people who die have an inheritence tax go right into the system if their next of kin are not in hardship equivolent to any outstanding debt (paid to the public debt they did not pay in life based on how much per capita debt they aquired over their life) - and a few other things. People shoulnd't be passing on their loot to their kids if they havn't paid their fair share in life. An across the board system downpayment at whatever the corporate rate is (I also would decrease the corporate income tax rate by 1% per year and eliminate personal income taxes) but this inheritence tax (equivolent to the wealth transfer tax would be set at the corporate rate for that year. So it would eventually be eliminated. But anyone moving money out of the country would be hit with the surchage for wealth transfer or asset value transfer equal to the corporate rate aside from a small personal exemption of $10,000/year. Individual estates would be potentially exempt if direct family members were living below the poverty line (after hardship considerations) and the funds would be put in trust for "poverty releif of direct family members for life) -but applied against the debt for non resolved bond payouts and investments with a proven and high probably rate of return. (bear in mind "asset valuation on exhange would be nontaxed so people could still buy, but they had to have assets incoming of an equal value set by the government on "general goods value on Demand value (domestic valuation) While the death tax would be phased out with the corporate income tax, the "senior tax" would exist along side the inreasing retuirement age of 1/4 of a year per year increase - and this set as the goal of "life expenctancy increase. It is expected that biomedical science will provide dramatically increased life expectancies over the next decade to 2 decades. Bear in mind the poverty works and seniors works programs would also be created - the scheme would still provide above poverty line income with people expected to work 40 hours until 45, then have their work output "suplimented with one free hour per week for every year after 45. So at 65 they would only be expected to work for 20 hours per week with 20 "free hours" until 85 40 years from now (if it isn't completely redundant) with a gaurenteed basic above poverty line pension. Individuals would be "transfered to "volunteer activities" They could also opt to work more hours and still receive the bonus. It works out to about $1666/year starting at 45 with it being. So year 1 everyone 45+ gets a $1666 to apply to retirement savings and long term investments year 2 everyone 45 gets $1666 to apply to retirement everyone 46+ gets $3333 to apply to retirement investments or long RRSP's year 3 everyone 45 $1666 46 $3333 47 $5000 and so on. The investments must be in second bank approved investment funds they administer. Anyone who falls under the poverty line could tap the savings. The funds would also have an interest rate equal to the inflation rate. there is a little more to it but that is the basic function. If the poverty tax meanwhile funds the "payouts" and anyone under the poverty line who is younger.. to tap the funds though you must be part of the federal works program. Everyone is "taxed from the top down to fund the poverty tax" if they make over the $30,000 comfort survival income after hardship considerations. Everyone pays 0.01% on every dollar over $30,000 until it is paid but it increases. So everyone making $30,100 would pay 1 cent. everyone making $30,200 would pay 2 cents and so on. So for every $10000 you would pay $1 If it went to the highest earner it goes back to the bottom of everyone at 30,100 and so on until the amount is aquired in the poverty tax. This tax would also remove a lot of stress potential from the provinces who would no longer need to pay social insurance costs to those part of the federal works program. This fund would also pay for peoples retirements. thus further reducing future familial burdens. and most of all it would eliminate poverty of the willing workers and seniors. It would also hopefully reduce healthcare costs by reducing workstresses and provide a regrowth of family values by giving people more family time. Such as grandparents time with their grandkids and middle aged parents times with their teens those most formative years of social responsibility and restraint.
  15. At this rate they may actually learn to be responsible before their election term ends. First move might be increasing lowering their expenses more by removing ministerial salaries until the deficit is removed and the debt is paid down. Second they could remit their own salaries to a $30,000 threshold and live like the rest of the middle class majority instead of strealing money from the pockets of Canadians for doing nothing but tub thumping. It IS UNACCEPTABLE for the government to be running a deficit period. It is unacceptable for them to be putting income taxes to anything but debt repayment as it was started for in WWI it is embezzlement and misappropriation for partisan gain! LIARS AND CHEATS. If they can't create revenue without theft and extortion they shouldn't be in government.
  16. Yeah I live like a km from an old uranium mine no one knows about. It actually is very close to the forward operating base of the old dewline at Armstrong area. and a few other shipment points for Dew Supplies, I'm not too far from one of the southern stations. The sites were closed long ago.. there is of course a history to these areas, you can't find ANY info on them online though, you really need to delve to figure anything out. Luckily if the story is true I was with one of the CO's one day while I was inquring about it.. but this is all hearsay. None the less the US transports nukes over the us all the time I don't see why americans are complaining about it. I would think the natives would be happy to see this leave home.
  17. This have anything to do with the Bruce Nuclear plant beingshiped over lake Huron? http://www.canada.com/technology/Controversial+nuclear+shipping+plan+remains+hold/5889128/story.html secret. come on man how obvious can you be?
  18. It is not in any Middle East nations interest to use a nuclear weapon the area is too small and fallout would damage them it is only advisable if they already face annihilation as a deterent. Mutual annihilation is honourable. It is also important to note nuclear weapons are an alternative to high attrition war or high casualty war. More people died as a result of the invasion of iraq than the only two nuclear bombs ever used against humans. There is no reason to think this won't be the case of an invasion of iran. To be honest likely more humans would die than the result of the invasion of iran than the destruction of israel. Niether of those scenarios should be expected though. Hate is not resolved by offence.
  19. assasination is illegal plain and simple. except under certain contexts, BUT.. those scientists don't fit the grounds they are innocent people assasinating the person making the threat is maybe ok if it is plausable they could actually carry it out but otherwise it is nonsense. There is so much war mongering on the part of NATO it is not that these countries constitute a threat it is that they don't want them to constitute a threat, and it costs way more money to defend against a successful nation than a non successful nation. Its not worth it, I ran could destroy israel if it wanted whether it does that with Nukes or Conventionalweapons has the same result regardless.
  20. Think about the America within our reach,” he said. “A country that leads the world in educating its people. An America that attracts a new generation of high-tech manufacturing and high-paying jobs. A future where we’re in control of our own energy, and our security and prosperity aren’t so tied to unstable parts of the world.” By god he is going to invade Canada.
  21. Does this mean US boeing is going to buy out Canadian companies and patents, so Canada is paying for Boeing to take over our space industry? While the deal sounds relatively good (figuring it works out to around 8 years of leasing) - sadly though Canada isn't buying satalites it is leasing from the US.. are there no Canadian satalite companies 25 million a year works out to 15 years of leasing, with 5 years additional for free from taxes or 20 years of leasing for the cost of this program. Likewise Canada could buy stock in public companies that are satalite tech IP and manufacturing related and do exactly what boeing is going to do.. that is buy out Canadian companies. I think that this is a conflicted situation. the DnD should concentrate on working with the Canadian Space industry and developing the Canadian space industry DIRECTLY not paying the US to let them take their pick of our patents and industry. BOO. This is clear embezzlement of public funds for no bonus. They are selling out Canadian interests to the US with the deal. --- If the US ain't willing to send communications to our troops fighting wars over seas for free we shouldn't be fighting their war in the first place.
  22. They were unionized and on contract employment terms. You can't just as management lay people off if you have a legal agreement not to. Both Harper and Rae crossed the line by interfering in labour issues... it is an issue of long term economic and adminsitrative mismanagement it is not indicative of either Rae or Harper soley. They should have signed temp employment contracts rather than bloating the civil service beyond its needs, they should have signed new employment contracts with nurses and teachers for new hires, and should not have required a bill to accomplish what they have. That is the real issue. It is unfortunate that political and administrative and economic necesities have not coincided. But the bottom line is we are all still alive. I just don't think breaching contracts and enforcing labour is really all too fair in our society.
  23. The fact he is Irish sould be more concerning, you know who the last Irish French PM was.... way bigger than being Dion French. Just close your eyes and bring yourself back 1 now 2 now 3 decades... hours later.. its ok you can stop screaming and crying now, the liberals are here. http://archives.cbc.ca/politics/prime_ministers/topics/1469/
