  1. There is no massive voluntary return to Iraq.
  2. just dealt with that - it simply is a mistaken view. Al Sharpton has never made any division among people using offensive language Yeah, some of his best friends are Jews..... some of your best friends are ... ????
  3. when a 500 year old tree is cut, it will not truly be replaced for anothe 500 years anybody who thinks a stand of Doug Firs is a forest, is a moron
  4. he already had his debut as a bar top stripper --- I don't think he made any tips, though
  5. buckpassing seems to be their favorite game - cheerleaders aren't involved in the real competition - just ask Shrub
  6. He's dead....and famous , but so what? Copycats I suspect dont become copycats for pictures. I am also against censorship . why do they become copycats? if not for pictures?
  7. Link well the made a movie about a Little Ceasar and Rico was a loser then there was --- The Execution of Private Slovik, he wasn't so very highly decorated but the movie was more popular than Dugout Doug's
  8. Great generals don't need people following them around making excuses. and Dugout Doug was not great - even if you think he was. Of course, you are welcome to your own opinion. History, however, is not with you on this one. and insulting Koreans is not much use either
  9. and he turned machine guns on American veterans who marched for promised benefits in DC and he had a Sgt on his staff who beat up hats for him to wear so they would look like they'd been in combat and he abandoned his own troops in the Phillipines - and this was after failing to mobilize a dozen hours after being warned of an imminent attack and he has been called the American Coriolanus - a mama's boy,"following maternal orders to be mercilessly ambitious." -http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-59021333.html and after his wife left him he hosted kinky sex parties with prostitutes in his Wash DC apt and after WWII he helped cover up Japanese atrocities and sought to have the perpetrators continue their work on germ warfare: Link and he addressed himself in third person as if he were an emperor (or a psychotic)
  10. Ah, but they should be buying more! More pencils bought means more money, right? So instead of buying a billion pencils, they should buy a trillion and that will make them richer? And if that makes them richer they will have more money and should buy 10 trillion pencils, or 100 trillion. And that will make them even more money that they will be able to buy a quadrillion pencils... Unfortunately, that's not how economics works. Yes, even the Dr Seuss characters the, 'Oncelers,' learned a harsh lesson about that and now know better -- ah, if only Dr Seuss had written a book to wisen up right wingers
  11. and before anyone starts, nobody should be fired for reporting the death of famous Hawaiian crooner - Don HO
  12. sunsettommy is not a climate scientist yes, lobos motl is a far better mathemetician and a better string threorist than I will ever be but no, he is not a climatologist and the rebuttal I c&p'd did rebut him, not just a little but entirely - and just because some folks choose to ignore the facts and the real science, has no reflection on the reality of GW and the necessity to deal with it and no, making your screed long and nasty doesn't earn you any points, sst
  13. McArthur wanted to nuke Beijing - Truman had a lingering memory of the photos of Hiroshima - Truman always felt justified in nuking Japan - but what he knew about the bomb before it was dropped and what he knew about it after was the difference of an entire universe and he was profoundly changed by the knowledge that mankind truly had now achieved the technology to blow itself to hell McArthur was a dimwit cowboy such as currrently resides in the oval office.
  14. Are you suggesting Koreans would be better off if the north had won? The US suffered nearly 170,000 casualties to see that they didn't. do you see what the article is about? it is about US Korean war policy, that saw the US gunning down civilians.Intentionally. run with that, ok? Korean war policy was to defend the south from invasion. Nearly 170,000 Americans were killed and wounded doing that. Run with that OK. actually, there was some controversy over America's war policy in Korea --- there was finally a showdown of the bigshots in the middle of the Pacific -- remember who duked it out on that one?
  15. Since Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11...perhaps you could explain how Iraq was a threat without brining up 9/11? Iraq has become a threat now but only in that it is turning into a great practical training ground for terrorists. The threat from Iraq will begin to dissipate as soon as American troops pull out. That is, to say, the Buschistas have this issue exactly backwards. Of course, for them it is a status quo position, 'backwards.'
  16. Umm...shall we look at this again then? You said "Al Sharpton has never made any division among people using offensive language" Well with Imus's comments one could say that most of the stuff that is under controversy is largely opinionated. I mean a court system could not find him guilty of degrading "black women". This is simply because it is an over the top, overly exaggerated comment that cannot be taken seriously. The pressure to apologise (which he did) and the public way he did it qualifies his admitting some sort of wrong. The truth is I am not convinced that those of the "hood" or those associated with the black culture will stop calling the women hos based on Imus's punishment. ok - that would be a good separate thread
  17. Is is math or demographics of which you're woefully ignorant? Or both, I suppose. his worst effort IMO is when tries to sprinkle big words into his spew but he doesn't really know what a given word means - though he's stifled himself quite a lot lately, I'm sure he'll put have a Barney Fife moment sooner or later
  18. I don't know about other guys but I take my, "extendable spear," with me, everywhere I go. but I don't think anybody in a suburban setting needs to carry a weapon
  19. except these guys are not climatologists nor have their lightweight speculations ever been considered serious studies Link don't get me wrong, as a string theorist, I like Motl fine, but he should stick to his field and only enter into debates he has actually researched
  20. Yes, the debunking of those guys was proven --- they never followed any of the rules for scientific research - as far as the EPA - they hate worse than anybody to have to admit it but there it is and they don't say, 'this is what's probably true,' nor, 'here's what a lot of scientists now think,' they say "What's Known" --
  21. On this case I cannot argue the point. I have no idea who John Lott or Scott Macpherson is. I do not knowing ly use fraud type sites, and to add I generally dont use Wiki as it too is known for having some bogus material in it. It is on topic as it was being discussed that if we got rid of guns then shootings like this wont happen. if you google John Lott you will see one of his antics -- as a lecturer he had an acct at his college computer lab - there one campus forum held discussions on his work, he logged on with a woman's name and talked about what a wonderful guy he was and what professionalism he used in his studies ... - he did finally get caught and had egg on his face for some time after then there is the serious stuff, like a citation he made to a study which never occurred - first he cited it as an LA Times poll, then somebody else and finally he claimed to have conducted the phone poll himself but lost the records --- NO, I am not making this up - it is all findable through google
