Will the Collapse of Greece affect Canada?
madmax replied to Rocky Road's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada economy with the coming of Europeans was Crown Corporations.. capital was not portable as it was directed by the King/Queen in their interests. Most goods were resource based and little to no capital investment directed to Canada. Processing was done offshore. By the time Canada formed a country, Conservative John A Macdonald didn't see the Market, or Capitalism as the solution. It took Direct Government intervention and the NATIONAL POLICY to put into place an economy that was not resource exports. He then put into place high tariffs of which it became of greater interest for companies to invest in Canada.. then ship the goods. Regardless of history and the transistions of the past 130years... I LAUGH at the Thread title as Greeces Entire Economy is rather small potatoes and its relation to Canada is nearly insignificant. But the US economy, and its inbedded corporate corruption has a HUGE impact on the Canadian Economy, as it does the US economy. And locally, we don't prosecute corporate criminals like in the US. thank you for taking care of Conrad Black for us... -
Protests, police provocateurs, masks, etc
madmax replied to jacee's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Funny you mention mask and rock. I just watched a video where 3 Police Officers are trying to stir up the pot. They are wearing masks and carrying rocks, but are "Undercover". They are the only ones seen with rocks and are trying to provoke a police line.... A Person intervenes, tells them to take off and stop trying to create a scene during a peaceful protest... then after much dialogue... the person realizes they are cops.... and tries to pull off their masks...and starts calling them cops.. Just feet away from the police line with rocks in hand, still being told to put down the rocks... they continue to try to assault the police line.. not a single officer breaks ranks... as soon as the undercovers realize the jig is up... all three casually walk through the police line.... And that was it.. not riot, no incident... But imagine if they had succeeded... IF you call that success??? -

You may not like what Signals Cpl is saying but I don't see a violation of forum rules. Its one thing to ignore points of an argument and repeat your bias its another thing to just toss out insults. Putting someone on ignore who disagrees with you is wrongheaded. Others read these posts and form opinions based on them besides just showing up at the tea party with a position. I suggest you continue the discussion, as everyone will benefit. The weakness of Signals cpl position is very apparent. This is a law for laws sake. I don't believe its a crime to show up at a protest with a Harper mask. I also think its ironic that the those supporting this law don't realize that protests occur daily at on all sides of the political spectrum and the "rights base" often are hard core protestors. So, what this law potential could be is one towards Tyrrany. I also don't believe in the apoligist for police vandalism and incitement of a riot, in order to weed out bad apples. If not riot is happening, why incite one? Also I think its obvious that when one has 90 offending officers vs a few dozen trouble makers violating the law at a peaceful protest then there is a serious doublestandard in this legislation. Obviously the people thinking of this are ashamed and embarrassed by the last G20 where Hundreds of Millions (or was it some 20Billion) wasted in 3 short days. Tony Clements Boder Security Gazebo, the Fake Lake... and of course.... When a Security Firms entire detail was swept up during the 2nd day of policing.... as the police choose NOT to respond to actual criminal activity on day one... you can see that this bill is mainly aimed at changing the subject from poor professional police work and ethics to one of Halloween Masks..... We have laws to deal with the trouble makers..now, just as we have laws to deal with police who remove their badges. Seems Sigs is happy if those police just keep on their badges...and all will be well. Thats because we don't need a 2nd law to restate the same activity. Same goes for protests... This is more of a government in hiding because of its massive waste during the G20 and is not about protecting the public from criminal activity or government waste.

LOL Of course , cause when Meirs was making those comments, Andrew Prescott (Whom he knew through a long business association) had not yet been identified as Pierre Poutine...who is the person that Meirs states is Pierre Jones. I find it of great interest that Pierre Jones (Prescott) could call Meirs on his private line and Meirs not realize its Prescott. So... yes you are correct its not necessarily so.. However, as things roll ahead... If I get more substative proof that the Federal Campaigns emails show information on how to have other parties pay for the "EC" robocalls ... then things are going to bust open.... I have seen some early stuff but I am not biting...

90 is not insignificant considering that 900 citizens were arbitrarily arrested out of 10s of thousands of citizens vs 90 of a couple thousand police officers. And of those 900 many were innocent victims, others were charged with silly infractions and a few dozen actually violated and partook in violent criminal activity. that said Officers are to uphold the law and are viewed by the publics eyes€ higher level of scrutiny and respect for the law, and their jobs. So the numbers of Police diregarding the law is both significant and disturbingly high. Add to this their use of impersonation and covert operations to incite is a practice that should not be condoned. We need to trust our police force not look for or create the next Stasi

madmax replied to madmax's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
She was too weak against the HST when her hubby was pushing for it.... I think that conflict had alot to do with her not being taken seriously enough. That said,, I think Flaherty tried Twice and her once... so thats 3 strikes from one family, but perhaps the game is American Football and 4 downs... -

Its an absurd comment to think Tim would lose his seat... he may lose the leadership of the PCs.. he may lose another election.... but it suggesting he is going to lose his seat based on his current underperforming track record is a stretch... -
Pierre Jones, aka Pierre Poutine, aka Andrew Prescott... spoke directly to Matt Meir on his private phone line. When asked how Pierre Jones received that number... Jones stated he was given it by the Conservative Central Campaign. That is Miers story.

Billing records don't cast doubt...the actually show the account holder, which is not released to the public in the court order. The headlines cast doubt.... http://blogs.ottawacitizen.com/2012/05/11/roboconfusion/

Good Grief... Ford is so full of it, video evidence makes him look like a fool. Just as it was dark when he called 911 to protect his familiy against warrior princess... I personally think he looks/acts drunk or drugged in the daytime.

Government Waste Taxpayers monies and this one is no different. There are paid salaried Lawyers to do this work. The government has already blown monies just opening the file with the private firm... A Salaried Lawyer can get this tossed out just as easily as a costly external firm.

One person is your getting your goat, the other is simply right wing radical.

yup I remember... And if the speculation is correct, that information cannot be deleted with an administrators aid. If that occurred, even without finding the original deleted log, it is not going to be a good time for the Sys Admin...

You expressed that Capricorn was covering up and in deniel of election fraud. Do not twist words. It reduces your credibility. Capricorn does not have to take your position at facevalue.... infact, if you read through this entire thread, you would see that by NOT jumping to conclusions capricorns reserved approach has proven correct. Regardless, it does NOT look good for the Conservatives and some of them are going to go down.. IMHO.

Erm, it was personal... And Capricorn was covering nothing up... just pushing you towards a specific answer to a specific question. That is not covering up.
