  1. Did you come up with a name?
  2. Ontario would have had a better case for separating.... like the first 137 years, when it was a have Province supporting all the other havenot Provinces. Ontario gave alot and now, in retrospect, there doesn't appear to be alot of goodwill. Just continued petty attacks. However, with Ontario in a two year major decline and about to have a meltdown, one which I don't believe it will recover from in the next 3 years, especially under the current government policy, Ontario may as well separate, and then sink into a bottomless pit. The current Conservative government hasnt been anymore anti Ontario, then the Liberal Ontario government. They like any other government just took it for granted, paid no attention, and haven't been able to give a shit, until it is going to be far too late. Yes, a wasteland in the middle of Canada.... and the ROC would be happy.
  3. Well for what its worth, I have interests to a brand new ethanol plant. Lower corn prices is a good thing..., but it still looks like a money loser. At least some people will be working, and you know, If worst comes to worst, turn it into a brewery and drink our troubles away
  4. Are you suggesting this scriblett? Or is that from an article.
  5. Hes a goof. I mean typical politician.... Typical Politician erm goof.... I get those words mixed up, but they mean the same thing.... I am about to puke. There actions have yet to achieve anything. Let alone anything "Heroic". Lying, covering their own asses, blaming the other guy, and trying to hide their incompetence from the public is their #1 priority. The next is keeping their jobs, their perks, their benefits, holidays, pensions, and keeping away from an angry public, is of most importance. Giving a rats ass about Wild Bill and madmax, are the furthest thing on their mind. You and me could settle more by watching a mud wrestling match and bet on the best T-Shirt to set policy. I mean if I am going to watch pigs at the trough, slopping around in the mud, I want them to look as good as possible.
  6. Yeah, and you missed my Libby Davies tribute in another thread
  7. Cushy government jobs let overpaid people like you sleep on the job. The Conservative government has been ruling since 2006. The economy is the same economy they were sheperding before, during and after the election and the finance minister is the same. If you can't do your job, which is to govern and to set budgets then get out. You make excuses. No excuses just results. You government people are a bunch of babies.
  8. Except that its not just manufacturing that is melting down in Ontario. Virtually every sector is in trouble, finance is a disaster, and retail ..... well I expect many chain stores to close up sometime by Feb/Mar of next year, many have already announced they are closing. Manufacturing is 16% of the economy, but provides Millions of jobs and has lost nearly 400,000 since harper took the reigns. Agriculture doesn't employ alot of people anymore, nor for any length of time. Food Processing is being reduced in Ontario... so even more jobs are lost. And as you are well aware, there are bigger farms and a Hell of a lot less farmers and that is never going change. And factory farms are a different beast. Therefore, you still require a large capital outlay to get into farming and the returns are not always something to write home about. Farming is part time affair, and most farmers are now in their high 50s and their sons, if they take it over, usually rely on a Toyota/Cami/Ford/GM or tier 1,2,3 job to supplement their income. I would even hazard a guess, that you neither employ alot of people nor farm without another income.
  9. It doesn't make the Harper government look good. And the only thing I can be certain of, as I described late last Monday, is that Stephen Harper received an early christmas gift when the Liberals choose Dion to head the coalition. Up to that point, the coalition had the Conservatives on their heels and scared shitless. The coalition looked like they had their shit together with a platform, policy announcements and strategic goals. The provided an economic front of leaders ..... Martin, McKenna, Romanov and Manley, who headed the most fiscally responsible governments Federal and Provincial in modern times. Compare that to Flaherty who doesn't know if he is coming or going and spends more time talking like a politician then acting as the Finance Minister. The Coalition looks bad, because they choose Dion and he is a f234830 goof. Harper took advantage of the LPC christmas gift and then extended it to all the MPs with a paid vacation, and paid travel and accomodation. The electorate is an unpredictable lot. If any party becomes good at peeling back the layers of the Finance Ministers incompetence and Harpers petty vindictive streak, while the country is being flushed down the economic toilet, then anything is possible. Currently the LPC have a Bunch of goofs as Leadership possibilities, so the free ride may continue in spite of Harper. To compare the leadership of Harper and Dion isn't like comparing Boxing during its modern day peak. Its not Joe Fraser and Muhammed Ali Its more like... Bruce Seldon vs Herbie Hide Two guys not historic or Memorable.
  10. Well, that was easy.
  11. There has been no serious plan to date of any kind put forward by the current government. Any serious or real changes, such as you described, would have been presented either 1) Last Monday, or 2) This Monday. But the Government choose to "selfishly" take an early full paid christmas/new years vacation. Harper doesn't trust his own policies or he would have put them forward. The opposition doesn't trust Harper. In the meantime, the Anti Coalition vote is closing on the coalition vote.
  12. So much for fun in the thread. Thanks cybercoma........... 1) Its a tradition of millions of Canadians. 2) Not if he closes down parliment.
  13. If I agreed with your logic, it would probably kill the thread.... hmm,.... well, just this part.... Next topic
  14. He wanted to destroy the LPC without getting any blood on his hands, and without a fight. That is how he got himself into the mess he is in. Luckily for him, he is still a bully picking on nerd who can't fight back. But the Bully doesn't look so hot. The anger on the street is going past party lines. Once again, people who woke up and paid attention to Canadian Politics, hate politicians, more today then just a week back. No this is not part of Harpers plan. If a Prime Minister had a plan to close down parliment, it is a bad plan. This is damage control, and damage control is never a pre medidated plan. It is a reactionary measure. For the people that are looking at all the polls, saying, look at us we are "UP" or "DOWN", I would suggest that the CPC know how much higher they are in the polls and knew so, before the Prime Minister went begging to the GG. For everyone raving about these numbers, clearly they weren't strong enough to convince the Prime Minister to face the opposition on Monday. This Dogs breakfast is nobodys plan. It was a waste of parliment, and of good government....
  15. Now I feel better.
  16. Any Liberals not upset with his tape, need to resign immediately with Dion. Why Wednesday. These jokers wanted Harper voted out on a Monday. Monday is good enough to be rid of Dion. I can't see how any professional newsman with decades upon decades couldn't suppress their amazement of the incompetence of the Liberal party and Dion. News media were ringing their hands with glee when they heard Mr. Bean is going to lead the charge. Everyone knew that the train that left the station, was ready for a WRECK.!!! Media needs a story. The best side for the media is a good story. And a good story is always replaced by a better story. Had Dion not went on TV the media would have had a good story. Harpers poor performance on network TV. But then a GREAT STORY CAME IN.....or DIDN'T COME IN. and when it did, The story is.... Dion down, Harper off hook. You can't spin stuff like this...
  17. Competence / Dion? Isn't that an oxymoron? I watched CTV, I saw nothing regarding the NDP or Duceppe. They basically said, Harper was Lame, Dion is an idiot, talked about the two lame idiots, then said goodnight. Perhaps you were watching the CTVs cable news station... If so, I wish I did too. That's because it is news. Not providing your National address to the Nation on time is NEWS!!!
  18. That is correct. I thought this thread was going to die along with the suspension of parliment. Ok, I thought it might continue for a bit, but I see the vote count is still upwardly mobile. I have to wonder, 1) why hasn't the anti-coalition vote overtaken the coalition vote. 2) How long is the dead man walking going to lead the coalition in the vote poll above. I question the sanity of those who primed Dion to the lead in these polls..... What one earth were you thinking? How do those people who choose Dion like their choice? Why would you pick a 2 time loser? Clearly he is going to receive his third set of termination papers as leader. Well Coalition supporters. You have time, choose your leader.... Anti Coalition, can't believe your still trailing..... 83 votes and counting.
  19. I said overpaid..... and CUSHY. But thanks for the incentive. I will roll over now, and use my other finger to type with.
  20. I am terribly sorry scriblett. I believed earlier in some threads nearly a year ago that you indicated to me you worked for the Conservatives. I am truly sorry if I mistook you for someone else. You talk to many people on these forums in one year. I do not relish calling you a paid partisan when you are not. Thankfully, I didn't call you something worse.. like a swearword...like Politician That would be a punishable offense.
