  1. Yup there is..
  2. The LIBERALS got rid of the Auto Pact with the IMPLEMENTATION fo NAFTA. By then the rules were so watered down, that they were then challenged by Japanese Auto Makers and the Auto Pact was ruled in violation. Content provisions were changed dramatically and 60% "Canadian Content" was changed by the Liberals to 50% North American Content, which included Mexico. The Fact that the Liberals Campaigned against Free Trade, then implemented a Larger Free Trade agreement, and then embarked on Trade Agreements with South Korea etc. and that David Emmerson would switch parties to continue the Liberal dream... tells me you can blame the CPC all you want. But my guess is you would vote Liberal and accept these trade agreements.
  3. Ayatollah Khomeini He shows me the book in Arabic in which, 41 years ago, Ayatollah Khomeini wrote about new medical issues like transsexuality. "I believe he was the first Islamic scientist in the world of Islam who raised the issue of sex change," says Hojatulislam Kariminia. The Ayatollah's ruling that sex-change operations were allowed has been reconfirmed by Iran's current spiritual leader. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/newsnight/4115535.stm Last Updated: Wednesday, 5 January, 2005, 17:07 GMT Iran's sex-change operations By Frances Harrison The BBC's Tehran correspondent Clerics can study transsexuality but not homosexuality which is illegal in Iran In a country that has outlawed homosexuality, Frances Harrison meets one Iranian cleric who says the right to a sex change is a human right. For 20 years Mahyar has been a woman trapped in a man's body.
  4. More reasons to abolish the Senate.
  5. you'd be in for the rudest of rude awakenings then. Those people now losing their jobs are facing just that and they come from all spectrums of society. Some are positioned to handle the job loss better, and often in a lower income bracket because it is less likely they are dealing with large mortgage and car payments etc. The fact is, that luckily many of those middle class Canadians are not about to lose their jobs and can continue in their lifestyle while they work. And often this is only two to 8 paychecks away from disaster.... and problems. Especially if you cannot find similar paying income, should you lose your job. Just last night.... I had another conservation with a young women who found herself handed the pink slip on Tuesday including all her coworkers and shopfloor employees. And she does Payroll.... LOL, now the controller will handle the details of the winddown. There is plenty of talent and plenty of competition. I expressed that she get one more course to highlight a potential skill. Her severance will cover until EI kicks in, but EI isn't enough, and EI claws back if she goes on to earn money. There are alot of benefits in EI but there are just as many clawbacks and drawbacks, and things that can actually hold people back. It is government after all... why should you expect anything different. Regardless, I'd say that if this company left the way many companies are leaving the province, by moving to another country and filing for bankruptcy, thus denying the employees termination and severance, I'd say that this women would be in a HUGE pickle and the 2 weeks and 6 weeks delay is only the start of problems, especially the way many of these dirty companies operate. I'd say she is the lucky ones of the Unemployed, and she will have a different set of problems, such as how much the Government will take of the severance in Taxes and then EI takes the rest. But my experience with middle income earners... and upper middle income earners, is that bankruptcy happens very quick as the dominoes start to fall.
  6. I highly doubt the Tories or the Liberals have spent time collecting EI, although it would be a benefit to society if many of them were voted out of office. The Liberals are Hypocrits beyond compare and the Tories are being loyal to their ideology. I know the problems with EI, and I would never ever trust a Liberal campaign promise to fix EI.
  7. CPC MPs are running around being photo opp kings.
  8. Somehow a really stupid original post, turned into a decent discussion. My hats off to Pro Capitalists/Socialist forces who made this thread worth reading.
  9. Olegs Backh... For the record.. Oleg.... You pretend to work and I will pretend to pay you.... LOL.
  10. No... because its stupid.
  11. I am dumber for reading this.....The Prof needs to find a new job. He's a loser.
  12. LOL.... I went to change that.... Well, I guess we are going down this thread drift path... LOL. Good answer.. too..
  13. The Star always returns to supporting the LPC unconditionally. That is no surprise.
  14. Hard Core Liberal supporter can never get over the fact that they essentially pulled the plug on their own government. Announced an election, and then tossed aside the only support they required in order to govern. Not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. While one may blame the NDP for their own stupidity, the LPC needs to wonder why they allowed corruption and a civil war interfere with good governance. Then once having the coronation, followed by punitive efforts against the Only women with enough balls to make Martin Earn it, Martin goes on to call an unnecessary election and throw away his MAJORITY government for a Minority Government. This guy burned his bridges and lost his government on his own. Regardless, the LPC under Paul Martin had every opportunity to win the 2006 election. They blew this all on their own. The over the top commercials and a campaign run on the same script as 2004. It required using the Harper Fear Factor early and then in the final days, Going after the NDP to crush their support. Martin made his own bed..
  15. I think the CPC have targeted a weakness on Ignatieff. This straw poll reflects the perception of the LPC leader. 6 to 1 currently think Ignatieff will leave if he loses rather then stay. This does make it appear as he is "Just Visiting". The other number isn't that good in that only 6 of the 14 pundits here think Ignatieff can become the next Prime Minister.
  16. Well, thats a good read.... However, while Harper and Ignatieff play posture and polls... its actually people like Diane Finley, who is taking flack for her criticisms of people laid off and collecting E.I. benefits.
  17. I tend to agree with this analysis.
  18. Economists.....LOL.... Economists are pundits with graphs and opinions. And when they are wrong... they make new graphs and change their opinions. We are in the current state of affairs because of certain Idealogical Economic Doctrines moving to the forefront in Canadian and Global Politics. The Economists also want a Carbon Tax... Nuff Said.
  19. Ditto... So... what solutions are out there?
  20. Nor can the Liberals win any ground in an election on EI reform. They would get split on the left and right as the issue is highlighted. 1) It was the Liberals that changed the system, created the weakness of benefits, and stole from EI. 2) The CPC will eat them up in a campaign on 45 days of work. The LPC will not be able to talk or negoitate there way out of this, and worst of all they don't honestly support it themselves. 3) The public are not open to go to an election on this point. Those on EI or out of work and cannot collect are less likely to vote, and the vote will still go three ways, and those employed have no intention of supporting another election this fall, causing even more delays in government. Ignatieff should have used January to negotiate a formal coalition with the CPC. Since they are already propping up the government 100% of the time, they would have been better off to give the CPC a condition of support that would ensure no election for 2 years. The LPC could build while not having to huff and puff with hot air. Nobody I know takes the Liberals seriously on the subject of EI. That lack of credibility will expand should the LPC choose this as the grounds to fight a campaign. And that is why Harper has no intention of backing down.
  21. You campaign against the public financing of political propoganda.... Thats got my support. Campaign Slogans..... on Partisan FLyers... Bark at the Moon Government Spending Howling mad, (Ok, no self promotion.. need a campaign manager ..... LOL
  22. What on earth are you talking about??? I've raised this money, not the damn conservatives.... This is MY and Everyone elses Tax Money being abused, and apparently now all parties are jumping on the bandwagon. Its gotten out of hand. Yet too many people think like you do, and believe that the poltical parties are paying for this garbage. The Conservatives are treating people like suckers.
  23. Whoa... Wild Bill, the Reform Party started losing their edge with the Pension Fiasco. No courage to follow through, even if it required leading by example. This is exactly the direction the Reform Party was heading... No suprises. Its why people like Cadman found themselves on the outside looking in. And that was good for Canada.
