People are getting fed up with natives
Accountability Now replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Wow....you really like your conspiracy theories. Some did. Maybe not all...or at least not to the liking of the Six Nations. What I am saying is that the money wasn't owed to them as it wasn't their land. -

Rejected or accepted? 1844: A surrender is signed by 47 Six Nations chiefs that authorized the sale of land to build Plank Road. Are you saying this DIDN'T happen? -

I don't think you understand. The article is saying that Florida and Arizona is right in there with the bottom feeders because they are bad organizations....a point that I was making to BushCheney showing that even having a good climate doesn't grant a winner. Essentially your statement above is actually agreeing with what I was saying. I live in Edmonton and I'm very aware of the climate here. Basing our climate on a one year especially an El Nino year does not make your case. The reality is that Edmonton has harsh winters which is the only time that an NHL player needs to live in the city where they play. They are particularly harsh compared to California and Florida teams but even still noticeably worse than many of the other US teams. Even in Canada, Vancouver gets much milder winters than us. I'm hoping you are right. I think Chiarelli did a decent job in the past so I'm hoping that is the case. I still believe Lowe cursed the Oilers when he signed Penner as an RFA. Its kind of an unwritten rule among GMs to not do that especially with a marginal player. -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_River_land_dispute The land/deed in question was bought by Haldimand in May of 1784. Payment made. He then gave the Iroquois permission to live on the land. It wasn't a treaty with specific rights, it was a reward for siding with the British during the war. Haldimand's grant was not legally proper so Simcoe came in and provided a limited deed in 1793 which again did not provide the natives with the right of alienation. (ie right to sell the land to anyone but themselves and back to the King). From what I have read, the Six Nations actually rejected the Simcoe Patent because they knew they didn't own the land. Shortly after that Brant sold off some of the land even though he didn't have the right nor the deed to do so. Payment made even though the land wasn't theirs. Land for Plank Road was sold even though they didn't own the deed. Payment made even though the land wasn't theirs. The reality is that the deed for the land was never fully turned over to the Six Nations. If so, please provide the treaty or deed title that shows it did. I did address it. I showed you the link to the Canadian government audit of the First Nations trust fund. The fact that you feel this specific claim should be added to that list does not prove that its a legal fact.. Again, this matter is in the courts because of the various components involved. The reality is that the Canadian government was willing to settle because they probably did say they would put the money in trust and having this come out in court would make them look bad on that front. However, their actual 'legal' responsibility would be limited because the Canadian government never turned over the deed and therefore legally wouldn't have to put anything in trust. As you say...I guess we'll see what the courts say. -

Eberle did fairly well with McDavid down the stretch but I agree that it won't be enough to keep him, especially if they can package him up for a good defenseman. Yakupov will go for a bag of pucks. No way they can have him here next year. -

The article states that Arizona and Florida are just outside the top 5. It somewhat proves my point as players want to play for a good organization that has a chance of winning. The article may be a bit out of date since the Panthers are doing quite well this year which may trigger more players their way. The reality is that if you have a crappy climate (like Edmonton and Winnipeg) then you can't have a crappy organization. Edmonton has both. -

No. Payments were made and not all members got their share. As per usual the Chiefs or leaders in the group screwed over others. Happened then, happens now. -

Payment was made. That's why it hasn't gone to court -

To start, there are only 7 CDN teams compared to 23 US teams so right off the start it is three times more likely that an American team will get in. I don't believe it's a matter of money since there is a salary cap. With all things equal climate does play a factor but in general it's the teams ability to win that draws players. As much as players would love to play in California or Florida, I believe they would come to Edmonton, Calgary or Winnipeg if there was a legitimate chance to win. -

And that would matter how....considering most people in Canada don't really care about the Catholic church anyway. -

Some are obligations due to the treaties that were signed. Others are handouts due to the bleeding heart courts that go far beyond what the treaties say or ever intended. -

Key words....different management processes. Meaning they are being looked at and not some conspiracy theory as you suggest. We have already been through this one http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/topic/23721-white-people-cant-live-here-six-nations-racism/page-19#entry976145 No matter how many times someone shows you the complete story, you just end up saying "We'll let the courts decide". That is until the courts actually don't go your way then its a travesty. -

Are you claiming that those transactions aren't included in this https://www.aadnc-aandc.gc.ca/eng/1321564482345/1321564505320 If so, what basis are you making that claim on? -
I'm not asking for the PM to be an expert in all of these....but how about one or two? Or how about enough knowledge in many areas that allows him to make a proper decision when it needs to be made. But you should have some of both. That man also had a degree in economics and was elected Governor of California before being given the chance to run the country. I can also think of another crappy actor who was Governor of California which helps my point. Are you telling me that Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg have no engineering skills or conversely no leadership skills. Again...you should have both if you want to be the top dog.

waldo....welcome back. How was your most recent suspension? I am a bit shocked that you would choose to engage me so shortly after your recent Montreal sewage dump fiasco. Good on ya! Do you ever get tired of being wrong? The BEd offered at UBC is similar to most institutions in that it can take four years OR one year if you already have a previous degree. It may have taken him four years to complete it but that's a different story Maybe your famous waldo googly skills can help me out. They say he worked as a teacher but I can't seem to find anything that proves he was a full time teacher versus a substitute teacher (which I have numerous references too). Now....one can claim it is difficult to get a full time teaching gig and they would be correct. One could also claim that at that time Trudeau was going through a tumultuous time in his life with the loss of his brother and father in a short period. This would be correct too. However, I can't say that one should put any credence to idea that he has solid teaching experience. In a short three year window he may have only taught half that time. I corrected your statements for you. You're welcome. I mean seriously, did he ever finish anything that he started? I wonder if he'll last the four years as PM. You forgot the part where he advanced to a position where he was working with the company's computer systems. Of course, this was job he had after high school and before university. Not bad compared to a bouncer/snow boarding instructor. You're using a US Republican to make Trudeau look better? Interesting. Almost every PM has had an Bachelor of Arts. Its a prerequisite to get to higher things like Law or Masters degrees in say Economics. Of course, I don't know what one does with a Literature major compared to other departments in the faculty like Psychology or Political Science or Economics. Let me rephrase that, I'm not certain that I would be excited if I spent thousands of dollars on my kids education if they got a degree with a Literature major. But hey trust fund kids don't worry about that sort of thing, right? How about compared to Literature? Like JT's After Ed Degree....only this is a Master's program. Right....gotcha. It was. The NCC may be a lobby group however it is a group that lobbies in regards to government actions that affect the ECONOMY. You know...little things like taxation, free enterprise, accountability, etc. Again, compare this to a part time teacher/bouncer/snow board instructor/actor.

What happens when those people who surround that leader realize he or she doesn't actually know what they are talking about. Charisma will get you through the gates but there has to be some substance after that. What industry are you in? The only failures I've seen in my industry are when outsiders come in and don't take the time to learn the industry thinking their rah rah corporate speeches are enough.
-
No convincing needed. I could show you that grass is green and if you don't want to hear it then you won't. The talking points are all there. Harper received a Masters in Economics. I don't care what you or anyone else says....that shows intelligence and commitment to a point that not many people can do it. He went on to use his education as the President of the NCC which has a mission of reducing government involvement. I can understand that not everybody would agree with this basis of this group or what it stands for but you can't tell me his involvement here is equal to being a camp councillor or even a drama teacher. No offense to teachers, but its not extremely difficult to become a teacher. Its difficult to be a good teacher and to have the perseverance to remain teaching. However, Trudeau showed that he didn't as he quit three years later. He tried getting and Engineering degree and quit that two years later.

Keep in mind that not all Liberals are the same. I do believe in the spectrum for right and left with far rights and far lefts being on either end. The reality is that most Canadians are a lot closer to the middle even if they are on the right or left side. So with that said, I would call myself a Conservative but I probably align closer to some Liberals than extreme Conservatives.

Holy F. You have zero debating skills. Instead of actually arguing what was said (ie. showing that Calgary was in fact a reputable school, contrary to what you said), you in turn just go back to your initial comment that really equates to a childish comeback like "Ya....well you're a poo poo head" I could re-list what Trudeau and Harper each did as a comparison but you would just answer with 'woozy wazzy'.
