  1. I thought this was funny https://www.trendsmap.com/twitter/tweet/1498723394854039555
  2. You can assume whatever you want. At this point you’re making up your own conversation anyway
  3. Have you already lost track of this conversation? I’m quoting scientific data and asking other members to provide the same. You on the other hand had a temper tantrum about it and began rambling about everything that you hate in life not once provided one bit of science. Is the barber shop closed this weekend? Is that why you’ve chosen to come on here to incoherently ramble?
  4. Don't know yet. Dear Leader didn't want to man up and give a plan for the removal of mandates. Right...so if it doesn't affect you then its not an issue. I'll remember that about you. WTF are you talking about? I knew you were a bit out there with your earthling mumblings but now you are completely delusional.
  5. Yet the irony is you are the one chirping me about obtaining facts and your only response is a bunch of bleeding heart feelings. The irony is rich indeed.
  6. If its yesterday's news then why does your hero JT still have federal mandates in place? I'll wait for your elegant answer on this one.
  7. Please tell me you're joking with this comment. You're at a point where your theatrical comments make you look absurd. No. Trudeau is not Hitler, he sounded like Hitler when he made is comments. Again, an English lesson on comparisons using like or as might help. By citing data from experts? That doesn't make me incredible, rather it should be seen as normal. Already here. Its called Omicron. Hence the lifting of mandates while Omircon is in mid stroke. Well...this was my first post on Repolitics in almost two years and it came back in August before Delta even hit us. So yes...I did know how this was going down. The CDC had posted back in September of 2020 that 94% of deaths involved those with comorbidities. The UK already had plenty of data streaming out of their Delta wave in the summer of 2021. I didn't invent these ideas, I just listened to people other than the CBC and the Canadian government. Perhaps you might try looking beyond your myopic point of view and expand your view to things outside your tiny realm to see these answers. It was stated a long while back that 1) the virus can spread among the vaccinated and 2) the vast majority of deaths were among those with co-morbidities. The fact that you chose NOT to listen to these FACTS is completely on you so stop your whining. My only fear is letting this country be overtaken by people like you who have no clue what facts are and proceed on making decisions on feelings.
  8. You made a point? You sounded more like some old rambling man at the bus depot where you started talking about vaccines and ended up talking about 10 other things in the same story. I'm advocating for fact based approaches so that the people that ACTUALLY needed the vaccine would have gotten it. Instead our government tried to push the vaccine on everyone which we knew would create a push back because for most people, COVID was a minor cold/flu. So the people who are susceptible hear about this and feel like they don't need the vaccine when they are in fact the very people that do. If the government gave two shits about people's heath they would have promoted the facts involved here and not some false narrative. But hey...you keep chasing that bogeyman and make sure you sleep well tonight.
  9. Its so that we don't have the bulk of the people scared shitless of dying from something that has a very small chance of actually doing so. Its so that we don't go around vaccinating young healthy people who don't actually need it. Its so that we can educate those who actually NEED the vaccine to take the vaccine instead of imposing it on everyone. Its so that we make decisions based on FACTS Should I carry on or do you get the point?
  10. Someone like you would infer that. I asked him so that I can have facts and real data. I guess you prefer the folklore and stories you hear at the barber shop. ?
  11. Do you have a cite for this? I always post a similar stat (as shown above) using Alberta data that shows it to be 97% but I would like to have more backup than just the Alberta population.
  12. No groaning at all as I completely agree with you. The guy in the video you posted said about 10% of Covid deaths were likely with Covid but not because of Covid however there were reports coming in before the Delta wave that showed at least 25% of deaths were not because of Covid. Even in the UK they started reporting deaths as inclusive or exclusive which is the same as saying with or because and those were consistently showing a 25-30% difference. This is still lower than the difference in 'with' and 'from' deaths under Omicron however what hasn't changed is why these deaths are happening. Ironically, there was a decent article on this topic on ctv.ca today (https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/the-grey-zone-hindering-efforts-to-count-canada-s-covid-19-deaths-1.5801131) At the start of the pandemic they didn't really know what the comorbidities were and as such anyone with Covid was dying because of Covid. I won't get into the conspiracy theories but I do even know cases where people died from suicides and were marked as Covid deaths!! As the pandemic went on and comorbidities emerged, you started to see the people who were dying from this mostly had these pre-existing conditions in common. At this point the idea of dying WITH Covid started. For a very long time now, it has been clear that the people dying from/with Covid almost all had co-morbidities. Take for example the data from Alberta: First I will acknowledge that the population of Alberta is small in comparison to the country but this stat is the only thing I have seen on this. As per the image, 96% of deaths involve people with one or more co-morbidities. When this first graphic came out last summer, that number was 97%. So it has remained very consistent. I can agree that the Omicron wave will have more deaths of people dying WITH Covid but the deaths are still largely and almost exclusively happening with people that have pre-existing conditions. Even the hospitalizations and ICU visits reflect the same thing. This was never a pandemic of the unvaccinated, rather it was a pandemic of the pre-existing conditions.
  13. Both. Its not like kids were being hospitalized more than old people nor were they dying more than old people. The increases were just relative to their own age groups with comparison to different waves. You might be able to say that for hospitalizations but not for deaths when you look at the broader picture. The overall death rate for Ontario is 84 and for Alberta is 88. Quebec was about the same or even better than Ontario for vaccinations and their rate is much higher at 162. Manitoba is also much higher than Alberta/Sask and they had a better vaccination rate too. Although I concede the hospitalizations rates in Alberta exceed other provinces, it is of interest to note that BC is at about 352/100k compared with Alberta at 474/100k. Ontario is at 284 even though BC had similar if not better vaccination rates. Point being that vaccination is one factor but other factors need to be considered especially with hospitalizations which are now being looked at retrospectively to see which cases were admitted because of Covid versus cases with Covid. Yes and no. Deaths are still deaths so those would be equal however hospitalizations may be viewed differently as the duration and severity of hospital stays may differ with these new versions of the virus. I am looking forward to seeing future studies that should be able to look back on all the data and see what was done right and not so well.
  14. I remember having this discussion with you at the time and came to the conclusion (at least I did ?) that saying the Delta wave was affecting more young people was grammatically true in that the percentages went from 3 to 4%. This did not mean it was affecting them MORE than older people though. Even though the increase in the young person category was still an increase, it was not a large concern.
  15. What’s your thoughts? Do you think he had inside knowledge that the senate would crush it?
  16. He could get rid of the mandate that prevents unvaxxed people from flying. Currently I am a prisoner inside my own country even though I have broken no laws. I fully accept that JT can’t control what the US does but he could easily change the ban to a test and achieve the same results. When it comes to the US, someone needs to blink first. If the US opens it’s borders then Trudeaus other mandates are relatively ineffective as we can just drive to the US and fly from there
  17. Historically, respiratory viruses get weaker as they mutate in order for them to stay around. Covid is tracking that way too so I think it’s not likely it will get more deadly You make it sound like Covid spiked after the restrictions were dropped when that’s not true at all. Denmark’s Covid cases were already high when they made the decision to drop restrictions. The cases continued their trend upwards since but Denmark feels the hospitals and deaths are still manageable which is the end goal with endemic disease
  18. Man it’s really getting tough dealing with people like you that literally have no comprehension of the English language. I didn’t come up with shit. That number was the result of a John Hopkins study. Let me hold your hand on this so you can understand. What I’m going to post next is a link which is a shortened word for hyperlink that connects one to the internet. This “link” will connect you to a news article that discusses the study. On this site you will see the figure stated and you could then discuss/dispute that number based on the merit of the study or you could continue in the Citezen-2015 way and make baseless, asinine comments like you just did. Are you following me or do I need to slow down for ya? A new study out of Johns Hopkins University is claiming that worldwide pandemic lockdowns only prevented 0.2 per cent of COVID-19 deaths and were “not an effective way of reducing mortality rates during a pandemic.” “We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality,” reads the paper, which is based on a review of 34 pre-existing COVID-19 studies. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/nationalpost.com/news/world/johns-hopkins-university-study-covid-19-lockdowns/wcm/57324faf-9d83-44a5-9cfe-9ab51608ff64/amp/
  19. The study was actually a review of 34 existing studies on this topic. A meta analysis of some sort. But hey…you pick and choose to believe what ever study you want as it’s a free country. Or at least it used to be
  20. No…the study indicated that lockdowns and mandates prevented 0.2% of deaths. Meaning the lockdowns did nothing.
  21. According to the recent John Hopkins study….0.2% would have died
