  1. Mortgage insurance is a waste of money period. If you insist get term life insurance, not mortgage insurance. The only insurance where the more you pay in the less you get out.
  2. Biggest snowfall in decades in Great Britain this year. Coldest winter in memory in the NE USA. I guess it is CLIMATE CHAMGE and not global warming after-all. How neat!
  3. That's AWESOME!!! Truth through hip hop!!! If only I was that stupid! damnit - no wonder I didn't get the pussy I wanted when I was a young feller! I didn't lie and I wasn't STUPID. damn it all to hell.
  4. I'd somewhat like to agree with you. A socially moderate Republican is a good deal. Especially if he's a little more fiscally responsible than the current administration. If not for the war, which was thrust upon them, (Iraq or not) the government purse of the US would be the best in a generation. That INCLUDES all of the socialistic programs that Bush has put in since in power. Bush is really more to the left than Clinton ever was. The proof is in the pudding.
  5. I've been in Alberta for 10.5 years now and despite my trying, have never been able to get a family Dr. I would easily pay $1000 a year just to have one, but no - I have to go without because of our socialogial hangups. Hooray MEdicare!!!!
  6. Giuliani will be the next Pres of the US.
  7. So Riverwind.. Catchme et al. In YOUR collective minds THERE is NO difference between these two things: http://www.michaelclancy.com/ and this: http://www.backyardnature.net/f/bredmold.htm Please regale us with your progressive insight into why these are morally equivelant. I encourage everyone to click on these links to have a visual interpretation for their philosophy so eloquently (or not) displayed here for all to see. See where radical 'progessive' thought has taken us and wants to take us. I will let the pictures do that talking for me. Thanks.
  8. Wow, you are a real piece of work POSER. The prisoners who are turned over to the Afghans are monitored by the Red Cross. (Crescent) Also, if we don;t turn them over to the Afghan's who do we turn them over to? Your type complained when we turned them over to the Americans.. I can only imagine the wailing if we had our own detention centre.. The point is your type don't want us there at all and that is the only reason that this professor brought this forward. You want us out and that's it. Any evidence that denigrates the CF's along the way s only a 'bonus' for you. For that reason you are the lowest of the low. Scum feeds on you. There is NO proof that Canadian soldiers abused ANY POW's at all. Even in the missive supplied by the blatently partisan professor it said that the POW's were being belligerant and aggressive. The soldiers have to detain them - if that means they get roughed up - they get roughed up. The majority of Canadians supported the Afghan mission and it is still over 50% support.
  9. I DID make that clear. I don;t know how many times I had to say it in order for you to get it.. Anyways, there is still a difference between a fetus and mould. Mould cannot turn into a human, a fetus can. When why and how? Not sure and neither is anyone else.
  10. You are thick We all know this from other threads but I will explain. I wasn't speaking about RIGHTS. got it? I was speaking of biology. The fetus is ALIVE by all definitions of the word. If it is not, then please show me why. The debate is over wether it is conscious, does it feel/remember pain etc etc.
  11. Why would I have an issue with the freezing of embryos? The freeze them in cases where people are having difficulties getting pregnant. I have no moral qualms with that. it's not like the fetus is going to remember it!
  12. You are being duplicitous. You insist on claiming the fetus is alive only because you wish to impose your morality on the discussion. Whether a fetus is biologically living is irrelevant to the discussion because many things are biologically living and we don't have a debate about whether there is something wrong with killing them.My feeling is the only thing that is relevant when discussing abortion is the arbitrary line when most people agree that the mass of cells called a fetus is a distinct human being that has a life independent of the mother. That arbitrary line is a question of religion/metaphysics and not a question of science. You are being absurd. A fetus is ALIVE. It has no rights in Canada that people who are born - have. That doesn't make the fetus any less ALIVE however. That's like saying you are 'kind of pregnant'. It is alive. There is no debate on that. The debate is on wether it is conscious and is fully human and when that occurs. Can you not see what I am saying here? Look, if it makes your opinion on the morality of abortion uncomfortable because you don't like to think that the fetus is alive then maybe people here should re-examine their views on it. I realize it is alive and I still think that there are instances where abortion is moral. It is is EASY to think ALL abortions are moral if you refuse to believe the fact that it is alive. If you do then you are only lying to yourself.
  13. I have black hair and blue eyes.. Does that make me 'rare' too? I want to be rare!!
  14. Ahh.. but that's where you are mistaken. I wasn't put any morality on it whatsoever. a fetus is alive, that was my ONLY point. I found it fascinating that those on the pro-choice side could delude themselves to ther point that they think it is not. I am not sayign that all abortion is wrong and in fact gave my views on abortion in ONE of the posts. The rest has been me sticking to my guns that a fetus is ALIVE. I agree that we give 'value' to all sorts of different things that are alive. That was not my point of debate here. It was to make people aware that the fetus is alive. I'm glad that you can finally agree that it is.
  15. Great! You just proved that the life represented by a fetus is no different from the life represented by a fruit fly. We are talking about 'human life' here and what the definition of 'human life' is. Nothing in your quotes even attempts to define what that means. Wait.. Are you STILL confusing biology with law?? after all this you are insisting on confusing the two?? To what end?
  16. Great! You just proved that the life represented by a fetus is no different from the life represented by a fruit fly. We are talking about 'human life' here and what the definition of 'human life' is. Nothing in your quotes even attempts to define what that means. If a fetus isn't human life then what else could it possibly be nitwit?
  17. The fact of the matter is, that your opinion not a fact. Both jdobbin and myself provide different definitions of biological life which are just as scientifically valid as yours. You did? where? See above for the one's that I found.
  18. The fact of the matter is, that your opinion not a fact. Both jdobbin and myself provide different definitions of biological life which are just as scientifically valid as yours. Check this out: http://www.michaelclancy.com/
  19. eh? They are shipping money that is due to the government of Iraq.... Your conclusion is way off base.
  20. Who are you arguing with? Yourself? Since when does there need to be a law to make a biological fact, fact? The Fetus is ALIVE. If you can't get that than that is your issue. You are correct, RIGHTS begin at birth currently in Canada. Who was arguing that? If you have an abortion you are terminating a life. In my opinion that can be morally ethical in the cases of rape, severe mutation etc. In other cases it can be questionable ethically - ie using abortion as a form of birth control, later term abortions etc. I don't think anyone here would take too much issue with what I am saying. But the fact of the matter is, life begins at conception.
  21. Hey,if you want to argue when biological life begins, knock yourselves out. Just know that unless you believe that life begins at conception all you are doing is stamping your feet and saying 'No! science is wrong and that's IT'! your choice. I'm not an anti-abortionist. Merely fascinated how political agenda's can over ride science. If that makes me a George W Bush clone then so be it.
  22. He has no citations. And he looks to be abusive if you question him about it. Biological life begins at conception as did all of your lives who are reading this. Find me a peer reviewed scientific article that disputes this and I will show you the 'four corners of the world'. 'nuff said.
  23. Wrong. I believe a fetus is not a human life until it can survive on its own outside the mother's body. This would put the line at somewhere around 7 to 8 months. Before the fetus is just a mass of tissue which is part of the mother's body. My definition of 'human life' is just as biologically sound as your definition. Personally, I think it is aburd to call something that nothing more than a blob of cells human. According to common Canadian law you are a 'hard right' conservative on this issue then riverwind. Tell me, how does that feel?
  24. None of Bush's big ideas have worked out and the Democrats were complicit in the worst of those ideas hurting Americans. Your enablement crapola is another way of saying doing nothing. The right wing is absolutely no help to the poor and has cut program after program increasing child poverty. Thanks for nothing. Thanks for your OPINION.
  25. It's not about arguing when life starts per se. It's about whether the rights of an unborn and undeveloped life should override the rights of a woman to do what she wants with her body. WHO exactly brought that argument up? It certainly was not me. My assertion is that if you do have an abortion that you should surely be aware of the scientific facts of the process. You do not agree?
