The mold on a piece a bread left outside grows by itself. Does that mean it has a right to life? The 'right to life' only applies to things we call human. The problem comes down to the definition of human. Myself and most other people define human as a something which has been born and is capable of living outside the mother's body. Until that time the fetus is nothing but another piece of the mother's body. You are confusing Biological LIFE and legal status. They are different. I also find it strange that you would compare mould with human life. Not a very apt depiction Riverwind. You can do better than that.

No, Birth makes you a citizen and all the priveledges and responsibilities that come with that. It does NOT determine when biological life begins.
-
You sure about this? Perhaps what you meant is it has the "building blocks of life" ? Cuz , me being a moron and all thinks that perhaps a fresh sperm and egg all snuggily looking for a place to hang for the next 9 months might not survive if taken outside the host body. Irrelevant. It is LIFE. It is ALIVE. If it's not alive then how does it grow? Biologists everywhere are waiting with baited breath. Sperm and Eggs are the building blocks of life I suppose. Once the egg is fertilized by the sperm and cell division begins it is alive. I can see extraterrestrials coming here and saying of us: "Well they need oxygen to breathe and cannot live on their own in space. Are they really alive then?"
-
Why does life begin at conception? As I said, those sperm seem just as alive to me, and possibly more conscious as they have a pretty clear idea of where they are going and what they are doing, and do so independently. Why aren't you agitating to protect them? Find me a biologist who says in a journal that LIFE does NOT begin at conception. If it doesn't then when does it? Your unwillingness to admit this biological fact shows your ideaology on the issue.

The problem is that free education is not "free" in the same way free health care is not "free." We would have to fund a universal post-secondary system with higher taxes or larger debt. I don't know how many people will be willing to do that. That said, I think a system where the most capable people have the opportunity to go to post secondary school is much preferable to a system where the most able to pay are given the seat instead. That's what scholarships are for.

Banker/Wall Street Governance

Who is dumber? The insane one or the people that entertain the insane one with argument? just sayin -
The "life begins at conception" argument is silly. The sperm swim single mindedly up the fallopian tube to find the egg - they appear just as "alive" in the moments before conception as the fertilized egg does in the moments after. Somehow people are willing to say those sperm cells are dispensible, disposable, no big deal to eject as many of those as men want, but heaven forbid a woman eject a clump of cells from her body. You are confused. I said it has LIFE. Abortion is not a debate about wether it is alive, merely conscious. Any moron knows this. Seeing as how you don't, I suggest putting a wee bit of effort in researching it before jumping to conclusions.

Private bankers have been running the world for well over 1000 years. Its not something that is taught in school. For example in archealogical shows they tell you everything about a society except how their money and banks worked. Shows will talk about sewage, water, housing, politics, technology, wars but never money and financing. This part of history has been practically erased. All the US leaders that were assasinated or had an attempted assasination were monetary reformers and you can find quotes from them. Julius Ceaser was killed over 2000 years ago.. -
Increase the loan amounts but do not reduce tuition fees.

There are lots of resources available to her. You can't make someone take advantage of them.

But the fetus isn't part of a woman's body. It is only dependant upon it.

Heavy Snow in GB today. 6 feet of snow expected for some parts of NY state -
There is MORE ownership to the mother than you, me or anyone else. That's the point, whether or not you agree that it's "ownership." That's NOT the point. The Point is that fetus is alive. Why does the mother have the right to kill it? just asking? Where does this 'right' to kill come from? How do men get this 'right' to kill?
-
Do you also think that the Earth is 6000 years old? How could you be so dumb as to think that LIFE does not begin at conception? You think that the fetus is dead yet still growing and developing? Do you write for the national enquirer? Find me ONE scientist that agrees that life does not begin at conception? Thanks for putting so much 'thought' into this....

Oh! that's one of my very favourites!!

The Hudson river in NY froze over this winter for the first time in years. -
Because a fetus is dependant on the mother to live, how does that infer ownership of said fetus?

You're the one using all the exclamation marks sonny.

Is Global Warming a Leftist Urban Legend?

The water being warmer than 4 degrees in the high arctic is not being forecasted by anyone. That is an inane assumption. No one knows how this is going to pan out. Your assumption that we will presumably swimming and laying about the beach off of baffin island is laughable. -

If you assumed that the water was going to be any warmer than 4 degrees in the high arctic, which is quite the assumption. -
Wrong again. Don;t you get tired of being wrong all the time? There is currently NO abortion laws in Canada. None. Ergo there are no 'rights' based in law.

You do that Drea. You all rememeber this in 20 years when you finally come out of your collective stupor. (those that there is still hope for) Then remind yourself how a radical partisan ideaology can literaly bend your mind. Then remember Jim Jones and count yourself lucky that you were merely pissing on the graves of others instead of being in one yourself. -

well there goes the credibility of your link poser. The ice is already in the Ocean. It melting would have ZERO effect on water levels as it is already in the water. Any moron knows this. In fact, it may reduce sea levels as ice is less dense than water. Yes, and as any moron knows the ice covering the ocean is not the only ice to be found in the arctic. Yes and any moron can see that is NOT what that quote is referrign to. Thanks for coming out though. -
Canadian govt spending vs US
White Doors replied to HistoryBuff44's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The industrial military complex in the US created the Cold War in the first place. The Soviets were always playing catch up with the Americans. When the Soviets had 4 nuclear warheads, the Americans had 300, so the Soviets had to make another 300 to catch up. When they got there, the Americans had 3,000 so the Soviets had to play catch up again. And again. And then we ended up with enough nukes to blow up everything on earth a 1000 times over. Actually you have it backwards. The Soviets consistently had more nuclear warheads than the Americans.
