  1. Forecasts says rain in the morning and thundershower in the afternoon and maybe in the evening too. I know one person here who doesn't vote when it's raining. Anymore like him and Ford will lose.
  2. It's hard to beat a campaign that's cliched the demographic of drunk-drivers, wife-beaters and slumlords. That's a lot of people.
  3. Just more right-wing whining. "Isn't it obvious? Lokai is white on the right side. All his people are white on the right side."
  4. Yes, I agree. The only saving grace from not voting due to rain is that these simpletons remove themselves from the democratic process. Unfortunately, they continue to whine about it. Here’s an explanation: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=67745 Originally from The Toronto Star March 2006.
  5. That's why you didn't vote the last time? The Muslims made it rain? Whining is part of the right-wing agenda.
  6. We already knew that. I think Harper wanted to over-spend just to show off to the rest of the G20 that Canada is the only nation that has money to burn. They couldn't do that with the Gun Registry which was intangible but actually useful. I wouldn't be surprised if Harper is late for another photo-op because he was peeing in the fake-lake.
  7. Another good example of what happens when cost cutting and privatization occurs. Look at the debate over the Federal Gun Registry.
  8. I wonder if he knows how to use the Facebook security settings?
  9. Bottom line: A Republican President is the yardstick for all failures.
  10. If Helena Guergis or her advisors are smart, she may come out looking respectable. Of course, it all depends if Harper's allegations (whatever they may be) are true. If Harper's allegations are true, then Guergis has no choice but to keep quiet. However, if she in anyway disagrees with Harper, she can play on the current speculation and actually challenge Harper in public forcing him to play his hand and showing us that once again the emperor no clothes. 1) I heard a sound bite on the news yesterday that the Ethics Commissioner is not going to investigate; 2) An interview with the other Independant MP says Harper need not have contacted the RCMP. I forgot the details

  12. We already know what a failure the capitalists' attempt at low-income housing has turned out - a world wide recession. In comparison, socialistic Canada with its highly regulated banking system and universal health care is still doing alright. As America passes Health Care Reform, we welcome her to the 21st century.
  13. Come on, folks. Maybe she wants to add to what Sarah Palin had to say and continue with the praises of universal healthcare and as a woman, her right to choose.
  14. So what gives Flaherty's rosy predictions now any credibility?
  15. I think she would say something like "it's my body and my health and I have the right to choose without any third party dictating what I should do." I think Sarah is now pro-choice.
  16. There's as much credibility as what Flaherty said in April 2008. http://www.thestar.com/mobile/News/Canada/article/413170 http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/07/25/fedfinance.html
  17. I don't know why some people are so concerned. Take a look at our parliament. The MPs representing the majority of the population are in opposition. The MPs representing 30% of the population are on the government side. So just because visible minorities will soon represent the majority of the population, it'll have no effect in terms of who actually holds the power.
  18. There's a million excuses for people to whine but refuse to enact their right. I'm sure there were a lot of people from other countries who had endured more than rain who actually voted. Actually it was during the Mike Harris era that this line of thinking was preached unto the rest of us. Harris - hardly a lefty. But relax, I'm sure your ancestors did the same and that's how you got where you are. And in a few generations, all these immigrants you whine about won't be anymore as their descendants contribute to this society. But we all understand your sentiment. It's been repeated the world-over throughout history. Whenever there's some economic instability, immigrants were always to blame.
  19. This is the same guy who wouldn't go out to vote because it was raining. Since 1995 right wingers had always preached "do more with less." Well, that's unless they themselves have to do with less. I suppose one solution to prevent all that cheap labour is to have them all unionize to get reasonable pay. But then the right-wingers would just find something else to whine about because now, we're not competitive enough.
  20. I would have wagged my finger at Dalton and said "You had an option, sir. You could have said, 'I am not going to do it. This is wrong for Canada, and I am not going to ask Canadians to pay the price.' You had an option, sir — to say 'no' — and you chose to say 'yes' to the old attitudes and the old stories of the Liberal Party. That sir, if I may say respectfully, that is not good enough for Canadians." But Dalton is a Liberal so what can we expect from him except to maintain the old attitudes of the Liberal Party.
  21. Gail Shea wouldn't have been pied if she were sitting in Parliament.
  22. Some foreshadowing in election night. "The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there. There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy..."
  23. Conservatives down every except...you guessed it - and majority too!! So why do Albertans vote like sheep?
