Looks like the Martin Jugernaught is right on track...

Did you watch the CBC mini-movie on him? I missed it (stupid me). The de-regulation of the transportation industry is an obvious must. Look at AC. They can't survive with an outside ownership limited at 25%. F-ing Libs.

How well do they do this? In my view, not very well. -Eradicating terrorism; You are going to have to chase these guys through the streets or get foreign governments on your side to help you. You can't do it from the air or in battle tanks. (hint hint - old school CIA work) -Rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan; Afghanistan is still a hot bed. From what I've read is that they have a good handle on Kabul but that's it, outside the city it is still hit-and-miss. More work is needed. Iraq, the US can't do it on their own. People are upset because they don't have anything too look forward as of now. You need to give them hope to stop retaliating, infrastructure is the key, jobs and prosperity. You have to make them believe that this invasion is really going to better their lives. (I know that it is probably just the extremists, but the whole country seems in an up-roar). -Tax cuts and freeing up capital; no objections here. Put more money back in the pockets of the people, affordably, don't screw yourself over to do this.

Hello Ryan, and welcome. Here is a site, it's all you need. Join the better party. http://www.pcparty.ca/doc/510/

I don't know if you read National Geographic. But the latest issue has a good article about Saudi Arabia and the split between the traditional way of Islam and modernization. It is very informative, not so in a primary political sense but a general way, more of teaching you about the country as a whole vs. focussing on the political out-fall of 9-11. http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/03...ure1/index.html You have to buy the magazine for the full article.

http://www.canada.com/national/story.asp?i...CE-FE5967A02DEE An article I read this morning about the deduction of the word "Canadian" in CN Rail. For one CN is a private company, if they want to take the word Canadian out of their name, so be it. If the Canadian Gov't wants to send Collenette to ask them to put the word back into their name, then they should buy CN and do so. They sold it off in the first place, so leave them alone. Laissez-fair!

Fight the POWER! The UN does need some internal re-workings. Big time... Isn't there countires that are in the UN that don't abide by all the rules of the UN (human rights, etc..)

Who Would You Vote For In Ontario's General Electi
Cameron replied to Alliance Fanatic's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't really know much about all of the other parties...I'm a fed PC, but I don't know about Eves... Here is a article about the Tories in NS, I didn't agree with the $155 check, they could have really used that money.... http://www.herald.ns.ca/stories/2003/09/20...0/f227.raw.html -
What the hell is GR?

I would like to post this question to the members of the forum. I've seen allot of those shell commercials on TV, you know the ones about how they work to protect the environment and whatnot. Do they teach what they preach?
-
Craig - You seem very right-wing. I take it you vote for the Alliance or you put "Rebublican" at the bottom of the ballot and check that off Ok, ok no more personal hits, I know I will get a beating from you now... PEI only owes $1.1 billion in debt, that's not that bad. Compared to some other provences' (NS! $10b).
-
Craig - I heard about a study on cows and their CO2 emission, that they were very high. I don't know the details, just pickup on a conversation. 2. Has anyone heard of the wobble. Where the earth begins to wobble in its axis (not that you would feel it) and this could be the start of another ice-age? Anyone have some info on that?

It's a very edgy time. All we can do is hope that the two parties can come up with an alternative to the Liberals. Other wise we are in for another long-haul of lies and deceit. Not good. I don't know if this country can take another four years of Liberal rule. I know I can't. Good to see the PC's at 19 isn't it Gugsy

Dorval Airport To Be Renamed For Trudeau
Cameron replied to Neal.F.'s topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I personally would like to keep my province Nova Scotia separate. Are you suggesting a political change? On a map we would all be called our respective names but in a political sense NB, NS and PEI would be one big province? *edit* I don't know if that would work. I don't think you would get the votes to make the three all one. I wouldn't mesh, people in PEI and NB would not want their capitol to be Halifax and we wouldn't want our capitol to be something else....and vise versa -

Krustykidd Wants Me To Write How To Fix The World
Cameron replied to nova_satori's topic in The Rest of the World
This is what I heard in the "World at Ward" series. When the Germans first started bombing, they were bombing UK industrial sites. But one of the bombing runs, the Germans miss calculated and bombed London (or a major UK city, can't remember). In retaliation (the Brits thought it was intentional) went bombed German cites. That is what was said started it all. Who knows for 100%. -
Gimme a break.... All of the liberals must be online....

If the Canadian Alliance and Progressive Conservatives unite before the next federal election, can they defeat the Liberals? Yes 4745 votes (30 %) No 11188 votes (70 %) As of 2:41pm Sept. 19, '03

That's about it Luigi, have a moment of silence if you wish at the end of announcements and do what you will. Here in Canada it doesn't seem to be that big of an issue as it is in the states. Religion is somewhat a quiet entity here, and that's fine for me. If people want to attend they are more than welcome or you can pass by on the street without objection. Religion has been with us for a very long time, who knows how the world started. There are many theories, many different stories, beliefs, etc. But we must take one thing to mind. We only have ONE planet. We must learn to live with each other, to respect other people. If we stay our current course in life we may just end up destroying it all together. We must stop fighting and start co-operating if we are going to advance the human race. That may mean some religions may have to advance too. It may be hard, but it is looking like a necessity. All we have is ONE. ONE planet. Earnest Hemmingway once said 'This world is a fine place and worth fighting for', I truly agree with the second part....I really do.

Good point. Do what's best for Canada.

I heard on the CBC last night that Mackay made a pact with one of the runner-ups in the leadership race (can't remember his name). One of the conditions that were made for votes, was "No party mergers with the Alliance". If Mackay does go through with it he will loose all credibility...doesn't make for a good leader.

Is their any news station that you like? I personally don't mind the CBC... -
They probably voted Liberal....

Ok, some of my responses have been very harsh, I didn't mean some of them, but others I did. My views are atheist, I'm what you would call a "non-believer". I don't really mind religion. I did get hot-headed in some of my other posts, I usually have a calmer head on my shoulders. This topic has gone way off-topic. The one thing that we all should have is the liberty to go to a public school and learn. If you did want to put religion in a public school you should make it an after school programme, not mandatory, and should be whatever religion you want to, not just Christianity. Religion should not be publicly sited, because not everyone wants to hear that. And, Government and Religion should be separate. Governments are there to govern all peoples of a country and not have a religious bias.
