  1. Where can I do that??? Or do I have to wait...
  2. Joe Clark and the rest of the SOBs that don't want this new party can go to hell, on the express bus. I can't stand it when these people think this is a bad idea! FINE let the liberals rule this country for 1000s if years. The Orchardists are part of the OLD conservatives! They are not part of the future!
  3. This is the most viable party in Canada now. With this unification we can now have a party that can take on the liberals. Some members from both sides have expressed disagreement with this new development, well it's the best alternative to the Liberals. As dnsfurlan said before Stated simply, it provides Canadian voters with one strong choice as opposed to two questionable ones. Right on the mark with that statement....
  4. Very well said Gugsy....
  5. What are some of your views on casual smokers. People that smoke once a week or less?
  6. No bites...
  7. Going right, soon to do the loop and approaching left
  8. These Libs are getting pompus...bastards
  9. You guys got a problem there in Ont. I don't know what to say. It seems that you have run out of political bean-counters to vote for. Sounds like a time for the Alliance to make a triumphant entrance to the scene (well, it's too late now...but you get the point). CR - Is their any hope for your province, other than turning off the money taps to the rest of the country (that's a federal mandate any how...)
  10. This was talked about in another topic about CN Rail and their deletion of the word Canadian in their name. Deregulation looks like the road that we have to take in order for the transportation industry to survive. Some points of interest should be noted. 1. If you are going to deregulate, do it right. Don't let monopolies get in there and just do a private enterprise government job. It must true competition. 2. Governments need to keep their fingers out of the industry. No more Air Canada's. 3. With deregulation let all the players come in and play. But don't let them play us for fools either. I know this might go against my last statement about gov't finger-puppets, but you must have some rules and regulations to follow. That's my two cents Thanks CC
  11. He was trying to win votes. This whole "take jobs away from Canada bit" it lame, we all signed NAFTA!! Now they are seeing that more companies are doing business in Canada and Mexico because it's cheaper, DUH! Well no-shit-sherlock, I would to. I remember watching an article on CBC I think, about American candy manufacturers and their pilgrimage to Canada because of cheaper sugar prices. One of the biggest brand names (Lifesavers) was moving it's entire operation to Canada, to the denouncement of the American gov't. Money talks my friends...
  12. Interesting facts. Some may argue that it's just the business cycle at work....bring the noise...
  13. http://www.politicswatch.com/afghanistan-oct6-2003.htm Well, after listening to McCallum speak, I think I'm going to get sick. These small trucks don't seem to be very well equipped to do the job in hostile conditions. I've seen them in person and they aren't much. I say get the Hummers and let our troops work safely. *side note* When the PC's were going to buy the helicopters in the late 80's, was this a purchase that required them to borrow or was the moneys set aside?
  14. A little story from me. My cousin came down to Halifax awhile back looking for better work. He is a big pot head. And I can say from talking to him, hanging out with him is that I think it affects his behaviour (This is nota proven scientific fact). He was always mopey and didn't always want to do stuff, or he always needed to roll a joint and get high before attempting anything. He would come home from work and light up a joint, when he would go out with me and my friends, he was always stoned. This has turned me off from pot all together. I didn't like what it was doing to him and I will never do pot again (yea, I used to be a casual smoker). I have a future, I don't know about him....
  15. JMSTRFNK - It's a Liberal government, what do you think they are going to do? The same-old-same-old, NOTHING. Live with it. The people of Canada keep voting the Liberals in, well, this is what you are gonna keep getting.
  16. Hot topic. Let me ask you both. You have provided us with many counter-facts in this discussion. Which ones are the true legitimate facts? I know that I've heard of and read many studies that state the opposite of each other. How, then, can we be certain that we are taking the right path in this saga?
  17. KK - They call the crude from the ME, light crude.
  18. Are people in this country dumb enough to vote liberal in the next election?!?! Sick.
  19. Gugsy It would be a stronger voice in Ottawa when we have problems. As we sit now we are three small provinces and NL up north. This union would give us more bargaining power and a larger presence on the national and international stage.
  20. This topic has been discussed off-topic here and there for some time. The question of an Atlantic provincial union does seem like an interesting idea. What I have in mind is sort of a EU type Union, where the provinces keep their names and respective governments but the economic power comes from the fact that you would be dealing with essentially one big province. I don’t really know the details on how this would exactly work, but I’m interested in hearing what you have to say. Reading the EU website gives me some information of how that union works, but I don’t know if we need to go to that extent with this idea. Again, suggestions and comments are more than welcome. -Cameron
  21. Craig, you know that we are not going to sell PEI. Who the hell would buy it. PEI is where confederation started in Canada...Don't you have any feelings towards PEI, other than negative? Who knows what the final solution is for us Maritimers, maybe we will have to join forces and form a 4 province gov't to compete on a international and national level.
  22. What do you think? Should she step down and let Paul Martin become the unofficial winner of the race or should she stick in there until the bitter end, hoping that some of the 90% may vote her in? http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...Story/National/ http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/09/24/copps030924 You get the point.
