  1. Gee Margrace, I hate to tell you this but you (and all of us) have a lot to do with polluting our air.
  2. Actually you did bring up Kempling... So by your lights only atheists or maybe the cult of Secular humanism should be able to sit on a bench, that would severely limit if totally obliterate all qualified people. It appears that the aim of this new age religion is to stack the courts with their believers who would ultimately strip people of their freedoms, at least we now undertstand what your agenda really 8is. What I don't get is why its okay for the Liberals to stack the courts with their ideological supporters, most of whom are not atheists btw.
  3. The announcement does sound like it is geared to the election call that is possible after March 19. It could be a vote getter, and I admit Harper is becoming more liberal than the Liberals; but its the first post and the malicious stereotyping I was referring to. Why is it necessary for the drive by smears about a roup of people when posting on a subject for discussion.
  4. Here we go again, stereotyping and unsubstantiated smears about a whole group of people.
  5. I'm assuming that David Brown will apply the same legal opinions and judgements based on law, as do the Liberal judge appointees.... or are we to assume that the reason the Liberals are so anxious to get back in power is so they can stack the courts even more with their ideologues who will of course base their decisions strictly on law. Course we all know that Paul Martin's Supreme Court "Quota Queen" (Abella) is not radical and ever so even handed. Personally I think all judges should be put to a vote in parliament prior to a vetting similar to the U.S.
  6. What else do you expect from the Star - 'too America' is just part of the propaganda spouted by liberals and their followers to smear the CPC. It is on a par with all the hyperbole of 'theo con' smears, or what ever the '...con' of the day is. It is simply preying on the anti American prejudice of many Canadians, something which seems to a staple of Canadian life these days, probably because it gives people with an inferiority complex a bit of a lift.
  7. Gee and here I thought it was global warming that would kill us all off.
  8. They did indeed. We have to remember that Canada does not have the freedom of speech rights that the U.S. does, we are restricted.
  9. Hmm, just skimmed through this and a couple of others by the same poster. As far as I'm concerned this poster has jumped the shark. The accusations and the the use of Americanisms (theo-con) to describe actions by our gov't are surreal, there is no truth in what is posted; replying to her smears give her credibility not deserved. I've read some tripe over the years but this is like reading something from outer space It is one thing to disagree with a gov't and to debate issues etc. but to read the garbage and malicious smears posted here is enough to make one whoops their cookies - like - Toto I'm not in Kansas anymore.
  10. It appears that they made a big mistake picking Dion, maybe the CPC should go for the jugular and call an election I don't think it will be a landslide however, I'd bet another, though larger, minority.
  11. Which judges, the committees are not judges- and how will they circumvent the constitution etc.
  12. Me too, next thing it'll be burning at the stake based on innuendo and drive by smears, best to ignore this type of malicious tripe.
  13. I havn't read the whole thing yet, but is it possible that there is a difference in meaning, e.g, Islamic as opposed to Muslim. To my mind Islamic is a country or organization which supports the Caliphate, or a radical theocracy under Sharia Law. I'm sure not all muslims are of the radical type. Islamism is much like fascism and Marxism-Leninism and hostile to the 'infidel'. Countries such as Algeria, Turkey, Egypt, and Malaysia are Muslim but not necessarily radical Islamic. Radical Islamists are working towards world domination and a Global Islamic Caliphate, that is what we have to worry about. I'll add to this here as I think its in line with the theme: The Islamification of Palestine http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/ed...87-0288daaca8de It remains to be seen what was accomplished at the Fatah-Hamas summit held earlier this month. Yet one thing was made abundantly clear by the very fact of the meeting -- Palestinian Christians have new cause to worry about their religious liberty. The feuding Palestinian parties met in the holy city of Mecca (Makkah), hosted by Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah. Mecca is an odd choice for a summit site, because non-Muslims are not permitted to enter the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medinah. There are checkpoints on the highways into the holy cities, at which non-Muslim motorists who may have missed the "Muslims Only" signs are advised not to go any further. Media reports were remarkably silent on the question of holding the Palestinian summit in a city where Palestinian Christians -- a small minority, but historically active in Palestinian leadership -- are barred by law -snip- But the principal question is for those Palestinian people who wish "to recover their national rights" as King Abdullah puts it. Are those national rights to be understood in Islamic terms? Is the long delayed Palestinian state to be an Islamic republic? And if Palestinian leaders feel comfortable meeting in cities where Christians are banned, what confidence can Christians worldwide have that our holy sites -- in Bethlehem and the Old City of Jerusalem -- would be safeguarded should they ever come under the jurisdiction of a Palestinian state? The centuries-old presence of Christians in the "Arab-Islamic" world is dwindling. Where there were hundreds of thousands, there are now communities of only a few dozen families. Most dramatic of all, Bethlehem, once a majority- Christian city, is now three quarters Muslim. Christians increasingly feel like aliens among their own people, as Islamic identity dominates the national ties of Palestinian heritage. Meetings in Mecca will only confirm the fears of Palestinian Christians that there is little future for them in the "Arab-Islamic" nation.
  14. Think she knows Dalton M. is in charge now and is improving the schools
  15. This says it for me:http://www.cjob.com/shows/adler.aspx The Dion gang has also attacked the Conservative strategy to get tougher judges on the Canadian bench, antagonizing every victims right group in the nation. They feel the most appropriate metaphor for justice under the Liberals was a "get out of jail free" card. The Liberals say they aren't opposed to tough judges. They just don't want any with close ties to Conservatives. roblems is Liberals over the years appointed plenty of Judges who not only leaned Liberal, but raised money for the party. The mother's milk of politics is money, and Liberals are nothing if not sourcream on this one. Not to mention this gem, campaign debates should be interesting ! "Mr. Harper is sending on the TV's in Quebec very negative ads about me, and making people mixed up, " said Dion, while attending a news conference about a new commuter program in Richmond Hill, Ont.
  16. Speaking for myself, I think its a way to get at the U.S. and anyone who might support them, same way they seem to tacitly support terrorism. Anything that might defeat the U.S. and see its downfall. I don't understand why anyone would want to see Iran become a nuclear super power.
  17. What rant, what's your point, why shouldn't Ontario be open for business? The boards should be on the chopping block, they stifle trade and are monopolies. Please provide proof that Harris sold everything he could to American companies ( as said, you do know he's not in office anymore don't you) Why shouldn't he sit on boards, bet you wish you could make the same money - and therein lies the rub - bitterness and jealousy towards anyone who makes more than you. Socialism - the art of making all people equally poor.
  18. Nice post and no time to answer all points, just an opinion that I think its pretty near impossible to bring about peace to the whole region as long as radicals are around. Looking at some headlines this morning it these terrorists operate around the world, none of us are immune. I can only say that we need a united front in combatting this, until terrorism and the quest for radical theological States is under control I don't see a solution. Maybe the Saudis and others could do more, very interesting and well written. DOZENS DEAD IN INDIA TRAIN BLASTS SOUTH OF THAILAND ROCKED BY 28 BOMBS DEADLY EXPLOSION IN RUSSIAN McDONALD'S BAGHDAD CAR BOMBS LEAVE 60 DEAD
  19. Bumf indeed, much ado over nothing, an artificial scandal indeed. Exactly what has happened. He hasn't appointed a whole raft of new judges with 'close ties to the Conservative party' but it wouldn't be hard to think that from the headines and Liberal shreiking. What the CPC has actually done is to appoint 33 new members to the 12 judicial advisory councils which advice and inform Ottawa on who would make acceptable judges. Only 16 people actually had some connection to the CPC. This hardly amounts to "stacking the courts," these are volunteers appointed to a committee which will only recommend - talk about blowing in the wind.
  20. I agree!! but as long as a poster starts the witch hunt with unsubstantiated statements its hard to pass such nonsense by. Even the title of the thread is used to further the agenda of demonizing evangelicals. Any witch hunt such as this gathers momentum, the media starts to talk, bloggers blog and the whole thing gathers steam and the public buys into it. Just imagine if this was said about any other religion !!
  21. Interesting piece from the http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...9/TPStory/Front the internal e-mails show that by Nov. 21, the group was considering two general options -- taxing trusts or lowering dividend taxes. The team was led by Bob Hamilton, a senior deputy minister, and Louise Levonian, director of the department's business-income-tax division. In one e-mail, Mr. Hamilton specifically asked Mr. Nadeau and another official, Len Farber, to "please take a careful look at these." -snip- That afternoon, Mr. Hamilton and some of the others received an e-mail warning about the political risks of taxing trusts. "Investors will interpret anything as an attack on their precious income trusts and the pension plans will have no choice but to go to war over this 'thin edge of the wedge' - the beginning [of] the end for their tax-deferred status on all income," the e-mail said. The name of the sender has been blacked out, but the message advised waiting until after the election to introduce a tax. Just before 2 p.m. on Nov. 22, Ms. Levonian sent a copy of a press release outlining the option to lower the tax on dividends to Mr. Goodale. Around the same time, David Gamble, a media relations officer, warned everyone to keep the information inside the department. That evening, Mr. Goodale approved the option and officials made plans to issue a press release the next day at around 4:30 p.m. Mr. Nadeau, Mr. Farber, Ms. Levonian and Mr. Hamilton were to receive final copies of all material the next morning, the documents show.
  22. Now there's an enlightened tolerant statement which adds a lot to debate of good governance not. At least we know here what we are dealing with - an example of what liberals supposedly are against - intolerance, and malicious stereotyping.
  23. You are making things up, I have found nothing either after some extensive searching; nothing other than Toews is mennonite . If you google Brent Cotter and Evangelical you'll come up with a link http://www.qp.gov.sk.ca/documents/gazette/...95/g1199549.pdf which shows " W. Brent Cotter, Q.C., Deputy Attorney General, pursuant to ... Zion Evangelical Lutheran". I suppose your adding 2 + 2 and coming up with 222 - try reading. Zion EL is simply a group having input into legislation to do with alcohol and gaming back in 1995. You have offered no proof whatsoever of your assertions, they are simply spurious innuendo based on speculation in an attempt to promote hate and fear of a particular group. Provide hard proof or stop with the nonsense.
  24. I believe Hamas considers ALL Israelis military targets, they would have to change that opinion and their charters which states: "There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad" I can agree with the Green Line if it would bring lasting peace, but Israel does need a buffer zone, unless of course Hamas et al lay down their arms. An interim international force is a good idea. I don't agree that Israel has to pay any reparations.
  25. Thats has always been my thoughts too, and he has admitted about the old intelligence. Wonder what people hope to gain by continually posting the same crap over and over again.
