  1. I don't suppose there will be any apologies forthcoming over the rhetoric and incorrect assumptions, in particular the New York Times. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/jared-loughners-friend-says-suspect-did-not-watch-tv-disliked-the-news_b48040 I'm sure the rhetoric will be toned down for a while, but not for long.
  2. Lots of other sources if you don't like that one. While I wouldn't throw the whole org. under the bus, this could be the tip of the iceberg, the magnitude of the fraud is pretty big. Not to mention that the judge has some issues here too what's the fine now, a penny a vote, pretty cheap to get your candidate elected.
  3. This is a relatively 'stiff sentence' - sounds to me like she got off light considering it's not the first time. http://dailycaller.com/2011/01/12/acorn-leader-avoids-prison-for-voter-fraud-conspiracy/ A Las Vegas judge has spared senior ACORN executive Amy Adele Busefink jail time for her role in a notorious voter fraud conspiracy. .
  4. Well, according to this it's a good thing,. sure it's a lobby group but if this does create more jobs in the long run, then we can't complain. http://www.cbc.ca/money/story/2011/01/12/manufacturers-tax-jobs.html Manufacturers say Canadian corporate tax cuts coming this year and next will create 99,000 manufacturing jobs while increasing the federal government's overall tax take.
  5. Not much of a problem for the gov't, the Church has no right to interfere in political matters.
  6. Yup, there's a thread on that somewhere - Saying that 'talk radio has gone too far' and all the blather and blame about over heated political rhetoric is simply 'code' for attempts to shut down conservative view points. Where were all the complainers when the political rhetoric, death threats and hate speech was against Bush !
  7. Never mind all that stuff, it's a good excuse to try and shut down opposing opinions. What I don't understand is why the liberals can't get a successful station of their own.
  8. Gosh, whoda thunk it http://www.examiner.com/conservative-in-spokane/toxic-rhetoric-twitter-users-want-sarah-palin-dead-media-yawns
  9. So is this http://hillbuzz.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/screen-shot-2011-01-10-at-1-36-34-pm.png So sad that the democrats have to use this for political gain.
  10. I thought I'd post this - no surprise here. The Spectre of the 'Fairness Doctrine" has to raise it's ugly head. No surprise that the left would want to exploit this to suppress free speech. http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2011/jan/10/clyburn-words-can-be-danger/
  11. The only person to blame is the shooter, and again there is no evidence that he listened to talk radio or anything else, and in fact his obsession with Giffords predated the tea party and Sarah Palin's political emergence. “We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable - - Ronald Reagan The father of the child is a class act http://ncfreedom.us/2011/01/class-act-father-of-9-year-old-victim-don%E2%80%99t-exploit-my-daughter%E2%80%99s-death-to-revoke-freedoms/ Don’t Exploit My Daughter’s Death To Revoke Freedoms exploiting a tragedy http://www.weeklystandard.com/sites/all/files/docs/Bernie.pdf http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2011/01/bernie-sanders-gabrielle-giffords-fundraising-/1
  12. Yup, just like this http://hillbuzz.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/screen-shot-2011-01-10-at-1-36-34-pm.png
  13. A definite illogical conclusion LOL but I guess it squawks cos it can't talk.
  14. Two years ago with an American friend, took her sightseeing - nice town Most fundraisers are like that, what's the problem, go or don't go, your choice.
  15. There is no evidence that he listened to any talk radio or that any political news sources had anything to do with it. This is just another way of trying to shut down free speech. Don't forget talk of wishing people dead isn't exclusive to the right http://www.examiner.com/conservative-in-national/leaked-emails-npr-producer-fantasized-about-killing-rush-limbaugh and Christ Mathews fantazing about killing Rush http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC9uSnFFGvQ whoops, that one been scrubbed
  16. I agree it was a tad over the top, but it kinda evens out the malevolent UK Guardian -
  17. I think it's possible and should, but IMO it will be the same situation as now, a minority gov't. They have to be careful, there's an Ontario election in October so a federal election should come before that one or spring of 2012.
  18. Maybe she'll apologize if the democrats apologize for using similar (crosshairs on maps etc.)or Obama will apologize for his analogies. I don't think individuals should bring weapons to public events, even if it's to make a point about their amendment rights. None of which makes any one responsible for what this guy did. This is a major wet dream for the democrats who are now exploiting this tragedy for all it's worth. http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/2011/01/journalists-urged-caution-after-ft-hood-now-race-blame-palin-afte http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100071019/the-arizona-shootings-were-like-kwanzaa-come-early-for-americas-liberal-fascists/
  19. There's as much vitriolic political rhetoric coming from the left as the right and- MSNBC had no trouble asserting that violent Rhetoric comes exclusively From right; yet not too long ago, featured a guest calling for violent revolution from the left. There are new levels of idiocy regarding this tragic event, most of them blaming Palin and the teaparty based on nothing but zealotry, speculation and wishful thinking. The left is blaming Palin and the tea party - while the right - a mentally disturbed political eccentric. By all accounts so far, the right is correct on this one . http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703667904576071913818696964.html The Arizona Tragedy and the Politics of Blood Libel and it works both ways of course -Democrats use "bulls eye" targets extensively in their political graphics. http://www.verumserum.com/media/2010/03/DCCC-targeted-republican.jpg - democrat targeting strategy http://www.dlc.org/ndol_ci.cfm?contentid=253055&kaid=127&subid=171 http://www.dlc.org/ndol_ci.cfm?contentid=253055&kaid=127&subid=171 Daily Kos et al have been busy scrubbing rabid left wing posts Then we have Obama saying "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun" hmmmmm
  20. Honest oh sure, political opportunism to use such a tragic event for political gain doesn't have a word right now... then there's CNN http://hotair.com/archives/2011/01/09/the-shame-and-hypocrisy-of-cnn/ My reading of various left wing forums tells me that their strategy of blaming this on Sara Palin is taking hold. Never mind she's had nothing to do with it, and never mind that there is as much left wing violent ramblings as any other. http://www.breitbart.tv/msnbc-asserts-violent-rhetoric-exclusively-from-the-right-two-months-ago-featured-guest-calling-for-violent-revolution/ Of course, all this will spun out as being something really different and okay when the left does it, wasn't meant that way at all yadda yadda http://texas4palin.blogspot.com/2011/01/unbelievable-democrat-group-using.html ETA: the spin is on it's way now
  21. You obviously have a problem with English, maybe you don't understand so will repeat I said: I didn't make a conclusion about his political ideology, I said "His ideology doesn't seem to fit any side so the left is going to have a real problem pinning this on the tea party" and "he held eclectic viewpoints which seem to defy political classification." try again Never mind, the democrats aren't having a problem understanding how to spin this and where to assign blame - Nothing like using a tragic event to your political advantage http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0111/47294_Page2.html
  22. How dare you! I didn't make a conclusion about his political ideology, I said "His ideology doesn't seem to fit any side so the left is going to have a real problem pinning this on the tea party" and "he held eclectic viewpoints which seem to defy political classification."
  23. So, someone who goes on a shooting rampage is mentally stable - oh sure I'll buy that one LOL There is plenty of evidence, the Sheriff allready said he had a criminal record and was unstable, here the school suggested a mental health evaluation http://www.ocala.com/article/20110109/ZNYT02/101093011/-1/news?p=1&tc=pg Sara Palin et al have no responsibility whatsoever for this guy's actions, there is no evidence that he had any interest in them, in fact a friend of the shooter's came out in public yesterday and said that the shooter was a left wing liberal, go figure. There is also some indication that something happened in 2007 to cause a change in his behaviour. We may never know or understand his behaviour, he may not know why he did it, but it does not appear to be political at this time. http://www.ocala.com/article/20110109/ZNYT02/101093011/-1/news?p=2&tc=pg
  24. But it's okay for Daily Kos to do the same things, there is as much vitriol and hatred generated from the left as anywhere else. Giffords had been target of violent threats is true, here's one from Daily Kos - "bulls eye" post http://hillbuzz.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/screen-shot-2011-01-08-at-3-05-33-pm.png
  25. Showing the reading material of Mein Kamph & the Communist Manifesto was to highlight his wide range of reading material. I agree the gun culture mentality is hard for Canadians to understand, but trying to blame Sarah Palin is B.S. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/tobyharnden/100071004/the-unseemly-rush-to-blame-sarah-palin-the-tea-party-and-republicans-for-murder-in-arizona/ Ben Smith sums up the current picture of Loughner pretty well:
