Well this is sad, none of that actually explains how those policies caused people to pull up stakes and make the trek into the country, nor does it explain the drop in illegal border crossings we've seen in 2024. The simple reality is the border surge was the result of factors largely out of Biden's control like the backlog post COVID and continued unrest in South America. Increased enforcement by Mexico has put a cork in the bottle, but time will tell if it holds. There's no open border you dumbshit. Never has been.
