Two hundred thousand inmates??? I had to check this out. CAMP 22 NORTH KOREA I think we should shut down all ties and trade with these people until reforms of some kind are made. It isn't the UN way, but be strong and unwavering and let them know we won't tolerate it .

Thanks Lonius, always a pleasure to debate with one who can conceed to clarity. To counter conceed, I give you that a form of US colonialism is taking place in Iraq. Ideas, empowerment of the individual. Yes, it's good for the US. Yes it's good for the West. Like making your town and safer place to live in by giving the least wealthy a job rather than buying them off.
-
Almost had the Krud K'miester here Lonius. Nice try. If I recall, the British set up provinces ruled by Brits themselves. Governors and Magistrates, not Rent a Cops. It wasn't simply economic but a British ruled political situation as well.
-
Yes I am. That was not what Raz was talking about though Lonius. He broke resolutions that were the mainstay of a cease fire. A ceasefire that was contingent on his adherence to those resolutions. As well, Israel was not a prime candidate for democracy seeding for obvious reasons. Let me try to put this into another scenario for you so that you understand. Then when you address your esteemed collegues at moveon.org they might understand as well. Get it? The war was already happening for crying out loud! 911 was the catalyist that set the US in motion.

So if I was French, and anti war, my sandwhich board would say, "Peace for Oil!"?
-
Ah yes, the days before the world shrunk. The days when something happening on the other side of the world was not realised until a year or two later. The days when only armies that physically met could kill the other. Yes, sadly, those days are gone.

Us Is Superior Vs. Canada
KrustyKidd replied to Craig Read's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Progressive is whatever you want it to be. You think health care is God. I think that helping each other is. In rural areas they do that more. In cities they have to have laid down rules because people don't bond the way they do in smaller communities. Hence the need for for more laid down rules on social, health and law. LOL I guess I hit the nail on the head when I confirmed you ony go to cities. You are so cute Riff. Only in your mind does demographics fall into place so easily. I have to note this for the future: Note to KK Got it. . Never been to Georgia, Mississippi, Illiois, Colorado, shoot, pretty much anywhere but the Northern states have you? LINK FOR STATS RIFF There are lots of stats there. Lots that even support your case. Go for it. Remember, when you quote them note the small differences even when there is a big difference. Ie; Canada might be #1 but only by .0000012% over #7. Not really a hard line. Look at the stats Riff. A difference of .00whatever% Thats picking fly shit from pepper. Sure more murders and guns, I'll give you that but the rest is less or pretty much on par. A far cry from the bedlam you or your sidekick Tontonius paint. I explained it by the prevalence of the Mega Cities. You counter explained it with 'progressive' crap about redneck whites in trailer parks with shotguns in the country and sophisticated blacks with bibles and Korans in the city. Get an argument for crying out loud. So where does all the wealth go Riff? You do the facts for a change and I'll attack you. I'll start with a broad brush the way you always do then you scramble to use the afore mentioned site or whatever to disprove; A bit of foreign aid, less per capita than some other nations but it's substansially there. Then it's followed by forgiven mega loans, more than any other country. Then there is the 'evil' military that stopped you and your socialist buddies from becomming rubel less dirt laborers on a windswept nameless Potato Commune in Northern Saskatchewan, kept the price of oil down so you don't have to grease your bycycle chain with bacon fat as well as maintain stability througout the world so investments that the west depends on can maintain a sembalence of order. Their investments of government money into space for no other reason than to look to the future has brought you so many benifits it is unreal. Without their investing money they will most likely never get back, most of the third world would would starve. We have two cities that can really compare with their fifty or so. Not to mention the influx of third world people steaming across the border every day. You have an equal guage in Canada for that? I do. Try placing everybody iCanada in four cities like Toronto in a line next to four million Indians living on a non subsidized reserve with a porous border and see how our crime rate goes up. Try it Riff. Set back for a minute and think about it. Four million Indians crossing into four large cities after hiking across a hundred miles of country roads and whatever. Think the crime rate might go up a bit? Watch out, if it goes up even one stinking percent your argument falls apart. Face it, they really have a lot on the go with all the stuff they have working against them. So are they more or less violent? Get back to me when you figure it out, I thought you were saying they were more and now I'm thinking I'm arguing against Craig or something. OK, I get it, they are less evolved than we are. Must be the health care, you always go on about that. I don't know much about health care as I work and have about four plans that I pay into that take care of it. Key word is work. If this is the case then you are saying that health care defines a nation? Then why do we have Indians that are not happy? Islamist that are crying rasism? Why don't we have all sorts of crap going on in space? Why are our guys trying to keep the flag in Afganistan but can't leave the citiy of Kabul? Why is it when asked why they are proud of Canada people tell you it's because of something done fifty years ago or because we did nothing this decade? Dang Riff, I'm openminded and would love to agree with you. Just give me some reality that I can work with. -
SirRif Good point and one that the people of America and all us pro Iraq War people will have to deal with. I take it that you simply don't like the fact that there has been no vast amount of WMD found so far and believe that is an indication that there was not an immenent threat. I explained numerous times the real reason why Iraq was freed so won't get long winded about it unless you question the reason. Iraq had WMD in the past and they were found during the UN inspections as late as 27 Jan 2003. Missing weapons were unaccounted for and no destruction evidence was given by Saddam. Missile engines exceeded ranges perscribed and outlawed 'dual purpose' facilities were found after they had been declared non-existant by Iraq. Everytime Blix showed up, new things were found. Great as long as you are not footing the bill for a couple hundred thousand soldiers to intimidate Saddam but bad for the US. It was time to come clean and he did not. Based on intelligence that came from a lot of sources, WMD were a valid assumption. For certain, the US was planning an invasion of a Middle East country scince the early nineties (I even suspect earlier) and with 9 11 had a real motivation. Saddam, I believe, was played like a violin. The case for WMD didn't have to be strong. It was for all intents and purposes real enough, legal enough and could be played down or up, whatever transpired. Was it real? Concievably, it could have been. Was it the reason for the war? Not a chance. Saddam's fate was decided long before Blix came back in January. He was a sap in the making and he didn't even see it comming. the war on Iraq was legally a continuation of the Gulf War, in that Iraq did not comply with UN resolution 687. In this resolution, which the ceasefire agreement was dependant upon, stated that Iraq had to rid itself of all WMD "eequipment and material" and to fully coperate with UN inspectors. It did not on a myrad of occasions and Pre war inspections as well as post turned up lots of wicked stuff, labs, documents and intentions. Hence, Gulf II was actually a 'resumption' of Gulf I. So much for legalities. Bush is exonnerated. The true reason for Iraq was not explained using diagrams and pictures before the war. Matter of fact, even with my helping you here, you have had a very difficult time seeing it. It is a complex and dangerous task as you have already observed and with the anti war sentiment at play prior to the war would not have been understood nor thought possible.. It was an opportunity that was presented when Saddam did not adhere to the UN resolutions passed against him. Nobody wants a war Riff. Anymore than we like to pay bills. It's very bad for credibility as you have all these peaceniks really on your ass when you do even if Hitler is gassing millions of Jews.. But they never got it right according to the Left. there is not ONE SINGLE THING that the left can say that Bush has done right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day yet Bush hasn't tripped over one right policy in three years? Hmmmmm. Almost think they are ranting. Who is lying the most is a question we all should be concerned with. Anyhow, really, Saddam had little to do with terrorism. At least the crew that we are interested in right now. He was however, an unfortunate dupe who got played like a violin. Outside of Syria (who did not flaunt 14 UN resolutions) he sat on the only country in the ME that could be ripped apart government wise and rebuilt with it's own resources - oil. Like Lenin, Saddam was evil. Like Lenin, he changed the world, but like Lenin, in a way he never, in his wildest dreams would expect.

Riff Great quote! And a great post Riff. You said it all well. -
Lonius Well said Lonius! Anybody with two cents in their pocket is guilty as they can give one to another who has none. Now that you have identified the entire planet save those with absolute nothing as being selfish, I take it the remaining 99.99999999999999999% have to rip the sofa apart for change to give away. So how is the US different than you, I, and the rest of the percentage quota I gave here? I mean, you finished with this: Do you have two cents in your pocket?
-
All the known world he took. Ooops, 'freed' lol. Name one place in that time that was not oppressive Lonius. His stlye of Government was classic Greek. Progressive and although had a ruling class was copied by all democracies in some way or another. He was 'Alexander the Great' for a reason. Hannibal was not 'Great," either was Attila or Charlamene. They lacked the ability to keep what they won. They tried to rule, Alexander did not want to rule, he knew he couldn't. He knew he could only guide, influence. Keep his army free to influence others. He was not Great because he conquered, but because he was smart.

Posted recently from a MLW member: The only 'American Colony' I know of is in Jerusalem. I would like to know where there is a history of "American Colonialism.' The intent of this quote is to purport that Americans are immigrating by the thousands to the US Colonies? The 'American Colony' referred to above is only a compound for journalists and minor dignitaries so where are they, who are the Governors and what are the populations of these 'colonies?" Or is it just crap, from a ranting Left?
-
LOL. Can't keep up can you? Watch this, I'll now use them in the SAME SENTENCE!! Alexander conquered the armies of oppressive rulers and in order to keep the territory he gained, allowed the people to be free under an appointed pfficial. I know you will pick up on the 'appointed official' part so will nip you in the bud and refer you to the latter part of the quote, the part that says he replaced those officials if they were like the Liberals of today. You know, in it for personal gain. Such was the genius of Alexander Lonius. A man born thousands of years ago was ahead of the left today. Conquer the oppressors and allow the people to be free. Free as in Western Ideas and such. You know, Plato, Aristotle vs Saddam, Osama. ALEXANDER, AHEAD OF HIS TIME BY MILLENNIA
-
It was sarcasm Hoen. Bush did exactly what Alexander did. Alexander was the most sucessful politician the world has known and coupled with his brilliant military mind enabled him to conquer the entire known world. he only stopped when he ran out of places to free.. The chicken America? That was pre Pearl. As in Canada and the US or France? Or Saddam and the US? Times change. Ask yourself something, if your best friend from when you were five called you up after so many years of nothing and asked to borrow ten grand, would you? LOL, times change. BTW, that's two questions.

Malfeasance Is A Crime
KrustyKidd replied to The True Patriot's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I moved this from a second thread you started to make things a little less cluttereed. I didn't find the word you used in my dictionary. I understand the meaning of it though from your posts. In this country (Canada) we are plagued by the same thing. Politicians doing actions that seem to make no sense at all. They too, take an oath and then proceed to line the pockets of their friends as well as their own. Yes it is. Come next year both of us will have that opportunity to cast our vote. Good luck to us both! -
Socialism rocks! However, until I am the one setting it up and running it, it sucks. This leadership guy, he was ready to start swinging spike maul on the railroad once socialism was achieved? Or did he figure that he would then remain in charge of the country? I mean, all are equal. I certainly don't like the idea of another getting off easy while I freeze in the cold, cold rain of Northern Ontario while he hob nobs it with the international elite. I know I write good. I think well, maybe just as good as him. My Homie does pretty good too when he isn't drunk. He doesn't like the heat in the summer and would prefere to be a Finance Minister. He thinks Socialism would give him a month off in the hot summer to replace a person who doesn't like to work in the winter outside. And to rid Cretien and his ilk of their million dollar pension cheques so I can watch him flip burgers at Micky D's while my former garbageman gives him a snap order from his shift in the Goverenment Limo. God! This is going to be good! I also like the idea of getting some of those 'Crown Corporations' under 'real government' Control so we can boost efficiency! Man, we are gonna rock! Socialism rocks! All of us for PM! (In shifts of course to share the 'heavy load,)
-
And Oliver North. He was part of all this crap too right? Damm, they have some shady deals going on. It's like it takes evil to fight evil almost.
-
What's with you Lefties? Have I got to do your work for you ? Yet again? Thanks for the Memories... Damm! This is so well done that it puts tears in my eyes! Slightly biased though, I think the message is that Saddam shuld be in power because he was once an asset. I figure that once you stop being an asset then you should be canned. Anyhow, drumroll please.

Us Is Superior Vs. Canada
KrustyKidd replied to Craig Read's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I must appologise Riff. I took it to mean ALL countries. I am sorry. However, I did some further research and here is what I found: Wow. .04% more crimes in the States. It’s a madhouse! Hmmm. If you are a girl, better carry mace in Canada. Only half a can in the States. Wow. The US is full of barbarians. Almost .06% more than Canada. Still feel safer in Canada? Your purse isn’t. Either is your wallet. Might have something to do with criminals getting their privates shot off when caught in the process of a crime. And your car would be better off parked on Broadway as well. Let's see. Hmmm. Yes, you are right, they do. I wonder if this includes burglers getting shot in the act? I would also hazard a guess that most takes place in the cities of over two million. US POPULATION FIGURES That’s roughly fifty million. This leaves eighty percent of America living in places that you did not go. As I was saying. Get out a bit. Away from the cities, where the other eighty percent of Americans live. The less violent two hundred million of them.. I think I did and still do a fair bit of getting out Riff. I spend eighty percent of my time in the United States. Not in the cities but in towns and the highways. Obviously having a purpose other than being a tourist or a visitor people naturally interact with me more normally than they would a tourist as they know that my intent is business and nothing suspect. Aside from this I spent four years in Germany, two in Belgium and another two in the Middle East. During those periods I traveled a lot as well. Anyhow, to sum up I would like to say that yes, you were right. The US has more violent crime than most other first world nations. However, I would point out that there is a reason for that and that would be the prevelence of large metropolitan cities. More so than Canada for example. As well, I would also point out that in the smaler places (of which I frequently travel) people are at least as friendly as they are anywhere in Canada. In most communities they are at least on par and usually more progressive than those who you say are socially one generation behind us. To make such an arrogant comment makes me think of another bogus comment recently made about Americans that couldn't be backed up. -
Wow. Where did you read that into my post? I thought it was pretty clear that I found the Conservative party lacking in the strength and integrity dept rather than shifting to the right or left.

Moral degeneracy can be traced in all ages to the time when life became too easy, money too free and expectations too political. Is it moral to run up massive debts and unfunded liabilities which in Canada total 2x the GNP ?? Who will pay for this ? Less gov't more self reliance and perforce, by necessity, higher standards of living. 'Grants' and 'Entitlements' break morality not enhance it. Can you imagine the ninnies in Canada today fighting WW2 ? No way. Moral rot is too pervasive and moral rot is endemic in many levels; -personal -business -gov'tl -media bias My daughter wants me to be ambitious. Wants me to make things better. I feel that if there is a politician who is greedy enough to keep their job, they will make the world better. I will them vote for him or her. Guess that they would have to be greedy too. Apathy is the opposite of greed. Lonius would rather that we all live in a mud hut and pick our noses all day? We would not be greedy, hungry perhaps. A minor Dictator could come along and force us to mine Maple Syrup so he could trade it for our wives favors in the winter months, but us geing greedy? No way. No stinking way! I'm not greedy, do whatever you want to me, I don't want a thing other than to serve everybody, even if it means better providing for my family or community. Gaining their respect or freeing up my time so I can persue higher callings like art or religion. I don't want to end up like the USA where
-
Raz Macedonians under Alexander the Great. That was the last time this crap has been tried. He conquered more than the known world using the same tactics. Beat the living daylights out of the oppressors and install a people friendly (loyal to him) government. It was a hit. So much so that he was able to gather recruits from those beaten to help free the next enemy until he ran out of enemies. What an idiot that Bush is. If he is going to follow history, why not something more better like Napolean or better yet, Lenin?
-
Yes. Hmmmmm. It is Brother Lonius, quite obvious that the US of America will need more than the ten thousand troops they have there presently whacking Al Queda here and there to occupy all of Afganistan. Yes indeed. They have failed. It is their VietNam for sure. Quagmire. Quite the opportunity for the other countries of the world. I can see how they have taken up the torch of humanity and huddled in Kabul to free the Afgans. What a generous lot they are! BYW, what do they bring to Afganistan that would benifit them? Oppression? Dictatorship? Aristocracy? Don't say freedom of choice or you might be seen as promoting democracy LOL.

I'm ready to bolt anyhow. Stronach would just make me save the gas to the polls. Something else. I think the Barbie flyer was self induced. Probably not by her but by her supporters to gain reverse reaction. The attention gained is so much conversation of how it is the person the matters, not the sex. Just after a week of the press being critisized for remarking on her looks. Now everybody is talking about her, how she is a person and not a Barbie. What about Harper? He's just a guy, don't have to talk about him. If it wasn't her supporters whoever did it did her a big favor. BARBLINDA Manning you had a leader. Harris same. Harris didn't have the time for us. Hope he is happy with his family. If he steps a foot away from them to seek public office again I'll fight against him best I can. We needed him, not Belinda, whoever she is. In the meantime, guess I'll just have to get used to Martin. He'll be here for awhile. Funny, after a decade of voting Reform and CA, I am actually trusting the Liberals more than those leading my own party. Least they don't make any pretentions of being honest.
