  1. So what you're saying is Little PET should really be running in Toronto, right? I think as long as it is in the Golden Triangle or Vancouver that is all that counts to Fortunata. An Alberta riding clearly isn't as important as a riding from the centre of the universe. In her little hatred inspired rant she also missed the significance of who the current MP is in Calgary Southwest.
  2. Catch me do you have any clue at all? For crying out loud, what a blatant example of your blind hatred when you have no idea what you are arguing about. The $539,915 and $913,710 are additional revenues. i.e. just over $1.4 million in additional revenues and they had $1.45 million in other expenses. The net effect would be $40,000 less to report as income in 2006. Geoff is right, this amount is pretty minimal. It still $7 million more then the Liberals raised in 2006, as reported in the story.
  3. Did the appointments of Billy Cunningham in Burnaby Douglas, John Bethel in Edmonton East , Ruby Dhalla in Brampton-Springdale all look bad? Yes. Were the encouraging? Only because the Libeals lost two of those three seats. Should we dig up articles on the nastiness and mudlinging in each of those ridings? Catchme, do you really enjoy spending all day scouring the internet for articles that confirm your hatred for Stephen Harper?
  4. Hmmm Geoff the value of that adjustment was below $10K. You know that. The reported number for the Conservatives was in the millions. Either way the number would have been $19 Million. What does "applied previously back" mean? For a self-professedly educated man you ask some pretty difficult to comprehend questions. Yes, even accountants would wonder what you meant by that one...
  5. What a profound statement Geoff. No sh*t eventually they'll have to come up with a policy ... like when they present the budget. Maybe the trial balloons are just a way of keeping the angry types angrier that much longer.
  6. So the fundraising numbers are in for 2006. Link CPC $19 Million Liberals $11.2 Million First key point to remember (from the story). Second key point. The Conservatives still had money in the bank after the election. The Liberals had a debt to pay off...
  7. Mulroney did the most on the environment of any Prime Minister in the last 30 years. Harper will supplant him by the end of his next term in Government....
  8. Credibility in the sense that Dion has none or Harper's is growing daily?
  9. How convenient. Only the white people on the show are worthy of your contempt...
  10. It is relevant. To add to your post, it is rumoured that Mulroney was the one behing Harper's hard green turn.
  11. Jeanne Le-Ber? Actually a very shrewd move by Dion. Really tests Trudeau's commitment to the party and being an MP. If he runs and wins, hey that's a pickup of a seat....
  12. You are right about Harper being a shock and awe guy. While the GST cut would make some headlines it wouldn't be big news? What is something that would really make people go wow? Something that *might* force an election? A big raise to the basic personal exemption is unikely as it would be accepted across the board...
  13. Yes, they are known as Industrial Regional Benefits. IRBs. For every dollar of the contract Boeing must spend a dollar in canada buying goods and services. The Bloc Québecois was asking for 60% of the IRBs b/c 60% of the Canadian aerospace industry is in Québec. According to the CBC Québec will get 30%, the maritimes 10%, with a big chunk of the rest going to Manitoba. Seems like payback for the CF-18 debacle. There are three or four seats in MB that could now be in play as Conservative pickups....
  14. Uh, look at the contrast. *Almost a dozen* people complaining about Rob Anders and hints that there might be issues with Wajid Khan. Against numerous examples of problems with Liberal nominations. Open your eyes and you'll see how wrong you are on this one.
  15. Khan didn't need a parachute. Thanks for proving my point. Yet again, the Conservatives compare themselves with the Liberals over ethical issues because the contrast is so stark!
  16. And I doubt we will hear a credible argument that wasn't the case in this deal
  17. Of course Grossman doesn't outshine Manning. But if the Bears defence outshines the Colts, stops any big plays by Manning et. al, and forces a couple turnovers. Hester scores one on special teams. Just seems like Manning is a little ill-fated. My guess is Da Bears 19 Colts 13 Choke Peyton Choke!
  18. Or Billy Cunningham in Burnaby Douglas. Link Ohhh, that's right. He lost the election! Or John Bethel in Edmonton East, Dave Muti in Calgary Northeast, Ruby Dhalla in Brampton-Springdale. Link All of these people were appointed as candidates over the objections of *more* than a dozen members in each of their respective ridings. The Conservatives compare themselves with the Liberals over ethical issues because the contrast is so stark!
  19. 11 members. What a freaking joke. Despite his obvious faults, Rob Anders is a very strong organizer. Eleven party members can get themselves some press but that's about it. Calgary is so solidly blue the media out here is always looking for some sort of crack in the wall. This is the best they'll be able to find this election.
  20. As weaponeer said, it's not *NO Liberals* just a far smaller percentage than Canadian society in general. The *culture of entitlement* doesn't really fit well with the military ethos. Tends to make sense that those who feel entitled to support from the Government wouldn't join the military.
  21. Where do you come up with that? How would simpler income taxes increase productivity???
  22. I have to disagree. That would be Strange Brew ... hands down.
  23. My guess is you will definitely see at least a one-point cut in the lowest bracket. Raising it was a mistake. Either another point across the board or a second GST cut. Smaller things like raising RRSP contribution limits, raising the Home Buyer's Plan to $50K....
  24. I'd reply to you, but your signature says it all about your post.
  25. Smart move by the Conservatives. A two point cut on the lowest bracket and one on all the others is the best choice...
