Should all guns be abolished? NO. Should handguns be abolished? I think we need to think about it. The best way I have heard this described is as follows. "Rifles and shotguns are used to kill food and protect livestock. The only use for a handgun is to kill people." Not entirely accurate and most certainly dated but it brings up a valid point. What is the need for handguns? Other than police and military who really needs a handgun? Sure they maybe fun to fire at the shooting range and look cool in a nice display but they really only have one purpose and that is to shoot people. Call it self defense or protection of property if you want but the bottom line is if you buy a handgun you aren't planning on takng a shot at the wolves chasing the yearlings in the back 40. You plan on shooting whoever it is that is breakng into your house or stealing your car. Should the long gun registry be discontinued? Well the police forces across the country use it thousands of times a day and they seem to like it. If the people charged with protecting the public feel it is a worthy tool then who am I to argue. They are the ones putting their life on the line for my safety, and if they want to keep it then as far as I'm concerned it should stay.

That post is a perfect example of classic CPC denial. You even believe that political actions cancell each other out. lmao Do you not remember the outrage Harper had at the thought of the Liberals flying around in Canadian military aircraft? Do you deny the CPC was furious at one of their party members crossing the floor to join the liberals? Do you deny that the CPC thought it terrible that the Liberals appointed unelected officials? Do you deny that the CPC ran a campaign trumpeting the idea that they were morally superior to the corrupt liberals and would bring integrity, transparency and accountablity to Canadian Govt.? Do you not see the conflict between those statements and what has actually happened under this Govt.? The CPC flew around in the same aircraft. The CPC enticed Liberal members to cross the floor. The CPC appointed an unelected official. The CPC has shown no integrity, by doing the three things listed above after railing against such behaviour in the past. They have shown no transparency as members are not even allowed to speak freely. Whenever the other political parties are trying to hold the CPC accountable for anything the CPC begins personally attacking opposition members, or simply repeats their "But we're not as bad as the Liberals" mantra. So the CPC isn't as bad as the Liberals. They are sure on their way. Given another decade( ya right! lmao) they would be just as bad or worse.

It's conventional wisdom in Ottawa that the CPC would have lost a 2005 election. It only took you a year and a half to figure that out? Oh Ricki you are so smart and witty.

Perhaps if she hadn't switched sides and the Govt. had fallen, the CPC would still be the Official Opposition. Damn. Now I hate her too. Remember, that was the thick of the Sponsorship Scandal. I doubt it. There were other things during the election like the leaked RCMP investigation that ruined the liberals more than the sponsorship was hurting them. They would have kept their minority.

Do show us what the Liberals did wrong, in your eyes. Then we can compare it to the Conservatives actions in Government. I guess that comprehension problem of yours is rearing it's ugly head again. I already stated three things both parties have done wrong. I have no love for the Liberals and was calling them corrupt in the mid 90's.
